Already invited by Active Marketing UK for a meeting to dispose of your timeshare?

Here goes another alert for yet another company called Active Marketing UK which invites Timeshare Consumers to meetings around the UK under the pretention to discuss their timeshare disposal, or resale to a corporate client.

Active Marketing UK  with Telephone 0203 2803642 Email: admin@activemarketinguk.co.uk and Website: www.activemarketinguk.co.uk have been cold calling for the past weeks to those consumers who own timeshare (information they seem to be aware off) in order to invite them to a meeting.

There is no company registered in the UK Companies House with this name and on the website there is neither complies with any identification information or an address for an office or post. Neither do they give an address on their confirmation email, so all the consumer has is a phone number (without a specific area code) and an email address!

One of the meetings we know off, will be held on the 7th of January 2012 in the Fairbairn House, Fairbairn Place, Kirkton, Livingston, EH54 6TN

It is actually sad to see that the confirmation emails these kinds of companies send out are all similar texts and they all claim the same:

“During your no fee no obligation visit, you will be offered straight forward advice regarding relinquishing your timeshare ownership with the Easy Exit System, you will also be shown various options available to assist you with a genuine and realistic offer for your timeshare”

Unfortunately as we have already so many other warnings on our blog about these meetings, this one again has all the signs of being one and the same set up, a meeting for timeshare disposal that turns out to be a meeting for another investment which can range between another Holiday Club Membership and a Large Villa or Luxury Apartment in a faraway country…

Those who are not interested in paying out one more penny to any of the above mentioned options, will be kindly told there is no such thing as a “Easy exit System” without paying into their “Easy Investment” and send home with empty hands and a day wasted for nothing.

Have you been called from phone number 02032803642 and Invited by Active Marketing UK? Please let us know.

After a couple of calls and confirmatory e-mails from Active Marketing and looking at their rather too slick website, we agreed to go to a meeting in Livingston. The address provided by Active Marketing turns out to be the office of EcoResort Sales. We were assured by Active Marketing that we would be given 2 offers one conditional (I’ll come back to that) and one unconditional. First the “unconditional” offer for our timeshare, this was fairly straight forward. We pay them £2,495 + VAT to get rid of our week. Fairly straight forward even though paying money to sell something you already own is ethically and morally a bit dubious. The conditional offer on the other hand was just plain silly. After lots of very personal questions trying and failing to set up a rapport she eventually got to the point and we were invited to “invest” something like £95,000 in cash or equity from our home in some jungle in The Dominican Republic with a guaranteed annual return of 6% AND our money back after 3 years. We only went because Livingston was reasonably close but needless to say we politely thanked them for the coffee and left. Bit stressful but all in all a fairly entertaining hour on a cold wet Saturday afternoon. P.S. to Pamela the charming sales lady – if you must insist on writing down the key words in your presentation…… learn to spell !

We too have been invited to attend a meeting, several calls now, and that’s how I found your interesting website while researching the company, and thank you.
Can you recommend the best way to dispose of our timeshare floating week in Florida? That’s the information that I can’t seem to find online?

    • Hi Pauline,
Thanks for your comment, your welcome!
Dispose of timeshare in Florida? Have you tried http://www.rdo.org for an updated list of the resale companies that are affiliated to RDO?
There are also comments on the blog of other timeshare owners who advertised on the internet etc.
      Have a look around.
      Kind regards

Active Marketing rang today after I enquired on their website. I have a ‘meeting’ set up for 12th January 2012 in Exeter, Devon, under the pretex that they will give me an offer for my timeshare in Nerja, they will not want any monies from me at all, they will not want to sell me anything, these two main criteria is why I & my wife have agreed to go along

    • Hi Alan,
Thanks for your comment and as you have read on the blog, we have our doubts about these meetings.
But if you do go, please do let us know what it was about as this will be very informative for all our blog readers.
      Thanks in advance.
      Kind regards
