Have you received a Membership fee bill from Pro Travel Solutions?

In the past weeks we have received numerous emails from consumers who were surprised by receiving a Membership fee bill for their DWVC membership, requested by a company called Pro Travel Solutions.

But who is Pro Travel Solutions?
Pro Travel Solutions is the former Timelinx Group.  They have been slowly replacing its main holiday club membership Designer Way Vacation Club for the Marketing Agency Agreement Personal Travel Groupwww.personaltravelgroup.com for which the inventory is provided by the travel agency Pro Travel Solutions Plc.

Incentive Leisure Group Ltd in Gibraltar ceased trading in January 2011. This company was Timelinx´ last marketer using such name which was operative, as the listed ones at UK Companies House had also been dissolved earlier – i.e. Incentive Leisure Group (Milton Keynes) Ltd. & Incentive Leisure Group (U.K.) Ltd.).

It seems now that in spite of ILG going into liquidation, Pro Travel Solutions is trying to continue their business and is doing mailings to DWVC members asking for the £75 membership fee.

Pro Travel Solutions states their address in the emails they send out as; Waterpark Business Centre, C/Rio Darro 2, Mijas Costa, Málaga, 29649, Spain. But this is very strange as these offices were abandoned last year when ILG went into liquidation and have been empty ever since.

Their contact number is 0871 971 1170

The email they send out includes the following information:

We have lots of fabulous special offers on www.thetraveller-online.com or if you have any special requests, just give one of our travel consultants a call on 0871 971 1170 and they will search out the best offers.
Remember booking now for your summer holiday means you can take advantage of the Early Bird Discounts, email reservations@protravelsolutions.co.uk

Do they really pretend as if nothing has happened and DWVC is going on and people are “happy members” of their Holiday Club?
Who are they trying to fool?

    I found out today that protravelsolutions ie dwvc no longer exists by payment coming out of my account. I hopefully will get my £75 back within 10 days according to PayPal. They have cancelled any further payments from going out.

    George. Ask ProTravel Solutions to do some basic maths. They are a year too early. Then tell them to scr*w themselves as you are NEVER going to pay them the money ILG SCAMMED out of you in the first place. Smile when they threaten court action and write back cheerily that you look forward to seeing them there. They will not pitch up (in case they are thrown in prison). It’s not much but it will be a little satisfaction.

      Thanks Mark. I have had another email from them telling me that they cant cancel my membership but will suspend my membership until i want to have a holiday through them in the future then i would have to pay the £75. Guess who wont be having a holiday through them.

        If anyone has paid the annual fee to DWVC or Pro Travel solutions, they should go to the press. ProTravel Solutions is finished and done, yet they’re still trying to get money out of people for dwvc membership. DWVC doesnt exist as a product without the service provider PTS. The daily Mirror would love to hear from you! You could also email BBC WatchDog and the OFT as well. They’re very keen on hearing about Keith Barker, he’s still on the rogues gallery!!

        Pro Travel Solutions PLC have failed to submit accounts, paperwork, etc. to Companies House. They had a first notification of strike action against them on 2 October 2012. This was suspended on 15 November 2012. There is currently an active proposal by Companies House to strike them off as of 31 December 2012. (If the necessary paperwork is not submitted Companies House will dissolve the company). But Pro Travel Solutions may get this action suspended again?

        If you suspect a company is facing insolvency and/or is guilty of fraud you should e-mail intelligence.live@insolvency.gsi.gov.uk with the case that you feel should be pursued against them. I think the fact that there is currently no active database which can be accessed on Pro Travel Solutions website i.e. there is only one page which gives their telephone number + e-mail address, and yet they are asking for annual membership fees is basis enough? Certainly the nature of the contract I had with this company was that there would be on line availability of accommodation which I could check and book for myself. The only holidays Pro Travel Solutions PLC are offering are on http://www.traveller-online.com i.e. ‘special offers’ – around 6 package holidays, 4 possible cruises, and some uninspiring UK offers. Monthly e-mail to members with other ‘special offers’ are also sent and I have received these in the past. I was totally underwhelmed by the range and quality of these.

