Have you been called by Castle Marketing for a consultancy to dispose of your timeshare?

Castle Marketing has come on strong this week with numerous cold calls which generated numerous emails and comments on the blog!

Castle Marketing has a website www.castlemarketing.net which doesn’t really provide much more information than any other Timeshare Disposal Website and all you get out of it is that you should contact them to make an appointment with their advisors.

The website created in January 2012, does not provide any contact details such as Phone Number of Office Address or even an indication of Location where this company is based, nothing. If you want to contact them you have to use the contact form on the web and they’ll call back.

Through our investigations we have found indications that they are connected to other dubious timeshare resale companies based in Nerja, Spain, about which we informed previously in our blog article on the “Nerja Connection” http://wp.me/p1kmoi-3M

It looks like that companies like these think that by changing their names and websites, Mindtimeshare is not going to find the connections behind them and inform consumers of the real set up.

There is no Company registered under the name Castle Marketing in the UK Companies House, but of course who says they are in the UK with the information above?

One of the consumers who was cold called by this outfit was told they had obtained their details through the European Timeshare Database, as if there would exist a database like that!

The agent on the phone also commented they were based in Derbyshire, but of course we don’t rule out the “advisors” travel the country to meet up with potential clients. Shame they won’t discuss the costs of the timeshare transfer before the consultation, so we  will have to wait for somebody to actual meet up with them and tell us…

So if you have been called by Castle Marketing, please let us know!  We all want to know!

It’s now 2017 and I received real mail with an opportunity to attend a dinner and learn more. The contact info lists 888-308-4030. I’m in the states.

Same here. Got two emails and both of them from someone @yahoo.com. I mean, come on – you can’t even create an email at the company you’re allegedly writing from? It was just too shady for me and I’m not responding or dealing with them.

I was just contacted by this company in regards to a job application. Upon setting up an interview with them I did some more research and found out they were not a company I wanted to pursue a relationship with. I am posting the information (location, phone) that I received in an email for your reference. The email was not signed and came from marketingcastle@gmail.com, but Google could not confirm it.

Hi, I was contacted a few days ago by Castle Marketing about the sale of my time share, I don’t normally answer withheld numbers but my daughter who is visiting from India picked up the phone and knowing that I am interested in selling my timeshare said I would ring back and was given the telephone number of 01246554897 and was told to ask for emily.
I decided to check them out first and found your blog, I’m glad I did, thanks.

I just received a call few minutes ago from a blocked number. He said that he got my details from a database as I am willing to sell my timeshare. He said his company is based at Derbyshire called Castle Marketing. He asked for how much offer I wanted for my timeshare. He also asked for my postcode. When I challenged the reason he asked for my postcode he started to stammer on the phone, he said ok he would call me back in two days.
I tried to search the name of the company on google immediately, then I saw this information for people like myself. Thank you for your good work, keep it up.

Just received a call (witheld number). Dull sounding English person said I undersatand you want to sell your timeshare. I said no. He said, haven’t you got timeshare then. I said yes but I don’t want to sell it; please update your incorrect records.

We are from Spain, Catalonia area. We have received several calls from “Castle Marketing” last months of March and April. They speak spanish and has asked us if we want to transfer our shared time. They have invited us to a meeting in a hotel, where it would appear, they consultants are going to spend time to advise us about the best way to transfer our shared time without costs.
We don’t rely in this kind of companies, and after reading the information posted in this web, we declined this invitation.
    Some things about this company:
    1. They don’t say nothing interesting and categorical in his web about the services they offer.
    2. They are not compliant with the Spanish LSSI law (the information society services law), which requires companies publish some relevant information, and the contact data, in his web.
    3. They are using our private data without our consent, which is not compliant with the rigorous Spanish LOPD law (private data protection law). This can be denounced to the spanish private data protection agency.
    4. They always call from a hidden phone number, and you can’t call him for nothing. You only can contact him using the contact form in the web page, and you have to wait they call you.
    5. If you want to confirm a meeting with the consultants, you have to accept the cancellation conditions without read it. They are not availaible in the web page.
    6. More ……….?

