TP Associates or TP Helpline offers mediation on cold call

A company that has started off being active over the past week is TP Associates or TP Helpline as they call themselves on the web.

TP Associates with website www.tphelpline.com seems to be a new company offering mediation services for different kind of issues under which timeshare.

Their website was registered on the 26th of September 2011 although they pretend to have this running since 2005 as stated on the bottom of the webpage.

They do not seem to be registered with the UK Companies House and neither do they quote a registration number on their web site.

The telephone number they use 0843 309 1998 can be ringing anywhere, so it is the question if they are really located on the address 122 Aldermans Green Road, Coventry, Warwickshire
CV2 1PP

They go on and on about the No Win no Fee claim they are offering to do and only on a successful conclusion to your Mediation claim will TP ASSOCIATES produce an invoice for 10% of the total sum awarded. But that is not really the truth as there is a fee though to be paid for translation fees which get close to £1000.

Whatever they call it, it is an upfront fee

The fact that on top they asked a consumer for a payment by bank transfer and not credit card makes it indeed very suspicious!

It sums all up unfortunately, the cold call, no company registration, dubious fees upfront and payment method, we would surely recommend to be very cautious and if they want to do your claim, well use Google translation as a consumer suggested!

Have you been called by TP Associates on 08433091998 ? Please let us know.

I have some good news, thanks to Mr Garcia and his team. Although I lost my money to TP Associates, I have managed to successfully get all my Reclaim money back (plus intertest) from my Credit Card Company. Because I paid the deposit by card, this was enough for the Consumer Protection act to cover me and get a full refund. Easy to do, and paid within 3 weeks of submitting the claim. The process is described on this site, and easy to do – no commission payable to 3rd parties!

    • Wow! That is excellent news and thanks for sharing this with everybody.
Let’s see if more consumers take the decision to start claiming today!

      Congratulations!

My wife and I were also contacted by Rebecca Dean of TP Associates and after much soul searching (and desperation) made 2 payments to try and recover our DWVC Reclaim amount. They are very professional and have an answer for any questions you can throw at them. They also appear to be more genuine than the firms offering to sell your membership.
I have since been in touch with Coventry Trading Standards via mindtimeshare (who have been extremely helpful) and unfortunately now believe that we have been yet again conned. Our story is the same, mediation costs, failed mediation, litigation costs, court fees and….guess what no money. It hurts to know that there are people out there ready and willing to rip you off to feed their greed. Please do not fall for this.

    • PC 5137 Forth says:

Rippedoff – please email m.forth@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk with the details of your case. I am hunting for victims of the TP Associates scam.

T Smith – I already have your case in front of me and it is being investigated.

Anybody else who has sent money to TP Associates please make contact.

I must stress that I am ONLY dealing with TP Associates, and not the original timeshare problems you guys are having, and whilst I sympathise, any enquiries of any other nature will not be processed.

      Kind regards,

      • Barbara says:

Good morning. I have, unfortunately, had dealings with TP Associates, resulting in sending a large amount of money by cheque to them in January last. I was advised that we had a case to reclaim our CashBack from DWVC and this money was for the Mitigation. Obviously we cannot reclaim our cheque which is a lot of money as we are pensioners. We have had telephone calls saying that the case is being heard and for another £2,500 they could win our case but, after finding the Mindshare site, no further monies have been sent – and it’s all gone quiet – I wonder why???

      • Rippedoff says:

Hi Barbara, I totally sympathise, these parasites pick on vulnerable people in a very clever way. Don’t beat yourself up over this, they are very clever and well organised, pity I did not find this site 24 hrs before I did, it would have saved me £600

  3. Mrs H says:

Do these people ever give up? Tonight cold called by Steve from a company called Solutions, told him I wasn’t interested and hung up!!
I did email you all the paperwork regarding Key Properties but have received no comment or acknowledgement from you so far.

  4. T. Smith says:

We were contacted by TP Associates in mid November last year and were offered the same mediation services as discribed here. we were very dubious, after being disapointed with a purchase made to DWVC. However, we agreed and handed over more than £400 for translation fees after we refused to pay £619.

I have since emailed and called numerous times, but they have disappeared, After the promise of recovering our money.

Thats twice that ive been caught, it wont happen again. Gutted!!!!

    • Mrs H says:

Poor you, we have been caught out twice as well, it is very interesting though as they phoned me non-stop and then the last call stated that they had seen this website and to take no notice of it, and coincidentally now since the phone calls have stopped.

  5. Barbara says:

    Barbara
We too have been contacted by Rebecca Dean of TP Associates, Coventry regarding our ILG (DWVC) membership. I didn’t suspect anything at first so sent our documents to say we were eligible for the refund of “Cashback” together with a cheque for just over £1,000 (for translation services over in Spain). Went to mediation on 5th December but was unsuccessful and is now going to Litigation over in Spain beginning Jan 2012. They have asked for another £3,000 for mediation/litigation fees which, if unsuccessful, will be refunded. Money to be sent by bank transfer today so that they can take our case further. Have we been conned yet again??? It sounds so plausible that you want to believe, yes, we could get our £32,000 back. What do we do now? On one hand it sounds so good yet deep down you feel you are being “taken for a ride”. Where can you go for some help that doesn’t involve scams??

