Sale fallen through with United Online and now TS Consultants invite you to a meeting with a corporate buyer?

For those who paid a retainer fee to United Online http://wp.me/p1kmoi-7V and are now told the sale has fallen through, PLEASE read this blog for the next chapter of their lies!

People cheated into paying a retainer fee by United Online, are passed to TS Consultants http://wp.me/p1kmoi-9t who claims to be working with larger companies who are buying timeshare for their employees.

TS Consultants  Tel: +34 971 679 151  Carrer D’Arago 141, Ibiza 07800, Spain   http://thetsconsultants.com explains that in order to sell the timeshare, the owner has to travel to Spain, this can be Benidorm, Mallorca and we even have now a consumer who has been invited to Fuengirola.

We already placed a warning on this blog (http://wp.me/p1kmoi-bT) about the company who is waiting for the timeshare owner in Mallorca, PDCI, Property Development Consultants International +34 971 606 005 Club de Golf Son Quint, Carretera Son Vida s/n 07013 Palma de Mallorca, Spain    http://pdci.es , but after a bit more research and more information from timeshare consumers who went to the meeting we want to share their experience with you.

This is what happens at the meeting:

The meeting takes place at the offices of PDCI – Property Development Consultants International S.L.; their representative explains to the timeshare owners that they were not purchasing their ownership but transferring it, and they are solely acting as agents for Vacation Consultants Ltd.

They tell them that monies are put into trust, the timeshare owner has to send certificates within 21 days of the anniversary on an annual basis for 5 years after which time they will be paid the agreed (purchase) amount of £9756.50 plus £2000 which they pay to them at that meeting, plus £5395 which is still to be paid. If this were a bona fide scheme the timeshare owner would be saving £6000+ in maintenance fees over that period. (This is an example of people who actually went and purchased)

When checking on Google for Vacation Consultants Ltd. It appears they were dissolved in 2002; however the timeshare owner was given bank account details into which they were supposed to pay the outstanding amount.

The reward scheme is run by Loyalty Reward Scheme S.L. Apartado de Correos 837, 29620 Torremolinos, Malaga. The document with details of the scheme is briefly shown at the meeting, but not made available for people to take away. (??!!)

At the meeting the timeshare owner is also issued with a letter which states they can claim a minimum of 5% and up to 100% of the value of the reward. When questioned by the owner, the representative replied it has never paid out less than 70%.

After returning home the timeshare owner emailed PDCI telling them they did not wish to continue. They responded with a different offer.

Apart from the above being all very dubious and unclear, the amount of money to be paid upfront is definitely not the taken lightly!

People who travelled to Mallorca and did not sign up for this scheme did not get any money refunded for travel costs and neither the initial retainer fee paid to United Online!

      Last Sept I was contacted by United Online. They promised to sell my CLC timeshare before the annual membership was due in December. I foolishly gave them a credit card payment for £1,235 – paid in Euro. They never replied to e mails, impossible to phone them, numbers kept being unobtainable. Eventually they said they had a buyer who had paid them 25% of the promised amount but they wouldn’t pay the balance. I was told by United Online that they had managed to subsequently sell it to a corporate firm rather than an individual and was contacted by another firm of con artists – Alistair Bentley of TS Consultants. He said I had to fly over to meet them – which I knew was another con trick.

      They promised verbally to sell my timeshare in 8 weeks from 12.9.11. When the 8 weeks were up I contacted the Credit Card company. They said I would have to wait 6 months before they would reimburse me. This they did on 13 April. However, the Credit card company rang me today to say that United Online had disputed the refund,.The Credit card company said that they are sending me a copy of something I allegedly signed. This seems very sinister – I bet they have forged my signature.

      What are the chance of the Credit card debiting me with the £1,235? I’d be grateful to hear from anyone who knows.

    Just a quick update..We have now spoken to Blue Horizons and had a very good discussion with them. It would appear that they are unaware of what TS Consultants are doing. To be fair they were not happy with how their company was was being presented by TS Consultants.
    I have agreed to send them all our communication from TS Consultants and United Online as they want to take it up directly with TS Consultants. As an offer of goodwill they have offered to pay our flight charges.
    I have also directly emailed both United Online and TS Consultants with our findings but …you’ve guessed it..heard nothing.

      Hi, we too appear to have been stung by United Online. We paid a retainer of over £1200 by credit card and were told a German buyer had been found etc. The completion date was set at 7th November but when nothing happened we were told the buyer had asked for more time – until 25th November and surprise surprise nothing transpired. We are trying to get our money back through Barclaycard and have reported them to Action Fraud. I have today written to their Spanish address and emailed them to advise we want our money back. I have also left a message on 0845 3836343 and will await the next development.
      Has anyone succeeded in getting money back from any source.

    A quick update to my previous post.
    I have tried calling and leaving several voicemails on the TS Consultants number but after a week I have heard nothing regarding the questions I asked and some formal confirmation that we would not be subject to a sales presentation. I also requested a formal booking confirmation regarding the hotel – again nothing received. I have also called and emailed United Online but again nothing.
    I have called Blue Horizons and left messages to say that I would not be attending their meeting (don’t want to lose any more money).
    I have cancelled my credit card just in case they try to take any more payments.

    On a more positive note I have been on the TATOC website and registered for one of the resellers that are recommended. They appear a lot more professional….at least Iam better informed now and on the look out fior any thing ‘dodgy’.

    However I would like to report these scammers….has anybody else tried??

    Yes we are in exactly the same position as you mentioned above.
    We are due to meet next weekend (10th Dec). However since I saw a previous blog about TS I have been trying to get some formal email stating what would take place. I have also chased the sales guy at TS in order to get him to confirm or deny the comments made in the blog – nothing from him for over a week.
    I have also been back to United Online but again noithing from them.
    Obviously we are now concerned and considering not attending as we do not want to sign up to what they are offering.
    I have paid a retainer to United Online and the flights have been booked – Iam going to try and cancel (don’t hold too much hope). Iam also going to try and call Blue Horizons and again try and get some formal note as to what they will be doing (during one call with Blue Horizons I did ask and the woman said it depends on circumstances – warning bells.

    I think its a case of ‘burnt fingers’ and accept the loses…………
    Any advice greatly received..

      In the event you do attend the meeting, don’t take your credit card or any other payment method with you.
      Is this a meeting with Blue Horizons in Fuengirola?
      If so, they are selling a dubious discount Travel Membership Club..