        Rather than complain to each other about the behaviour of this company I think it would be more appropriate to report their behaviour to someone such as intelligence.live. We cannot assume that they will be wiped from the face of this earth automatically and as we have been victims of their practices we should report them.

    Just seen comments below regarding DWVC annual payments. Ha Ha. Do not pay a thing. I look forward to receiving the letter asking for my payment of this ( a few years away yet according to the “contract” and all the other initial money claimed back by Sect 75). When i do get it (if) then I look forward with relish to the court case that will follow. Believe me none of these numpties will show up in court in case they end up in prison! I really wish I could write what I wish to happen to them and their relations but I won’t. Just pray for it instead 😉 Don’t worry: they earned it. xx

    PS John: Are you serious? I hope you have reclaimed your DWVC mis-sold membership from your CC company by now using Sect 75 of the CCA 1974. If not : Google it. I have my money back, eventually; we were all SCAMMED, badly. Get your money back. The CC companies should be getting together and fighting this in the courts rather than fighting US what we are owed.

    I have just received an e-mail from Protravel solutions asking me for £75 for the annual fee.they informed me that I was a member in 2008 through ILG and the membership was for 10years and the first 5 years were paid in 2008. I have just an e-mail to them asking for my membership to be terminated. Will inform you as to their reply

    I have just received an invoice by email from protravel solutions ltd for my DWVC yearly membership fee £75.
    I think I may reply telling them that I was mis-sold the DWVC membership because it was sold with a Reclaim cashback certificate claiming I would get back a large proportion of my money after 51 months with a guaranteed minimum of 6%, and since I have not received a penny from reclaim even though they have sent me a letter to say that my claim has been correctly validated (and that was 9 months ago).
    Also the 1st year I tried to use DWVC for a holiday in Spain I needed car hire for the week. In the DWVC members handbook it says that in the unlikely event that they could not better any car hire quote obtained then they would match it. Well my quote was cheaper than they could offer me and they refused to match it, even after I pointed out to them what it said in the members handbook.
    This is surely a breach of contract along with the mis-selling of my DWVC membership and so I would like reimbursement of my previous 5 years membership fee.
    And see what they have to say.

    i have had around 4 emails from these morons stating that my fees have not been paid i have ignored most of them until last night when i thought i would reply to them and advised them that
    i will not being sending any £75 to them now or in the future they do say that if i dont pay £75 now
    it will be added onto 2013 making it double i wont sleep tonight thinking about it on yer bike i told
    them the matter is with my lawyers they state that if i pass on my lawyers details they will have words with them.They must be treated with the contempt they deserve the next emails will be

    I have just received a letter from Lloyds TSB offering to refund me the £9991 I paid over to ILG/Timelinx back in 2007. This offer was after a recent letter to them concerning this payment & the bank have been very prompt with this altho accepting no admission of liability on the part of the bank.

        Is there any chance that we can all learn the secret of success, letter style, arrangement of original purchase? credit card? Debit Card? Charge Card? It would be great to learn as I am trying to obtain a refund from my bank Natwest.

        I was conned into buying into DWVC by ILG. They said they would take over my Inifniti points if I bought into it and that after 5years I would get my money back. I took out a loan, which I am still paying off, and could not get the money back as I could not find that I had paid a deposit on my bank card and had destroyed the paperwork because I realized it was a scam and thought there was nothing I could do about it. Now ProTravel are asking for the annual fee. They have offered to waive the fee for this year if I have been using the holidays, or “suspend” my membership if I prefer. I am not sure what that means but I am about to find that out. I will let you know what happens.

        I have now got out of Petchey through the Spanish Legal System but it cost me £6K.

      We were very interested to learn you will be reimbursed by Lloyds TSB for your paymentmade to ILG/Timelinx.
      We paid them £8,000 in January 2008. We also paid this into a Lloyds Bank.
      Can you tell us how you went about making your claim.

    Pro Travel Solutions PLC is registered with Companies House (Registration no: 0429721) and the address given is: 2 Kenelm Court, Steelpark Rd, Halesowen, West Midlands, B62 8HD – interesting given that a previous posting (Robert 5/03/12) suggests that there is no UK call centre/all business is carried out in Spain.

