As stated in earlier blogs, the hype at the moment seems to be the Mediations companies. Of course resale will always be there, but after the successful claim of the OFT all of the sudden the mediation companies and legal advisory companies appear in bunches out of the blue.
Mediation Solutions – http://www.mediation-solutions.net/ , cold caller, offers a mediation service for an initial upfront fee of £320. Their website was created 4 months ago and they registered around the same time at the UK Companies House under number 07671030 as stated in their web.
On the website they have a UK address as contact but they do point out that there are “satellite offices in Spain” For the UK they have a postal address:
Mediation Solutions Ltd, Building 3, City West Business Park, Gelderd Road, Leeds, LS12 6LN, United Kingdom
And another address as “Head office” in Essex: Mediation Solutions Ltd Registered Office: 2nd Floor, 43 Broomfield Road, Chelmsford, Essex CM1 1SY, United Kingdom
Contact number for head office 0207 043 1890
The address for Spain is not mentioned but for the moment we know that there is one at least in Tenerife with contact number: (0034) 922 736 300
The worrying factor in this case is that they actually contact the consumer claiming they got their details passed on from Mason, Goodwin & Lisco http://wp.me/p1kmoi-50 which is a company more than known on our blog! Not really a good reference I would say!
So consumers who have been duped by Mason, Goodwin and Lisco are now again approached with a similar almost identical pitch of “we can claim for you, come over to Tenerife and we settle the case”
Quote; “We have a team of consultants that assist clients in reclaiming their funds on a daily basis. You are due to receive 90% of these funds, and our consultants take the remaining 10% of these funds as payment, on completion. To sign for your funds, you would need to meet with a consultant in Tenerife within the next 120 days”
Conclusion, a cold calling company, referred by Mason, Goodwin and Lisco as they say, asking for an upfront fee to claim under the Consumer Credit Card Act (1974), asking the consumer to travel to Tenerife (WHY??) and no track record at all of any successful claim.
Have you been called by Mediation Solutions? Please let us know.
I paid £320 to Thomas Peters about 3 months ago – he had ‘a number of Russians’ who were interested in buying, average turnround about 90 days. I got an e-mail from him promising a full refund if the sale hadn’t gone through in 6 months, & as I’d paid by credit card I thought I was covered for any scam. I’ve tried to contact him today for a progress update, but the number on their website is a dead line & a quick check with directory enquiries has revealed no ‘mediation solutions’ at their address. This is another complete sc** run by a bunch of cr****. Now I’m trying to claim my money back, but don’t yet know if I’ll succeed.

i paid mediation solutions £320 seven months ago .i have tried to contact them sixteen times over the past month and have been promised they would phone back each time. seems to me this is a con. they promise in there agreement to get two offers with in 120 working days that was 160 working days ago still no offers or return calls or emails .
I have a client who was scammed by Incentive Leisure who has recently been targeted by Mediation Solutions – I think her responseis to suspect that this is just another scam on the basis that if it looks like a duck……
I have asked a legal connection of mine in Leeds if he has come across them and will post if any feedback comes from that
I bought into, well I paid £10k to South Beach Marketing in Tenerife in 2004. It was a scam, DWVC, the Cash Back was a scam and now Mediation Solutions Ltd are trying to cause even more of a scam. Thomas Peters told me he could get me £14818.00 back £5200 from my Cash Back scheme nd the £9618.00 I paid out, thats some £5200 more than I paid out, BARGAIN, and they only want me to layout £320.00 and they take 10% less the £320. I am so delighted when he calls me next week I am going to offer him £5200 if he gets me my £9618 back a bonus of £3718.20, with no up fromt payment, i.e. no win no fee, but if I see the £8618 in my bank he can have his £5200. Thats should see if this is a further scam or not !!!
Has anyone ever had any success with these people ?
In 2007 my wife and I paid 6995 euros to Terranova to join Club Class holiday club.
We recieved the cashback Europe voucher and were told that a after 5 years investment with them we would recieve all the money back. Last month we recieved a check after successfully completing our claim but only recieved just over £1000.
Over the last five years we were constantly bugged by callers telling us our voucher was invalid but they could help us with our claim. There was always a catch to this though and it usually meant having a trip to Tenerife or a cash sum being paid! Needless to say we did neither.
Now that we seem to have put that behind us, we have two companies stating that they can get our monies back, and more, using section 75.
These companies are Inversion Refunds and Mediation Solution, who have, incidentally, sent me
mediation agreement documents to sign. Again though it’s a case of a fee up front £400 and £320 respectively. They say I can go through this process on my own but say it will be difficult whilst they can process my claim with a much quicker turn around. Can anyone advise me?

I have been hounded since oct last year by this company. they now tell me 20 fays to get my card payment back and a little longer for the rest?
we were scammed in Tenerife, Costa Adeje by Terranova in 2007 to the tune of £7,500. Despite local police enquiries and Interpol we are no further forward. These people are clever. We have had a dozen calls over the the years to claim our moey back at a fee. Mediation Solutions Ltd tried this week. They even sent contacts to us today. It’s very interesting reading and smacks of the style and method I have come to recognise. Another thread to winkle the last drop out of our coffers. We even tell them that we have passed information on to the police regarding the scam. This still doesn’t deter them. I for one will pass this information onto the investigating office responsible for our case.

Hi
I have been contacted by this company and they are meant to be getting back in touch because my Partner and myself got roped!!! into a Holiday Club in Tenerife and was told that we could not have the Money that we gave them back because they said that the Company had gone into administration!!! anyway the Gentleman never mention at any point that we need to pay a Fee!!! I’m now awaiting his phone call back but I will but something in writing also!!!
I was actually looking forward to been able to get a hell of a debt of our Families back and start to have a life!! All I can say is that if I didn’t have back luck then at least I have the knowledge that I’m doing the bravest thing and ADMITTING that I have been a idiot but the thing is there is a hell of a lot of other people who are a lot MORE vunerable than us and god help them if they get caught in this trap.
Hi, i have alo been contacted by Mediation Solutions, only been left a message to call back, but the number sounds as if its been disconnected. I bought a Carpe Diem holiday vouchers scheme who i now believe have gone bust ! It cost me £7500.00 back in December 2003, if any one has any info on how i can claim my money back it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Caroline
Dear Caroline,
Thanks for your message.
You have read the blog about Mediation Solutions so you know our opinion about companies cold calling to offer their service and request an upfront fee.
Regarding claiming a refund for monies paid in 2003, unfortunately the Consumer Credit Act 1974 covers those payments done in the past 6 years, so 2003 is too long ago to claim based on this Act.
I am sorry.
Kind regards

Hi
After being done by holiday rentals for over a £1000.00 we have now be aproached by a company called Mediation Solutions LTD who claim they will reclaim over £10.000 for us but we must pay £320.00 up front, I’ ve told them that we will not pay any thing up front but the man is very convincing, I’ve told him i’m taking paper work to my solicitors to look at first he is calling me next wednesday!!!!! He tells me that he’s been doing this for over 20 years, so i was surprised to read that it is a new business. Is this company just another scam????
Hi Alan,
Thanks for letting us know about this company calling you.
We are not keen on cold callers, and the 20 years in business doesn’t sound very convincing either.
Careful with paying money upfront!
Kind regards
