Ideal Solutions UK is cold calling timeshare owners with a really good sounding offer to dispose of their timeshare. They even follow up the call with a nice email with fancy logo and the assurance that: “Ideal Solutions UK is a leading marketing agency specialising in helping timeshare, holiday pack and points owners sell their ownerships. Based in Manchester we provide a professional service on behalf of a large corporate client”
Their website www.idealsolutionsuk.co.uk gives you all the in’s and out’s about resale of timeshare and they even have a whole sub-page dedicated to scams! That’s nice of them!
This web was created in February 2011which put the 30 years of experience they quote between question marks.
There is not really an identification on who this company is and for contact details they only display a telephone number 0845 366 5911 and an email address admin@idealsolutionsuk.co.uk
As they claim to be a Manchester based company, a call from a consumer to ask for the address was dispatched a bit nervous by the agent picking up the phone. She explained they only had a “virtual” office in Manchester. When asking if they were registered in the UK the agent explained she wouldn’t know as she was only an employee…but insisted they are an “internet” based company who are registered in Manchester UK with offices all over UK. So offices everywhere but only not just in the place they claim to be based!
Checking the UK Companies Housing, no such company can be found and Trading Standards has confirmed that any company in UK is required to have a UK Postal Address for the purpose of issuing documents. This address can be any address and any company and is not required to be the name of the trading company.
Ideal Solutions UK explains on their web that they will make an appointment to discuss their offer further.
“During your appointment, subject to an initial confirmation of your circumstances, you will be made an unconditional offer for your timeshare. We would also like to take the opportunity to present to you a unique alternative solution which will maximize the financial return for your timeshare.”
Well that sounds familiar! Just cannot wait until hearing from people what this is about!
So if any of you have been called and invited to a meeting or maybe they are visiting you at home, please let us know what it was about and if the offer is actually genuine and even if you don’t invest in their !alternative solution” they will be disposing of your timeshare with an unconditional offer.
Hi I have cancellled my appointment but was contacted by Unique Solutions. I asked them for their company details and was told they were an internet marketing company and ated on behalf of a customer who wanted to purchase my timeshare. They would not give me details of their “customer”. I asked them to put details to identify their company etc in an email. This has not been received. However, when I mentioned I had been researching the position they actually mentioned this blog stating that the information on here was incorrect! Still no email though.
ideal solutions contacted me over 12 months ago, with promises of taking the points off me, i went to a meeting in altringham near manchester, not there for long before realising i would not be leaving with a cheque for payment of my points, in fact they wanted me to pay them £5000. just to take the points off me.Alarm bells were ringing all around and i left the meeting.
I have since handed back my points to diamond resorts at a cost of 250 dollars (approx £150)
I know i have lost money on my so called investment, but i no longer have to pay increasing maintance charges,my last payment to diamond resorts was £680.
Beware attending any meetings with a promise of haveing your shares/points being sold, don’t take your credit card/bank card or cheque book.
Dear Glyn,
Many thanks for your comment and your wise advice!
Kind regards

Hi. I have been contacted by a company called The Unique Solutions and they have made me an appointment in offices in Livingston, near Edinburgh. All seems very similiar to the posts above. Has anyone actually attended any of the meetings? Just wondering what actually happens? Thinking I am not going to attend?
September 2011 – I have been approached by Julie Hague who has sent me an E-Mail, which is identical to that on their website. I have been invited to attend a meeting either in Northampton or Tunbrige Wells. After reading the comments of your clients I don’t think I will bother to attend.
Many thanks for all the info.. I have so far lost approx £13k on these scams.
les canfield
i was contacted by ideal solutions who sent us to ecoresorts in rushden northants and the offer was we pay£2995 they will dispose of the timeshare & give us £2000 cash back in return we can invest in a share of a property in yoo puket thialand they will take out a loan in your name for £76000 they will pay the intrest for 2 years and at the end you can sell your share for alot more than you paid for it any ideas
OK here we have a company who offer to take out a loan IN YOUR NAME how kind of them not many companies would do that for you would they.
You can sell your share in two years for a lot more than you paid….yer right….have you really read through this thread.
This sounds like a variation of the cash back system I fell for and lost my life savings.
Take the advice you read in this blog and keep you money in a bank.
Dear Les,
Thank you very much for the comment and the information about the meeting!
These kind of meetings are always difficult to assess, yes there is an investment opportunity but why have they targeted a timeshare owner? Where did they get your name / personal details from? And what about the timeshare disposal if you don’t want to invest?
Without mentioning that buying a property in Thailand is a very delicate issue as it is not around the corner.
Kind regards

Not been contacted by Ideal Solutions, but was contacted by Supreme Services (who apparently have the identical website!!). Supreme Services claim they are just ‘a marketting company’ and simply arrange appointments with the company who will dispose of your timeshare. If you arrange an appointment they will give you the address and time, but will NOT tell you the name of the company or person you will be meeting. (Presumably to prevent you from Googling it and finding out it is a scam!)
This also sounds an identical modus operandi to Cedar Consultants who work with Dreams2Reality and whose unconditional offer appears to be to take your timeshare off your hands for nothing, while the conditional offer is dependent upon you reinvesting in another scheme.
Yes I have just this minute had a call from Jo at Ideal Solutions! She is sending me e-mail details.
map and offices in Kent we should visit to put in an “OFFER” to sell!!! I am going along with it
to find out where exactly they are!
Elizabeth

Have you had any luck with Ideal Solutions ?
where do they find our contact details ?
Dear Glyn,
These kinds of companies most probably have your name on a list which was obtained unlawfully and is sold over and over again between them. That’s why a lot of times you don’t get called once but actually by several scam companies.

21 july 2011, they contacted me this afternoon and are sending details by post.
