Ocean Estates, cold caller with upfront fee for a resale

What more is there to say about Ocean Estates when they are cold calling timeshare consumers, confirm they have a buyer for their timeshare and request an upfront fee?

These are all the things a resale company should not be doing!

Ocean Estates only recently started their campaign. So far the information we have is that they cold call from the following telephone number: 0189 225 4011

Their address is Orchard Business Park, Furnace Lane, Kent.

The person calling is a man by the name of Eddie Chambers or Keith Adams, and after the usual chat about resale and the buyers waiting he comes up with the security fee to be paid.

This fee is £1200 or in some cases requested in Euros 1395€

Unfortunately Ocean Estates is not working by the rules in this matter, as the Timeshare Directive is very clear on the fact that upfront deposits are out of place when is concerns a resale.

With the above information we can only recommend to be cautious, and insist that an upfront fee should NOT be paid!

Have you been speaking to Eddie Chambers or Keith Adams  from Ocean Estates on 01892254011 ?

Contacted a few weeks ago by Annie McInally from Ocean Estates in Kent, asking if we were interested in selling our present Holiday Club membership. I was very cautious with my answers to her questions and she realised that I was not being duped by her offers. She said I had obviously been contacted already about a resale (we had, in fact, been contacted by Holiday Lettings and Sales!) and would not detain me any longer.

I was contacted by a Ruby Shannon of Ocean Estates on the 18th June. Also spoke to a Elizabeth

I have been contacted by Eddie, all seemed to be going well and then he asked for the £1200 insurance against the sale and which point alarm bells rang so did a company search and lo and behold not found. Told him about this and this website but still was tyring to get me to send the money. Finally promised to email me with all the details including the company registration number but still not arrived.
