This apparently new company has been brought to our attention by concerned consumers who have been cold called by this company Central de Viajes in Seville.
The name gives the impression we are dealing here with a travel agency, and supposedly a large one as they are called “Centre”
But apart from booking holidays they are also busy with other issues and one of them seems to be timeshare resale. A strange business coming from a travel agent in Seville, a town with no timeshare resorts.
Their address is Avenida San Francisco Javier 7, 41018 Seville and mobile phone number 0034 672 594 926 and fax 0034 954 323 906
Unfortunately this travel agency neither has a website and the email address used for correspondence is email@example.com
The pitch they give on the phone is that they have a buyer for the owner’s timeshare, and the price is very attractive. In order to secure the sale they do request a “security bond” which will be done by bank transfer to a “notary”. The amounts mentioned are approximately 2000€ for the bond!
What security bond? Are they afraid the owner would not want to sell for such an attractive sales price?
Does this Travel Agent Central de Viajes not know that is goes against the Timeshare Directive to request and upfront fee when it handles a timeshare resale?
Central de Viajes does mention though in their paperwork that as per the European law there is a cooling off period of 14 days, but do they realize this means NO money upfront?
This is very dubious!
Our advice, don’t do it! It is never a good sign when you receive a cold call with a resale guarantee for a suspicious high price, and less when an upfront fee is requested!
