This alert goes out for those timeshare consumers who have been approached by a supposed Lawyers office called Alvarez y Velazquez in Alicante.
Their website www.alvarezyvelazquez.com is not working at the moment and their phone numbers +34 669186462 or Tel /Fax +34 965992080 neither. The address quoted on the paperwork Calle de Rafael Tirol 6, 03560 Alicante does not seem to exist.
Alvarez y Velazquez have been calling mainly Dutch speaking timeshare consumers in the past year, claiming to be able to recover money from the timeshare companies and requesting a 10% upfront fee for their implications in this process.
The main contact persons are a lady called Annieck de Vos and a Jaap de Groot who presents himself as a lawyer and calls from a mobile number in Spain +34 657680771
Once the first payment is done, Alvarez and Velazquez start to correspond with the timeshare consumer about numerous charges which pop up during the process of the refund claim and the “Spanish Government” paying out the money to the timeshare owner. These charges go from lawyer costs, legal fees, notary costs and IBI (Property tax for real estate in Spain!) and IVA (VAT)
They back this whole story up with documents which seem to come straight from the courthouse in English or Dutch (!!) and with official stamps from the judges etc.
The payments are done to other individuals who present themselves as notaries, like an individual called Alejandro Gabriel Kania Alonso or a Mr. Saeed Orandi, with address Calle Carlos Sentí 25, 03700 Denia, Telephone +34 966426469 and the same fax as Alvarez y Velazquez: +34 965992080 or another supposed “notary” called Joerg Felix Uehlinger with fax number +34 966182492
All together a very elaborated set up with the sole purpose of getting as much money out of consumers as possible and leaving their victims behind with enormous money loss and no sale or anything.
As the payments are done through bank transfer, there is no way to recover the money unless these people are taken to court!