    The incorporation date was 24/09/01 and previous company names were: Timelinx Travel Services Public Limited company (changed 23/10/08).

    In relation to people connected to this company Keith Barker’s appointment as director ended 11/05/11.

    All of this information can be accessed and printed off on line at http://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/ltd/pro-travel-solutions.

    It is also possible to ask that Companies House monitor this company (the service is free of charge) and alert you if there are any changes to financial status, early indications of liquidity problems, or overdue company reports.

    In addition it is possible to order information on the company e.g. full list of members as at 24/09/05, 24/09/06, and 27/07/07 (there has been no change of members since 27/07/07 according to the information available for ordering). Each report costs £1 (according to the website) and the selected documents are delivered to your personal download area. (I haven’t personally ordered anything from Companies House, as yet).

    The following site http://urlspy.co.uk/www.protravelsolutions.co.uk gives information on the estimated number of daily visitors to the protravel solutions site. Currently the estimated number is given as 21 daily visitors, each viewing 1 page on average from the 5 pages available on line. The server for the company is located in Cadiz. Not exactly overwhelmed with customer interest then?

    Garry Leigh and Keith Barker were co-directors of Incentive Leisure Group UK (http://blogs.mirror.co.uk/2009/06/incentive-leisure-are-fraudsters-official.html). Leigh also has very clear links to Timelinx (http://blogs.mirror.co.uk/investigations/2010/07/timeshare-shark-garry-leigh-killed-in-spain – states that in 20002 Leigh needed surgery after hooded raiders burst into the offices of his firm Timelinx and slashed him across the face), and (http://blogs.mirror.co.uk/investigations/2005/04/selective-memory-from-garry-leigh-of-Designer-way-vacation-club – refers to Leigh’s ‘Spanish firm Timelinx’s website’).

      I really dont know what is going on. We go away every year with Pro Travel Solutions. I bought a membership 7 years ago with DWVC and cant praise them highly enough. We go to Florida with them this Saturday. I phone a number in Birmingham, tell them where I want to go, what accommodation I need, which car hire to book and leave it all to them. I have never had a complaint about them. I constantly get calls from people saying they have gone bust and how I can reclaim my membership, but I dont want to! I am so confused to read all this negative comment!!

        Thank you for your comment. We are very pleased to hear that you are satisfied with the services offered by Pro Travel Solutions. You phone them in Birmingham, which is rather strange as they are based in Spain, but maybe they failed to tell you?
        We are glad we finally got a positive comment about them, as it is always good to know both sides of the story. Just a shame that there are so many duped consumers on the other end that lost thousands of pounds by buying into this club, never had their timeshare transferred, never got a penny out of the Reclaim certificate and most probably don’t have money left to go on the holidays offered by pro Travel Solutions.

        Interesting as we bought into Freedom vacation network around 5 years ago. Seemed all ok at the time. We were concerned when our details were passed onto a timeshare resort company when we arrived home offering us a holiday and that they knew that we had entered into exchange from timeshare to FVN. WE believed the best and considered that there may have been someinsider mishandling of out info rather that the company itself being to blame. On returning to Tenerife around 2 years later we did actually visit the office which was still operational. no concerns at the time. We , llke a number of other folks , have been informed that TIMELINX has folded and then we began receiving phone calls to either sell our product or take up legal proceedings. All based in Tenerife or Malaga. We were suspicous as they wanted up front fees with no guarantee of success.. Hence we never took this up. . We contacted Pro travel solutions customer care. They were shocked to be told the amount of phone calls we had received from parties seeking to discredit them. We have not as yet taken holidays with them. I think that we would risk either uk venture or Europe as a first option if we ever to continue. A little disenchanted as we genuinely believed we were exchanging our time share for something better and negative reports do not give much confidence but your report
        does make me want to check them out more closely and see if they match up.We still receive regular mail shots and offers from them by the way

        We have also used Pro-Travel to book our holidays, without any problems, and it is like having your own personal travel agent. I just phone them, tell them roughly where & when we want to go, and it’s sorted, at a price I’m happy with. When we’ve had issues whilst on holiday, we’ve had the security of being able to phone DWVC/Pro Travel while we’re away & they’ve resolved the issues immediately (usually the hotel’s fault I have to say, not Pro-Travel’s).
        OK so we were duped into paying out a large sum of money on the promise of a reclaim like everyone else – we never got that back surprise surprise. Obviously I’m seething about that, but don’t feel there’s much more we can do about that side of it as it was nearly ten years ago.

