Breakaway Marketing Solutions’ website CLOSED DOWN!

Great news! Breakaway Marketing Solutions, one of the dubious resale companies for which we placed a warning on this blog http://wp.me/p1kmoi-8J has had their website closed down since yesterday.

The fact Breakaway Marketing bluntly copied all content from an existing website of a reputable resale company and thus creating an image of being a trustworthy resale company and the complaints received from consumers and different companies put enough pressure on the webhost to take immediate action.

The website http://breakawaymarketingsolutions.com is no longer active and a notice of “Site unavailable” comes up when trying to access this web.

We are very pleased with this intervention.

Have you been called by Breakaway Marketing Solutions? Please let us know!

Hi there! the name is Ian.
I have also had dealings with Beauregard, with the same result \as all your correspondents. Currently £3,000 down and not sure how to proceed towards recovering any money – about half was paid on my credit card. My contact at BMS was also Eve Miller in the first place but this changed to Alison Harper. I was last able to contact them,at Euston Road immediately before christmas after which they disappeared. Any suggestions and help would be welcome

    Hi my name is Janet

Could anybody give me any idea how to get my money back from breakaway, I paid a sum of £962 with my visa card in July 2011 and then they asked for more later of £1.400 in October 2011 I turned them down, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

  3. Don Grimsell says:

We too have had dealings with this company who were going sell the case and contents which we had from DVWC. They said they had a buyer and we would receive a good sum against the monies that ILG had consumed. We sent 2/3 papers to an address in Malaga Spain to complete the deal which were returned by Royal Mail with the comment “addressee gone away.
    £3000 lost.

    • Hi Don,
      Thanks for your comment.
That is a lot of money you lost there!
We will send you an email with further information and if you have paid any of this by credit card we can at least guide you on how to claim a refund.
      Kind regards
      Customer Care

hi, could anybody give me any idea how to get my money back from breakaway, i paid with my debit card and then bank transfer to a spain account, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

  5. Eileen Washer says:

I sent a recorded delivery letter to Beauregard Marketing Solutions instructing them to refund my money immediately as it is illegal to take any upfront fees under the New Timeshare Directive. The money was refunded and thankfully I have not lost anything over this whole sorry business. But I have received telephone calls every day for the last 2 weeks from a ‘withheld’ number and I am certain it is the same people calling me but I cannot understand why because I have told them I am not interested in selling through them. Needless I do not answer the telephone if it displays ‘withheld’. You could also try to get the money back onto your card through your credit card company.

  6. Sean Taylor says:

I have also just been done for £1,500off my card and the £1,000 cash through post office to cover Spain sales tax. they kept me on for ages then decided that there was a problem with UPS their shipping agent. Since money paid to them have never been able to speak to anyone other than the receptionist, sales reps always busy never called back.

    • Hi Sean,
      Thanks for your message.,
We will send you the information over on how to try and recuperate some of the money paid. The payment by credit card is protected but the transfer of cash is not.
      Kind regards

Hi my name is Margaret, I would like you help could you please let me know if thets consultants are a scam . Having had a call from offering me sale price for my timeshare on behalf of another company thanks margaret

  10. M McEwan says:

I was cold called by Breakaway a couple of weeks ago. Two days ago they came up with a good offer. I said That I wasn`t sure I really wanted to sell so they gave me 24 hours to decide. They phoned back 20 hours later and I declined the sale having checked on the Internet and read about them. I was actually pleased to learn there were problems which confirmed to me that I wanted to keep my timeshare anyway!

  11. Eileen Washer says:

This was not exactly a cold call, I had originally put in an enquiry to Star Timeshare Store who came up with a buyer for our timeshare and I was passed on to Beauregard Marketing Solutions to deal with the paperwork. The payment on my card was taken by Fleetmar Developments who Beauregard said were the merchants that hold the liability insurance in a trust fund until it is returned to me when the sale has been completed and they have the ownership papers. How could I be so naive and gullible ??!!

  12. Eileen Washer says:

Yes, they asked for a fee for liability insurance and this was taken from my credit card immediately. Since your notification about Breakaway Marketing I have spoken with my credit card company who told me to send a recorded letter to Beauregard telling them that the fee must be credited back to my account immediately. I sent the letter to them on Thursday (6th) and today (7th) have received 2 messages on my answerphone saying they want to speak to us urgently. The number is always ‘withheld’. If they do not put through the refund to my credit card I am to get back to the card company and should be able to get the payment reversed.

  13. Eileen Washer says:

I have been in contact with a company called Beauregard Marketing Solutions regarding the sale of our timeshare at Fortina Spa Resort in Malta. I have received a contract from them and notice that the name on the bottom is Breakaway Marketing Solutions to be signed by Eve Miller. This is the person I have been dealing with and have spoken to her only this morning as I was still very wary as to whether Beauregard was a genuine company. It looks as if I have been ‘scammed’ yet again.

    • Hi Eileen,
      Thanks for letting us know.
This is the second time this name comes up and it doesn’t look very good if they cold called and on top of it have Breakaway Marketing on their paperwork!
Did they ask for a fee or not yet?
      Kind regards
