Timeshare Mediation Services, a cold calling Claims Company.

A new company has started cold calling this week by the name of Timeshare Mediation Services.

Timeshare Mediation Services cold calls timeshare consumers and explains them how they can help with claiming a refund under the Consumer Credit Act.

In order to assess the case of the timeshare consumers they need to have a look at his paperwork and will decide if they can help them indeed with the refund.  Timesharemediation2

If they can take up the case a payment of £599 upfront is requested.

In the follow up email they send after the initial cold call, Timeshare Mediation Services explains they are a team made up by Customer Services Agents, Legal Advisers and Legal Administrators.

That sounds good, but would you not expect at least more information about the company? A company Registration number? Or the names of the Legal Administrators involved?

The website www.timesharemediation.co.uk  was launched after they used another one before:  www.timesharemediationservices.co.uk which was registered on the 28th of March 2013, and doesn’t supply a lot of more information.

There is an address: Barclays House, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, HP19 8DB and a phone number to contact: 0203 393 0697 although they do mention they have offices in the UK and Spain.

The email used is admin@timesharemediationservices.co.uk

Again on the web they mention “Legal Services for Timeshare Owners” but the lack of basic company information, privacy policy and other details on the same web, make it very doubtful any legal person is involved.

So we really recommend anybody that is cold called by this company who seems to know all your details, and offers you a service for a substantial upfront fee, to think twice before sending off any payment.

    I have to say a huge thankyou for the comments from everyone on this site especially concerning timeshare mediation services ltd southampton.I was so close to sending the so called documents they required and sign the so called contract {that i may ad look like my 8 year old daughter put together}I have been conned before so i thought i would have learnt by now.I must say they are very convincing…

      My parents were initially cold called by someone from Willard Thomas (solicitors?) who ‘passed on’ their details to Timeshare Mediation Services who then made an appointment for their ‘Senior Consultant’ David Rhodes to visit my parents. David Rhodes was very plausible, he showed my parents anonymised photocopies of letters purporting to show refunds under section 75 of the credit card act for various amounts in the thousands from LloydsTSB bank, he showed them a scare photocopy of an article supposedly from the Mirror about debt collectors and bailiffs coming to people’s house, he showed them his driving licence and passport as proof of who he said he was (the company is ‘based’ in Southampton yet his driving licence shows an address in Newcastle!) and he assured them it wasn’t worth him scamming them for £400! He was asking for £395 up front for admin costs with a further £400 on them receiving their section 75 award. He dropped lots of names like OMIC and Municipal y Registral, econsumer.gov, money expert etc. and tried to convince them that they wouldn’t be able to do anything because they couldn’t speak Spanish. Luckily I was there and he had to agree to me researching his company before my parents would engage his company to act on their behalf. Interestingly, he warned us that this website would have negative information against his company but tried to get us to ignore it by saying that Alberto Garcia was a Timeshare ‘criminal’. He still rang back as agreed with my parents, but thankfully they haven’t agreed to anything. Hopefully this will be a warning to others and they can take precautions.

I have also been contacted again from the said company stating that the site was bound to try and discredit them.I told them it’s the general comments from other time share owner’s that made me see that their company was yet another scam.I don’t think they will contact me again.

    I have been contacted twice by a very nice sounding woman called Sue, from Timeshare Mediation, who seemed to know a lot about our history of timeshare and was very plausible re section 75 and what we may be able to claim back. However, when she said they needed £599 up front to be paid into a Nat West account and they then emailed me an amateur looking pay in slip, alarm bells rang so I decided to google their company and came to this! I won’t be forwarding them any money!

    We were called by Timeshare Mediation Services, from Southampton. Because of the cold callers, we asked if there would be someone who could come out and see us, a meeting was arranged for yesterday Thurs. 5th Dec. Mr Robert Pinker, arrived asking to see our paper work, he said it would be possible of getting £6,000.00 back, for a charge of £795.00. He would come back tomorrow Frid. to collect copies of our paperwork, and for us to sign a contract, and also to collect a cheque for the fee of £795.00. He said there would be no problem as the company banked with Nat West.
    It seems another c**, I wouldn’t mind but he showed me his passport, and pictures for his driving
    licence he was applying for. When leaving our home he promptly got in the car where his driver was waiting, got in the drivers side and drove off!!!!

    timeshare mediation services called £599 at first to claim our lost are so called mis sold club class holidays now it his £350 for avisit from mr peter Johnson with no guarantee will refuse the offer kevin

    Have had several calls from Timeshare Mediation Services regarding our Holiday Club Membership with DWVC. (part of Incentive Leisure Group) who went into liquidation. Unfortunately I know we cannot claim back the money we paid in 2004 to join the club under Section 75 as the deposit was paid on a Visa Debit Card and the remainder by Bank Transfer. We expected to get some money back with the Cashback scheme, but as we all know now this is never going to happen. The lady has suggested that they can claim for us through the Financial Ombudsman for breach of contract, that under the terms of the liquidation this would only be possible until February 2014 when all remaining assets would go back to the directors. She is asking for £599 to make our claim, but this can be paid into an Escrow account at the bank so that the money would not be paid to them until their claim was successful and after we had received the settlement into our bank account. Is this a “safe” method of paying or are we being duped again? Seems to be a new twist on getting people to pay up front.