    • Dear Barbara,
      Thank you for your comment.
We are really sorry to hear that you have paid them money and on top of it they are now requesting even more.
Please do not pay this as they won’t stop and ask for more and more and you won’t see a penny of the supposed court case.
We will send you more information by email
      Kind regards
      Customer Care

      • Barbara says:

Thank you for your reply. I wonder now if there are any reputable companies out there who will help!!!
I have always been very careful about “scams” – this one sounds so plausable.

  6. Ian says:

I was phoned by KATIE of TP Associates, offering to recoup money paid to DWVC. Having read comments above I was ready with questions when she came back to me. She said she was sitting in an office in Coventry. She said all I would pay was €322 (recoverable) court fee. I could pay the office in Coventry in GBP but they would charge me up to £50 to transfer it to Spain. Assuming the case was successful, they would send me a cheque for (up to) £15,000 along with an invoice for 10% of the cheque. There was no up-front fee (only the court fee of about £250).
Can you see any problem – the maximum I would loose would be the court fee.

    • Hi Ian,
      Thanks for your comment.
There is no problem in paying money, but why would you?.. knowing they are NOT in Coventry as they are in Spain, there is no such thing as a court case, so there is no such thing as a court fee, and all they have done in the conversation is lie to you.
On top of it £50 to transfer money to Spain? They are in Spain!
These people are not to be trusted.
      Kind regards

  7. Mr & Mrs H says:

We have just been contacted by the above and asked to pay £325 euros to the Mercantile court in Spain by bank transfer, we had already decided not to go ahead before seeing this site having been conned by Excalibur and Half Moon Holdings not to mention G & G associates, as the above says why can’t they take it out of the final payment. We are fed up! They rang us at 5.30 no doubt after getting nowhere with the above correspondent, Rebecca is emailing all the details and ringing me on Tuesday, she won’t get a penny from us!!

    • Thank you for your comment on the blog.
That is a lot of companies you have been delaing with.
Let us send you more information and see if we can help you with claiming a refund for the money paid.

  8. Alan says:

Hi I have just been contacted by TP associates and asked for an upfront fee like the rest I said take it from the monies you can obtain on my behalf. I dont think they liked that so I’ll steer well away. I have been contacted several times over the past two weeks by various companies all of which are really scams Procall, Ramirez & Ramirez, halfmoon, Redrock etc etc. Why don’t our MEP’s do something about these blatant theives? Why is the law so lax in Spain we need to pressure all MEP’s to change the way Spain allows this theft and crack down hard as a condition of any sovereign debt bailouts.

    Cheers AC.

  9. Barry says:

9.12.11 Just been contacted by TP associates – they are ringing back on Monday to give me time to dig out my DWVC paperwork. In the meantime I will be receiving an e-mail which explains their company status and policy! Will keep you informed.

  10. Jill says:

I was contacted by Lucy of T.P.Associates of Coventry this afternoon. She did not want any money upfront! The only payment I would have to make would be the Court fee – payable direct to the Spanish Court. We would be invoiced for 10% of the money recovered after it had been awarded. ‘Lucy’ sounds very confident of getting the money, and very convincing, but I am glad to have found this website and to have read others’ comments. How would we know that we had genuinely been awarded any money? and would the invoice from T.P.Associates have to be paid BEFORE we received this award? Where would the award come from as Incentive Leisure Group are in liquidation with NO assets?
    Jill

    • Mr & Mrs H says:

We too have been contacted by them, only Danielle and Rebecca, I have today received an email to prove they are genuine and they are ringing tomorrow, since finding this website will not be dealing with them, and after being conned by Excalibur, credit card company are refusing to refund money stating that we entered into a contract, so don’t believe any clause that says will refund if bogus because they won’t. Also conned by G & G associates, someone rang ages ago and when told no money given before I get mine decided they couldn’t help me!!

      • Dear Mrs. H.
We are sending you more information today about how to claim the refunds of monies paid with credit cards.
Don’t pay anymore money out to any company.
        Kind regards

    • Gordon says:

Your story is very similar to my experience withT.P Associates. I was contacted by John Kenley who seemed sincere and very knowledgable on the different laws which applied in Spain, and which extended the ablity to recover moneys lost in the Incentive Leisure?DWVC cash back scam. To my shame I took the bait and paid by bank transfer Eur 260
to cover initial Court Fees, which would be returnable (included in the compensation figure agreed). Subsequent phone calls kept me up todate on “progress” i.e. the associates of Incentive Leisure, e.g. DWVC wished to settle out of court and negotriations with them had started.
Yesterday I was informed that an aggreement had been reached resulting in me being offered £8750, but before this amount could be released the 10% to cover their costs (£875) had to be paid for their work on my behalf before the balance £7875 could be delivered by courier to my home.
II asked whether I could pay by credit card and was advised that this was not possible.
I then became more streetwise (rather than a 78 year old who tends to always looks for the good in people) and thankfully found the Mindtimeshare site. Thanks to the existance of this site and the comments I read I have not transfered the £875.

