Mason Goodwin & Lisco which claims to be a UK based Legal Consultancy having access unlawfully to timeshare owners’ confidential information, and strangely they are not meeting their potential clients in the UK, but in Tenerife!
In March this year we placed a warning on our blog: https://mindtimeshare.wordpress.com/2011/03/23/beware-of-mason-goodwin-lisco/
Unfortunately we are still receiving messages from concerned timeshare consumers who have paid for these legal services and are waiting for the positive outcome in the “120 days” this company claims to need for coming back to a customer. Of course after 4 months they finally realize nothing happened and a lot of money has been lost for fake services. (Between £400 and £2000)
Latest and newest trick upon their sleeves is the usage of a supposed “real testimonial email” of a very happy customer from Mason, Goodwin and Lisco who takes the time to write and send his email to the potential customer of this dubious legal consultancy.
One consumer told the supposed customer services agent from Mason, Goodwin & Lisco, Ms. Pat Courtney that he wasn’t very confident in the dealings of her company, received an email that literally states the following:
“….they helped me and advised me extremely well, I didn’t want to pay there fee at first, but they did help me with the resale companies and when I checked things out on the internet everything they said was true, I also checked them out and found some bad stuff about them, but as they said to me that people will write bad stuff about companies who help people, I took a risk and went with them and now am happy I did.”
Spanish law does not allow Spanish Law Firms to cold call timeshare owners.
They invite the timeshare owner to Tenerife on a 7 day stay, accommodation free, you only pay the flights, to speak to one of their “specialist consultants”. Why Tenerife?
So who would be representing Mason Goodwin & Lisco in the meetings in Tenerife? UK solicitors? Spanish solicitors?
Are there any happy timeshare owners out there who paid an upfront fee and now received all the money promised by Mason, Goodwin & Lisco? Please let us know…
And if you unfortunately paid them money and did not receive any of the promised services, then please also write to us as we can help you to seek a refund!
I wrote a message a week ago about DWVC or distinctive leisure group . is it tru they have been closed down .
Hi, it was just over a year ago but I too believed their scam. Fortunately I paid by VISA and claimed back a full refund through them. Keeping a log of all the emails and phone calls helped.
Also paid £625.oo to Mason Goodwin & Lisco and of course now found out they are just racking money off people. Had some nice phone calls from them telling me everything was going ok until the 120 days had gone and then just a load of rubbish when I ring.
I went to Tenerife with my daughter last week via “Extra weeks” which we have found to be linked with “Bonus weeks” and the “Gift Company” and spent a total of 8 hrs with ” Eze Group”/ “Regency Shores SL” promotion.
Fortunately i did not give in to the constant pressure and frightening tactics of these people but that is because i have been caught before and i am now very wary of these “promotions”.
They did try to prey on my wanting to sell my timeshare and worry me that my children will have to take on my timeshare. As soon as they started showing me figures to “predict” the amount of money i will be spending over 20 years i knew we were going to be “worked on”. When i said there was no way i was able to afford £10,000 in total to “buy in” to the club the figures were reduced and more fear tactics used. The final “offer” to forget the deposit and just get my daughter to pay £95 month just said it all to me and i got them to take us back to our accommodation.
This i am sure will be enough to warn others of what this really is, beware.
Yes, I am one of the stupid people who paid this outfit to get out of my T/S.
They wanted me to go to Tenerife for 7 days to ‘finalise the legalities’.
I am not going and my bank is trying to get a refund of the fee paid by Visa card.
Dear Anthony,
Thanks for your comment in our blog and participation.
At least you are still on time to claim a refund from the bank and you have decided not to go to this meeting in Tenerife.
Think about the money you have saved yourself already by taking that decision! These people are not to be trusted!