    I am a little puzzled – having spoken to a chap called David, he has been very pleasant and not at all surprised that you were very anti their company. They have been very helpful and certainly I have spoken to people who HAVE had their money back.

    Good Morning I have recently received a call from Time share Mediation Services . Had a lady called Tracy but the number that it came from was 02071830519 . Said she was calling from Aylesbury and gave me all the business details. Also told me the fee was £599 pound but could be put as a delayed payment with Paypal or with Nat West Bank. Have missed two calls from the person concerned. Will no doubt get a call at some stage

      Dont do it ! I had the same but when you finaly say “NO” you will get a call from some one called Norman Barns in the isle of Man saying that they are from Chatman Chase and Co. Esplanade lane, Douglas Isle of man. He will tell you that they are receivers as Green Security Services has gone into Liquidation and they have alot of money which is for customers that green sercurity were working with,There is NO one there by that name my family live in the Isle of man and its been checked out by them, Esplanade lane is mostly flats. check out on the internet. A man called Andrew Shankly is the next person to contact you who tells you the exact sum that Green Security did you out of. He can also tell you that Raphael Luciano is the person that you made bankers draft to before Green security went bust and that he is in Spain “Lapping it up so to speak” if you know what I mean. that was his comment Yeh I bet he is. I said I didn’t have any money so he gets a Spanish man to ring me back saying that he is from the tax man in Spain (Alberto Del O HOYAH) NOT SURE OF THE SPELLING and that it is my Debt and I would have to pay £1575 as tax on themoney due to me when I say I haven’t got that sort of money he sugest that I take it from my savings. when I say that I dont have any savings as green security had them he tells me to go to the whole in the wall to draw money from my master card, I tell him that my bank will only pass small amounts and that I dont have a pin number to my card, he then say’s he will get in touch with Andrew Shankley who will ring me with in two hours. this man or A .SHANKLEY HAS NOT RANG BACK. This Spanih Tax man tells you to put the money into a Halifax bank account which Shankley has given to you then to save the receipt and send it to then because they have to add a percentage on to whats comming back to you I beleive that they are just another scam but they are pestering me to pay this money with what I can’t get. they rang me this morning telling that I had contacted them when I haven’t saying that I have a tax bill in Spain and it has to be paid because I have the money being held in spain when I say I dont have access to the sort of money they want he say’s for god sake you have a tax bill I ask how do I have a tax bill for some thing I haven’t got he said you have money in spain and it has to be paid I told him all this scam is doing my head in , then got short with me and put the phone down on me. I dont know if these people are true but I dont have money and its up to you what you do. but be aware it could be another scam the chances are 50-50 I would say of it being true.

    My dad has just been contacted by a ‘John Martin’ on behalf of Mediation Services and claiming that they can claim money back on our behalf for a mis- sold illegal timeshare from Lion Resorts, for a price of £350. The more questions we asked the nastier he became and the faster he spoke so that we could not understand what he was even explaining. He said that Lion Resorts were going into liquidation and that my dad would be liable to their debts as a shareholder. At the end of the first phone call he gave me a tel no. and said I could call back if I wanted to go ahead. In the meantime I found this site and explained my suspicions to my dad. John Martin called us back within 20 mins and my dad said no we do not want to go ahead as this is a scam, to which John Martin got really nasty and started saying he is going to put a disclaimer in so that we would not even be able to take steps to try and claim any money back ourselves as he will tell the Consumer Association that we do not want our money back, and the disclaimer will prevent us taking any further steps. I said please do not do this as I would like to take steps myself to try and resolve this but we do not want to pay out any more money than the nearly £6000 we have already paid out, to which he said he will be putting the disclaimer in as we think we are so clever, and just because he can and then he hung up the phone. This nasty man has worried my OAP father even more and has upset us so much, but we don’t think we have a leg to stand on.

      These people really needed to be got on tape, what you are describing is getting very close to blackmail, i.e. making an unwarranted demand with menaces. They are obviously getting very desperate. This company has got no instructions to act for any consumer association, and in any case he would not be able to cancel any claim, that is the sole right of the consumer.
      I don’t think your dad is liable for anything if they went into liquidation..

        You are right, it is only the consumer who can decide about a claim it they want to go ahead or pull out. But as mentioned before, this whole issue about the “Consumer Association” is dubious as there is no such thing under that name.
        Spain has different consumer associations / organisations but they have all their own name, like the OMIC for example.

    I also have paid £350 and now realise that this is a SCAM site. There must be some way in which this Company can be stopped form doing this to private punters so any advice would be very helpful.

    Andrew, The link doesn’t work because the blog has been taken down out of frustration, nothing to do with the scammers. There are two messages in support of JD Knights from an imposter.
    Timeshare Mediation Services are now claiming to be working on behalf of the Spanish Consumer Association. I don’t believe anybody will get anything back. There is no reference to which resort or star rating in the certificates, just the entitlement to however many weeks, etc.