      • Barbara says:

Like you, I was contacted by John Kenley the other day advising that there was a firm out of court settlement of our claim. I answered saying that we would be happy for them to carry on with our claim but there there would be no more monies forthcoming from us and to take their commission out of our settlement. Mr Kenley replied that the settlement is in Pounds Sterling and would the amount be acceptable to us; he professed to know nothing of “the commission”? He wants to speak to us over the telephone. This company sounds so plausible but after being caught out originally, they are not getting any more monies from us. Will let you know outcome of telephone call – should he ring! By the way, he says he is Legal Advisor?? Can’t find any confirmation of this though! Why is this company still trading and getting away with giving people all this heartache??

      • T. Smith says:

We have also been contacted by John Kenley, last week. He was claiming exactly the same as previous posts. After we have already been caught out and reported this to the police, he asked for the Police Ref No, which i gladley gave. I told him that we were not prepared to pay anything else and its now gone quite.

To be honest i’m still not convinced if they a legitimate or not. time will tell.

      • colin bailey says:

Hi Gordon I have also been conned by TP Associates I had to pay an upfront fee for mediation which they said was 99% successfull however they came back to me and said that mediation was not successfull as DWVC had gone into liquidation but they were going to persue it through the spanish courts but would need further money up front and as you can imagine they were told where to go, Wish I had found this site earlier.
        Colin

  11. Alex says:

I too have been recently contacted by TP Associates wanting £800+ for translation fees
Again this site has saved me the embarrassment of the lost of more money to the scam
    merchants.
The major problem is that ” on the surface” they seem so credible..
In future I will have nothing to do with anyone who wants money up front.

    • Dear Alex,
      Thanks for your message.
Yes TP Associates has been very busy by the comments we receive.
Glad you knew to find the blog and read all about it before paying.
      Kind regards

  12. Keith says:

Have been contacted by TP Associates 7th December 2011
Asked for nearly £700 translation fees
Bearing mind your comments , will give a wide berth

  13. Alan Howe says:

We also have been contacted by TP Assocs.30.11.2011 also guaranteeing success but we must pay £298.16 by bank transfer for court costs which will be returned win or lose. It all seems too good to be true and probably is. We will never find out as we have been caught out once too often.

    • glen says:

  14. Brian Hart says:

Hi all, I am being chased by TP Associates and cannot decide if they are for real. As always it sounds ok, with promises of money back if they are unsuccessful. They say they have 120 successful litigation claims, but is there any proof except their word.
Has anyone else had dealings with them?
    Regards, Brian

    • Donald Taylor says:

      Hi Brian,
TP Associates are also chasing me at present – in fact every few days – last night was the latest.
Costs have never been discussed but they now want me to send copies of my DVWC cert and reclaim cert.
Having been caught previously by Blue Chip will give TP Associates a wide berth !!

      Rgds Donald

    • Hi Brian,
      Thanks for your message.
Latest on this one is that they are not based in Coventry but in Spain!!
120 successful claims? Where are these people?
And now knowing they are in Spain, what about the law which actually does not allow companies offering legal services to cold call customers?
Don’t do it…it will save you a lot of grief!
      Kind regards

  15. rena mcleod says:

  16. Martin Summers says:

Abbey Services were based at Coventry. Any connection do you think?

    • Hi Martin,
Latest we know is that TP Associates is actually based in Spain….the Coventry Address is only a forwarding address.
      Why are we not surprised?
      Kind regards

  17. mr denis white says:

my wife and i have been contacted by TP Associates about them representing us in mediation with DWVC they want a upfront payment of £485 for translation and 10% of any money we receive .as we have been conned before it will not happen again.

  18. Rob Farmer says:

I was contacted by a company called Holiday Rentals Direct today. They say they have a buyer for our DWVC membership, but they require a deposit/retainer from me. they say I can pay by card for our own protection. Are they to be trusted and are we protected anyway.

    • Alan Price says:

      Hi Rob,

Do not believe any thing they say, we had the same call, paid over £1000 on credit card as a retainer, but guess what the buyers pulled out. You don’t actually see the contract untill after you have paid the money and then its too late, we rang our credit card company before paying the money taking names, dates and time, we then took photo copies of every thing we had and took notes on phone calls we recieved. If we hadn’t done this i’m sure we wouldn’t have a claim on getting our money back it looks like we will get our money back but it’s not automatic, you have have to proof your case. Now we have had a call from a medation company from Essex claiming they can get our money back and yes they want £320.00 upfront, told them they can take it out of the reclaim they say they can get from us, strangely not had a phone call since, we have now cut our losses and no one will get another penny from us. Good Luck.
