Newsletter February 2012

Dear All,

Another month has passed, and although it was a very short month we have broken all records in visits and correspondence with consumers.

The Mindtimeshare Blog had 32.737 visits along the month of February 2012. The best day was the 7th of February where we received 2008 visitors and the best week was the one before last with 8461 visitors!

Of course so many visitors also generate comments and a lot of emails, and this month we were able to reply to 668 emails. A contribution to this was the extension of the Customer Care service to more languages and we are very pleased to announce that we are now able to answer inquiries in the following languages; English, Spanish, Dutch, Flemish, German, Italian, French, Swedish, Norwegian and Danish.

If January was a busy month consumer wise but also with a lot of “new companies” showing up out of the blue with dubious offers, February certainly wasn’t less.
A total of 27 new company names were added to our list, and the most active ones had the honor to get a dedicated blog article.

A warning has to go out for those consumers who are contacted by the so called “mediation companies” who offer help or guarantee success with the reclaim of a Cashback certificate or the transfer of timeshare out of your name. Too many companies are calling at present with the same dubious pitch and even worse, they are claiming to be working in connection with the Spanish Government or with a “large team of lawyers”.
Unfortunately these companies all turn out to be on a same mission to obtain money out of innocent timeshare owners, and after paying large sums of money the timeshare owner will not receive any more notice (unless they ask for more money) or cannot get hold of that nice “guy” or “lady” who called them before.

This month we also published the article about the Reclaim / Cash Back certificates which has generated a lot of correspondence from consumers. Main question is, what shall we do if the reclaim is still due? Of course we cannot say full stop you are not going to get any money, but the experience is that only very few receive something and the amounts received are too small to mention. Read more in our blog article:

I also wrote an article about my views on the Discount Holiday Clubs like DWVC and Club Class and the fact it is about time the authorities both in UK and Spain start to take action regarding this. This has been going on far too long and I really think we should demand an urgent action by the UK and Spanish Authorities. In Spain the spotlight should be focused in Andalusia region (Costa del Sol is part of it) and in the Canary Islands. Alleged victims of ETOO, Club Class, ITRA, Premiere Travel, Cashback Europe & EFTAG, should stand up and begin the fight! Read more:

Anybody got any info about Pro travel solutions. They have contacted us by email asking for an annual fee to continue using DWVC. When I contacted them saying that I had been informed that DWVC had gone bust etc and we had had numerous scam contacts re getting our money back. she came back to say that DWVC was not a company but a “concept” and was still operating and we had been sold it via a marketing company called Sundance. I tried her website that appeared not to operational, she said it was undergoing updates, she also said DWVC site was operational but i can’t access it. her address is
Pro Travel Solutions – WaterPark Business Centre, C/Rio Darro 2, Mijas Costa, Málaga, 29649, Spain.
She said don’t us the addressed envelope sent us (we have had no correspondance from anyone) but send it to this new address. There is so much on the web re DWVC and all its ramifications just don’t know what to think. Note we have never used Pro travel in the past. Any help appreciated.

Have had problems ascertaining the legality of Eze Group as they accepted our timeshare in part exchange plus £5,500 to become members of their Holiday Club. This was in April 2010 & so far we have neither used their points nor have they taken over our timeshare. Have not had a reply from Tatoc to an enquiry as they had posted a query regarding Eze Group some weeks ago & I thought they might have an update on their activities. Any help on resolving this very unfortunate situation would be much appreciated.
    Regards A
