Dear All,
Another month has passed and yet again so many “new” Companies started their dubious activities during this month.
Luckily and thanks to all the quick responses of the people who follow us, we were able to place warnings about a lot of these companies’ only days after they started to call consumers!
But in this Newsletter we also want to speak about those companies about which we placed an alert a long time ago, and are unfortunately still active. By the number of inquiries we receive still each day we have elaborated a top 3 of ongoing dubious activities:
1) The guaranteed resale: The cold call and the story of a company being so successful with resale’s that they had to call the consumers up and see if they want to sell, seems still to be the most common one. Although maybe not mentioned in the first call, there is always that moment where the agent breaks the news about the upfront fee, liability, security, legal or notary fee. After paying the consumer never has his timeshare sold as the sale always falls through and after checking the paperwork he realizes he paid for a 12 month marketing fee.
Companies active with this pitch are: Viva Connect http://wp.me/p1kmoi-2Q , HRD or Holiday Rentals Direct http://wp.me/p1kmoi-5q, Blue Chip http://wp.me/p1kmoi-7C and Half Moon Holdings http://wp.me/p1kmoi-2j
2) The legal consultants: Another cold caller, claiming to be connected with a large number of lawyers who are doing claims on behalf of the consumers against their timeshare / exchange companies. The consumer pays to join these demands, but will only realize months or years down the line that nothing has happened. The most that will happen is that the company calls again and asks for more money!
Active in this area are: Ramirez & Ramirez http://wp.me/p1kmoi-dh Greenges 2005 SL http://wp.me/p1kmoi-8N and Key Property Town Advisory http://wp.me/p1kmoi-e2
3) The Class Action: Slightly different to the legal consultancies as these claim to have larger Class Actions up and running and thousands of consumers signed up…yet again, no results up till now and even worse, those attending the meetings in most of the occasions end up with a membership into a dubious Holiday Discount club which is connected to the so called Class Action.
Class Action active: ITRA http://wp.me/p1kmoi-em where you end up with a Club Class Membership and Reclaimgc http://wp.me/p1kmoi-3q where you end up with a Voyager Travel Membership.
Of course we receive inquiries about all kinds of companies and other very dubious offers made on cold calls. But the above are the ones that generated most inquiries last month and we really thought it was time to warn once more about them.

Hi
I sent quite a few emails last summer after being duped (yet again) by Club Class. Luckily we did manage to cancel agreement and got money back. Just wanted to let you know I have just received a ‘cold call’ from a company called Consumer Advisory Solutions who are based in Tenerife of all places. Their website address is section75.net and I was given a UK number of 01244 470131 (lady called Michelle May). Has anyone heard of this company? She informed me that the company has been running for a year and has helped lots of familes claim their money back under Section 75. She name dropped – Vince Cable (taking club class to court) and Martin Lewis as he explained section 75 in detail. She would like £599 up front to claim our £13500 back from our original contract and says this will be done within 3 months (if it goes over this the job will be free of charge, though I don’t know how we get our money back if we’ve already paid). Is this company just another one of the hundreds out there trying to make money out of us?
Alberto, all problems arise because the original vendor of timeshare/points are only willing to sell; they also assure that it’s always possible to resell the contract any time, normally at a lower price.
But when time is coming, you are left in the middle of the street …………. so sharks are coming …..
it is not at all a serious deal !!!.
Well done Alberto, and thanks for your vigilance. What happens if a bone fide timeshare owner wishes to sell their timeshare in a very luxurious development in Playe del Carmen in Mexico? Can you advise? Goretti Newell