        Pro Travel book your holidays without any problems, well that is the least they could do indeed after paying thousands and thousands of Pounds. Would any local travel agent not do the same for you if you would pay them the same amount of money? Would any local travel agent not try to solve your problems on the holidays you booked with them?
        But how much money are you saving on these bookings? Probably nothing, because the holidays they book are also available on the internet and could be booked by you straight away without paying more and maybe even less as Pro Travel must have some agreements in place where they obtain commission on what they book.
        So you pay thousands of pounds for a product you were totally mis-led on and you pay £75 membership fee a year, and for all that they “book your holidays”, probably charging you more or getting commission…
        We feel that the consumers (victims) are losing out here big time, and these people do not deserve a penny more of your hard earned money!

      So Keith Barker and Kimberley Bambroffe are in the process of closing down Pro Travel Solutions, leaving anyone who joined one of those damned holiday clubs of theirs without a service provider. It’s no surprise they’re trying to cover their tracks, but they are also trying to wring a few more quid out of people before they vanish. They’ve got a couple of people phoning and emailing all DWVC/Personal Travel Group members asking them to pay their annual £75 fee. They are asking for an annual fee for a service they no longer intend to provide! These 2 ghastly people need locking up!

    I have also received this E mail from Pro Travel. I am acting on behalf of my cousin, Her husband has been pulled into this scam over tha past few years and has lost a large amount of money. This year ( Jan) he suffered a fatel heart attack. I have taken over his affairs for her and boy oh boy have they met their match, they might as wel go , “l milk a hen” than get any more money from us. We are ignoring their e mails phone calls and letters. if they wish to follow up, “See you in Court Darlings” as far as I am concerned they can go F… themselves

    Just received the now familiar e mail from Caroline at Pro Travel Solutions and thought it was strange as we were told earlier this year that we could allow our membership to ‘lapse’ and pick up again when we want to use the system. We have never used this holiday system and we never got our cashback in 2010. We feel angry and stupid as we were scammed big time.

    We haven’t received an email or invoice (YET) From Pro Travel solutions but they did telephone me this evening. The lady introduced herself as Mary and asked if we had a timeshare with DWVC. After unfortunately being conned by another scam company, i.e. TP Associates, as soon as she mentioned timeshare I put the phone down. I have learned my lesson – the hard way!!!

    Hi. alberto, In reply to your recent correspondence re . Resolved Claims Ltd.Funnily enough I discovered their website whilst checking the Timelinx website as I had just discovered that the owner had accidentally???? died .(Lord Lucan comes to mind) and this company were offering their services in the pursuit of any claims. They offer no up front fees but charge 25per cent of successful claim plus vat. As my cash back claim would be for £12,000 then it would cost me £3,600.which is better than nothing atall. They publish a list of comments from satisfied clients and I would be interested to know if any of our band of followers have had any dealings with this company.Keep up the good work Alberto .     I’ve also received an email reminding me that this years fees are unpaid, I have ignored the message and refuse to enter into any form of dialogue with Pro Travel.
    On a happier note, I have been advised that my Section 75 claim for money paid to ILG is to be
    settled in full. It has taken 6 months and required the involvement of the Financial Ombudsman but it has been worth the hassle.

      Well done Graham, glad to here you have been successful with your Section 75 claim for money paid to ILG. I am still trying but my credit card company are not convinced that ILG have breached the terms of the contract and they say that buying a bad bargain does not make the bank liable under the Act. They also say that DWVC is still active and you can still book holidays with them so ILG have honoured my bought membership to the holiday club, and since DWVC (the supplier) was not part of the transaction there is no debtor/creditor/supplier link, unless I can prove that ILG, DWVC, Timelinx and Reclaim were all connected i.e. with the same directors then my claim is not valid.