        No further details I’m afraid.They actually stated that they had got our details by this means, (Spanish Consumer Association) last time it was the European C.A.! I got quite heated and disconnected the call so I’m not of the mind to speak to them again, If they are daft enough to call again I might try, but it’s rubbish, anyway, I’m sure.
        Lion Resorts state that all their data is on a bespoke software system, so that it would be impossible to export member’s records as a file I.E excel, I have had my differences with them, and am no longer a member, but I have no reason to suspect otherwise.
        I just don’t know where they get our details, it would be interesting to hear if anybody who bought in by bank transfer has been approached, that would narrow the field…….

    mediation services have been in touch once again £350 pound to get our money back from our credit card 2008 im not paying any more money on card to be told .. quote if any thing did happen I can claim back under section 75 what ……. we already £2600 down ….. forget it its in the the bloody bin under the carpet what ever ,,,,,, no more money

    i am waiting for a telephone call from these people today i was informed yesterday by telephone and a follow up email they would get our money back i was informed lion were bust. my husband looked at your website for us to realise another con i was informed they had been appointed by some company to act on our behalf

    Just been contacted by a Gary Thomas who said Club Class had gone into liquidation in January and he could get our money back under Section 75 but wanted a fee of £300 first!! Will be ringing back for our answer – one he will not like! Mary

    We had similar experiances with Timeshare Media Services. John Ballen had our details from Jan 2009. He and his ‘Legal’ man were very convincing. However having been caught out by West Management and Odessy 7 we are not paying out anymore cash. TMS even said that we could be involved in having to pay Tax etc., he rambled on and on and lost me completely. I put the phone down! We wonder who else is going to try and con us next?

    I have been contacted by them today, fortunately alarm bells started ringing when they wanted my credit card details to put through a payment of £350. IF they were genuine why do they need money up front – I would expect something more along the lines of “we get your money back and take a commission of £350 out of it”. I feel Lion Vacation Club are a bit co* – I certainly don’t want to be co**** out of any more money!
    They will be calling me back tomorrow and I shall be telling them to “go away”. Thanks to the person on Trip Advisor who directed me to this site!

    a quick search on the internet shows that Timeshare Mediation’s website (www.timesharemediation.co.uk) is registered to a company in Tenerife called O WHAT A NIGHT SL. This company, according to the Spanish Mercantile Registry (Companies House) deals in
    a) The import, export, buying and selling wholesale and retail, machines, furniture and all kinds of office supplies.
    b) The purchase, sale, acquisition, sale, lease and operation, by any means, of all kinds of furniture.

    I dont think a Spanish furniture and office supplies shop would be very well placed to offer legal advice about timeshare!

    Having just come back from a holiday with Lion Resorts, I can confirm that they have not gone bankrupt and are still operating. I dont know what all the fuss is about, I had a great holiday and am looking forward to going back in September!

    Why dont people realise that these companies (jd knight and timeshare mediation) are cold callers? They cant say for sure where they got your details from and like all cold callers theyre only after one thing, our money! Nothing they say makes sense and their websites look like they were built in about 2 minutes! If you’re contacted by these conmen do what we did and just tell them where to go!

    I was also called by time share mediation services: Jeff.
    We purchased a lion resorts package in 2010 that included RCi experience membership. He claimed if we paid £350 by credit card they could start claiming our money back that we paid in 2010.
    He knew everything about what we had paid a bit freaky but said do we want our money back!!!
    but after reading how many people are out there.

      Looked at the link you gave, there is a link to their blog, which doesn’t work. Timeshare Mediation Services are pushing people to look at trip advisor, I wonder if they have set up the posts themselves??

    I was cold called by Timeshare Mediation on 7th May 2013 and ‘Samantha’ knew all about my having bought into Holiday Experience with Lion Resorts and informed me that the company has gone bust. It was explained to me that Timeshare Mediation could help me using a Section 75 claim and sent me an email with some details when I requested them to do so.
    As I had no details regarding the company I decided to check out the email address and thankfully came upon your site. Needless to say I will not be taking Timeshare Mediation up on their offer of help.

      We also purchased the RCI experience through Lion Resorts.
      We have, this week, received phone calls from Timeshare Mediation and an e-mail quoting section 75.

      Having already been contacted by J D Knight Associates offering to purchase our weeks for a ‘very rich man’, and offering to represent us as having been mis-sold on another occassion, we were obviously very dubious and contacted Mindtimeshare.

      They confirmed our fears so when we receive our next call later today we will let them know that we are most certainly not interested.

      What will their next scam be??

      ive been contacted to they told me jd Knights had got some people their money back which was kind of them ive also been contacted by s.i.p.capital they are bogus too has any one information on them and where do all these different scam people get all of our information someone says they have contacted the tv programme that deals with scams is there any news of this

        complain to the Department of Business on 0845 601 3546, never pay money out to people you do not know as it seems plenty of people are being approached to pay x to receive y.
