Newsletter September 2011

Dear Timeshare consumer,

The month of September has been very busy for Mindtimeshare.

At the RDO2 Convention in Marbella, Mindtimeshare was given the opportunity to speak about this project and we took the opportunity to ask all present from timeshare resorts, developers and exchange organisations for their full support and help with prevention of fraud. Awareness is needed, not only with the consumers but also with the resorts and other related organisations. Between all the fight against timeshare fraud will be so much more effective!

Our blog also reached in September record numbers on visitors, 17.580 in total with a record day on visitors the 7th of September when 1004 consumers decided to have a peak on the blog!

There is one thing we would like to ask all the consumers who have contacted us over the past months, please let us know if you recovered all or part of your money. We really would like to know. A lot of people do tell us, but we send out the information to many more and we would really like to know what their situation is, if you need help and most important if you got the refund. Just hit the reply button on this email and put, “yes we got a refund” or part etc. so we can update our records.

Main warning this month goes out for EFTAG which is the new strategic partner of ITRA, claiming to do class actions against resorts. The link to the blog is http://wp.me/p1kmoi-9G  We also placed a warning in Dutch (http://wp.me/p1kmoi-ah) as it seems this time they are opening up the market to other nationalities!

Other biggies on the list are the so called Mediation or Claims companies. We have noticed that there is such a fine line between dubious companies and a genuine service…but really all caution is needed here! Claims companies cold calling a consumer is not a good start….your personal details are not public knowledge and if not given out by you they have obtained them unlawfully. Why would you trust what they tell you then?

Claims companies based in Spain, please remember it is ILLEGAL in Spain to cold call consumers offering legal services! Full stop not to be trusted! And companies claiming to give legal advice with an address as a postbox and a mobile phone for contact are not even worth the benefit of the doubt. In Spain mobile numbers commence with a 6 and new numbers are now given out commencing with a 7.

Main articles on Mediation companies this month were:

http://wp.me/p1kmoi-9c          Mediation Solutions

http://wp.me/p1kmoi-9T          Grade One Marketing Solutions

http://wp.me/p1kmoi-ad          FIH Mediation Services

Main articles on Resale Companies:

http://wp.me/p1kmoi-9t           The TS Consultants

http://wp.me/p1kmoi-9P          Realm Travel Services and Touchdown Holidays

http://wp.me/p1kmoi-a2          Timeshare Services

http://wp.me/p1kmoi-a4          Star Timeshare Store

http://wp.me/p1kmoi-a8          Universal Marketing

And our tips for the month “Once bitten twice shy” http://wp.me/p1kmoi-9w

The above are articles with new names, unfortunately this doesn’t mean the others have stopped their dubious business and for example Timeshare Exit Solutions http://wp.me/p1kmoi-91 , Brashar Litigation http://wp.me/p1kmoi-93  and UK Holiday Consultants http://wp.me/p1kmoi-8q are still very busy cheating people!

Thanks for following us on Twitter, Mindtimeshare Blog and Facebook!

Hi have just got my money returned from lloyds tsb mastercard after 8 months. thanks for your advice, the holiday company has gone broke so lost the orginal money but recovered the scam money.Still getting calls from scam companines trying to sell some thing that is no longer there.
So every body beware, don,t feel such an old fool now.

  2. Briilant news most people have got their monies back.. Is your bank HSBC at all?, they are saying we can not get our money back because Realm Travel took our card details and the money went into an account called Class Business S.L. This was noted on our credit card statement and the bank said it wasnt Realm Travel. So basically bad luck.. Please Reply, as It looks like we are battling with our banks now. And Alberto thank you for your expert advice, it has helped my husband and I so much.

  3. We paid for our scam using a banker draft, is there any chance we would be able to get our money back?, I am assuming not,but you never know.
We were originally enrolled in club class concierge as part of the sale, whereby they would take our timeshare from us and that would be that, yeah right, first mistake, trust anyone…….
We are talking about £7000.00 here so it’s not peanuts….
We still have the timeshare and still have to pay the maintenance fees, even though it says in our contract that Club Class would pay.
It’s a really pity that there are so many people in the timeshare industry who just go out of their way to hurt vulnerable people like myself and my wife so much, says a lot about humanity…….
All we want to do is get out of our timeshare and there is very little if anything we can do about it, if only time travel was an option, I know what I would tell the rep who sold us it in the first place, and there would be a lot of nice choice words involved.

Hello Alberto, I wish I could join these lucky people who got their money back. I’m afraid there’s no chance of us doing so. Anyway we still value your help and guidance. All the best.
