Here we go with a new one, Southern Resale Solutions who is presented to the consumer by Holiday Rentals Direct when calling about the resale of the timeshare.
Southern Resale Solutions with website http://southernresalesolutions.info seems to be new. Their website was registered on the 28th of November 2011.
On the website there is a UK address: 14 Lansdowne Terrace, Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE3 1HN
A telephone number 01946413006 and an email Address firstname.lastname@example.org
They also have a resale listing on their website, and it strikes straight away that the best product to buy seems to be a Principle Travel Membership..? Why would that be?
It seems that the new story now is as follows:
Holiday Rentals Direct (http://wp.me/p1kmoi-5q & http://wp.me/p1kmoi-bI) cold call consumers and claim to have a buyer lined up for their timeshare. All the consumer needs to do is to pay a retainer fee in order to secure the sale. This fee is around 1295€
Once the fee has been paid, the nightmare of the timeshare owner starts, because the contrary to what they expect. The timeshare is not sold and neither is HRD looking to refund the deposit!
After this disappointing first offer, HRD calls the consumer after a couple of months and breaks the good news about a second offer! But, unfortunately the timeshare owner “owns the wrong product” for this second resale. So in order to be able to sell this time, the owner is offered a change in membership to a Principle Travel Membership for a very moderate cost of 1690€! This is on top of the already taken retainer fee first time round.
Needless to say that this Principle Travel Membership isn’t sold either and the timeshare owner has paid 2 amounts of money which are not on HRD’s refund list at all!
For those who don’t want to pay the second time round, HRD sends a form to sign that they refuse the second offer, which is then presented to the bank when a refund claim comes in, as proof that they did what the contract states…2 resale offers. They do omit though the part where it explains the offer was refused because there was yet another payment upfront!
So for those not willing to believe what HRD tells them about the second offer and the change of membership, well they now have a “sister” company Southern Resale Solutions where the timeshare owner can verify it is all true…and even pay directly the second amount..
Well, that is some story! A shame that neither Holiday Rentals Direct, Principle Travel nor Southern Resale Solutions seem to have heard about the Timeshare Directive where the upfront fees are banned and should not be charged for any resale service related to Timeshare.
Have you been called by Holiday Rentals Direct or maybe straight from Southern Resale Solutions on 0194 641 3006 ? Please do let us know.