      Can I ask you if you attended the same ILG offices as me for your presentation. Mine was at Woolley Barns, Nr. Wantage, Oxfordshire.

        Have just found your comment. We, too, ‘bought’ our membership of dwvc at Woolley Barns, though ‘forced to buy’ would be a better description!! After 7 hours there three men stood over us while we initialled their ‘declaration of understanding’ which says, among others, #15 that we had not been treated in an aggressive or forceful way!!! We have also received the same comments as you from our credit card supplier, and are working on the next stage.

    Have just had a very pleasant e.mail from this co. giving me a gentle reminder of my overdue membership fee.To which I have replied that unless they can supply me with information regarding the whereabouts of the Timelinx co. which they seem to have inherited but not prepared to accept their responsibilities then not to bother e.mailing me again ,where are the police and the serious fraud squads in these countries?

    Been member of dwvc since 2008 and used them only once and only paid the £75 fee once,then never heard anything from them again.Lately tho been receoving mumerous calls from different cpmpanies offering to sell my membership for me,whoch ive ignored.Shortly after tjese calls started i started to get the odd email from pro solutions offering holidays and o have just now received an email from them reminding me my £75 fee os overdue.What do i do.

      Don’t give these fraudsters another penny! I have been trying to get my “cash back” money now for 6yrs and have come to the conclusion that its not going to happen!
      Constantly being told over the years that DWVC, Timelinx call themselves what they will, have gone into administration and that they will be in court in Spain end ofAugust 2013 for fraud, and that cashback sales administration is nothing to do with them anyway??? I wont hold my breath and I certainly will not be paying anymore money for membership fees to these fraudsters.

      It makes me so very angry to see how many people have been conned like we have by these thieves over the years, many of which, like us, do not have the money for solicitors to try to take these people on!

    We have been sent Membership Fee Statements saying that we owe DWVC £150 for two years unpaid fees. The contact details on the statements are for Pro Travel Solutions on 0871 971 1170 with a web site of http://www.thetraveller-online.com. I have replied to them stating that Vacation Solutions Consultancy (you may have heard of them) guaranteed that they will pay the first five years fees from 2008 and that we no longer want to deal with DWVC or any one else for that matter.

    we are members of DWVC since 20006 and yearly paid the fee of £75 and also a gift of a computer a silver case full of books for holidays.Have only used them once with a discount on a coach tour to Normandy. Seams to me you don’t know who you are dealing with.

    I also recieved an email from reservations@protravelsolutions.co.uk telling me was overdue with my membership and that I owed £118.87. My response was a request for a cancellation and refund. This was their reply (quite reasonably worded but useless)

    “We are sorry to hear that you are not happy with your membership. Please be reassured that we offer discounted accommodation for thousands of resorts and if you contact our Reservations department on 0871 971 1170 they will be happy to help you.
    Pro Travel Solutions is the service provider for your membership and as such cannot cancel your membership. We can, however, suspend your membership so that you will not be chased for your annual fees. If, at a later date, you wish to book accommodation using your membership, you can reinstate your membership by paying the annual fee due at the time.”

    I asked them to suspend it and it has now gone quiet.

      Yes I am not sending any money to them. I do’nt want a membership they said they have took over from Timelinx but its a waste of time because the holidays are no cheaper. We are trying to claim through Resolve Claims and its in the hands of a solicitor. They are trying to get the money back through are credit card company. Global vacations were shut down in Malaga by the police for fruad they were all part of ILG

    I have received a request for payment of £75.00 to cover cost of Management Fees with regard to DWVC.. I texted them to ask what is their validity and why cant they carry out this business from their Halesowen Office ?? Their reply states that they have closed their Halesowen & South African Call Centre , all business is carried out in Spain.

    Yes I received a e-mail last week, telling me I hadn’t renewed my membership and they had lots of special offers. I am just hoping I get somthing back through my credit card company. And then I can put an end to this awful scam.
