I Have just got money back through my credit company in respect of payment to a Holiday Club Compass Leisure thanks to the advice in a Mindtimeshare newsletter in June 2011 and advice from Alberto. It took over 5 months but persistence and patience paid off. After I initially complained to Compass about their product I got a cold call from Half Moon but gave them short shrift. It confirmed to me that the claims by Compass were as Alberto described the “hot air” and that many of these bogus companies are interlinked. In future I will stick to the maxim “if it sounds to good to be true then it is not true”
    Thanks Alberto
    Regards

I am also one of those suckers! Exactly the same as the others. Please help me get my money back

Hi, my name is Maria and I am one of the suckers too.
Thank You for starting this page! I’m sorry I did not find it before it was too late…

I was contacted last year by a Lisa Eriksson she had buyers for our weeks in Crete. (She even raised the offer.) She told me I would be contacted by her manager, who would give me facts and numbers. I got a reference number, phone number and office hours, and the story …..

When I wondered why they needed money from me, they got their fee from the buyers, they told me
they where in a legal dispute with a owner who had taken the payment from the buyers but not given up the ownership. The money where to ensure I handed over the documents when the courier arrived.

I did not want to give my creditcardnumber over the phone, so I asked for a invoice stating all information (did not think of how easy it is to make a invoice your self that looks proffesional).
Even though I had some time to think, I paid it!

Of course the buyers did not get any money from their bank, and they where so sorry.
When I asked for a refund of my money, they promised to sell our weeks in their “sales weekend” next week. Se a pattern.. Well even I got it this time..I have tried to get hold of them again, but alas…

I was contacted by another sales company yesterday, I think it is the same company I contacted when my husband got sick, they did not promise any sale, even told me it could take some time. I found our weeks on their site, but since it was a couple of years ago I’d forgot all about it.
They contacted me some weeks ago and asked me if our weeks still were for sale. They however do not want any money up front, but the offer is 2000 euro less. They will contact us today to get our answer. I will check name and number properly this time, not pay a cent up front, and keep you posted.
    Best regards

      Hi again.
SURPRISE! IT WAS A COLD CALL, from Viva Connect this time.
This time I had this site up on my computer when she called, and found their name here to, what a surprise.
Her name was Helen, but I wonder if it’s not the same “nice old lady” that called from HM Holdings, they do sound rather alike.
I’m not a very good liar but I did my best.
I told her that I had been fooled by a bogus company called Half-moon holdings and therefore needed more information from her. She’d never heard of Half-moon holdings, until I told her to Google the name, then she had heard something.
She was well aware of the fact that the credit card companies had to refund the money paid by credit card, but money paid by invoice was gone. She was very sympathetic, until I said that I would never again pay any money up front.
She told me she was forced to get 1 495 euro from me as a guarantee deposit, so sorry, her hands were tied, but of course it was all up to me if I preferred to keep my weeks.
Well, I said I’d have to keep my weeks then, since there was no way I’d part from any more money in advance. She hung up…..
I’m sorry I didn’t have the nerve to ask her why there were a warning out for her company…
I’ve tried to remember the erlier call from her associate that she referred to. Her name was Åsa, did not get her last name either, but she sounded a lot younger and not as “nice”.
Åsa said that she was checking if their records were correct, if we were still willing to sell our weeks.
How do they sleep at night?