    • Hi Joan,
Thanks you very much for your detailed message and all the information.
You are right, do we need to say more?
      Glad you found the blog!
      Kind regards

I have this morning received a call from this company about my mother’s time share. I am dubious about all callers in this respect as my mother who is aged 84 has had several calls from different comapnys about selling her time share and unfortunately has handed over some £3,000.00 approximately to these people over the last few years. As she is now in a home I am dealing with matters on her behalf. Thanks for your site as I was about to arrange an appointment with these as we need to deal with disposal of her time share but we will now have no further dealings with them.

  10. John says:

I had a call this morning from Matthew, a “Senior Consultant” from Castle Marketing, based as others have said, in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Apparently we are looking to sell our timeshare weeks. When I asked where this information came from, he told me that they “work with timeshare companies to clean up their databases”.

Although as usual the number came up ID withheld, he admitted to making the call from Chesterfield so they should come under any UK regulations or guidelines. I asked why he had called when we are registered with TPS and he said that they don’t even check that. Together with the very poor and clearly rushed website, it’s difficult to imagine even the uninitiated being taken in by this…

  11. Richard says:

I have just recieved a call from Castle Marketing of Derbyshire. A very pleasant young man said that they would take my timeshare off me, for use by travel agents. This was quite interesting as I am looking to get rid of my weeks within the next 2 months even if I have to just hand the keys back. He said they would not pay for it but that they could get me out of my contract with regards to payment of increasing maintainence for ever. There was no mention of fees, The implication being that I would just sign over the weeks. When I said that because of the date I had bought the timeshare I was able to simply had over the keys and walk away from it, he thanked me for my time and rang off. A quick google led me to this site.

    • Margaret says:

      Hi Richard
Sorry to bother you but I was interested in your comment ‘because of the date I had bought the timeshare I was able to simply hand over the keys and walk away from it’ We have had our timeshare for 23 years and when I contacted the company and said this is what we wanted to do I was told we couldn’t because it’s an ‘Owners Club’ Would you clarify what you meant by it. Thanks Margaret

  12. Margaret says:

Hi we have this morning been called by Castle Marketing based in Derbyshire. They said they believed we were interested in selling our Timeshare (which in fact we are) I said there was no way we were paying any money up front or giving credit/debit card details and they said that they didn’t ask for that. A senior salesperson is supposed to be calling me back this afternoon. I am glad I looked on the internet.

  13. Lin says:

I have just been cold called by Castle Marketing. The very pleasant but slightly pushy lady (better act quickly as all the appointments are running out) tried to book me in for an appt at the Royal Bath Hotel this coming Saturday. I checked them out before responding to their E mail which I intend to decline having read your information. Thank you.

  14. Brian says:

We have been called on 3 occasions by phone over the last week by them telling us they can get rid of our Diamond Resort points I told them we were not allowed to sell or give our points to anyone other than another Diamond member the ‘manager’ then came on the phone and said they can take our points as they were already Diamond members, to be fair to them they did not say they would buy our points only that they would take them off of us and we would not have anything to pay and would be rid of them for ever!!! they even said if we didnt want to go to Derbyshire they would visit us at home!

  15. ventahl says:

We were approached by Castle Marketing over the weekend about making an appointment to see an adviser at the Royal Bath Hotel in Bournemouth on 14 April but we found your blog and declined. Thank you so much for publishing this invaluable information and enable others to steer clear of these sharks.

  16. mary says:

I too have been cold-called by Castle Marketing. The caller said they were based in Derbyshire (and cheekily asked me if I knew where that is!!!). He asked if I could attend a meeting in Dunblane on the weekend of £1st March. Naturally I declined this offer and immediately googled the so-called company and came across your website. Thanks for running this site, I am sure it will save a lot of people a lot of grief!
