Holiday Marketing Services – HMS, Timeshare resale from Valencia

New cold caller, Holiday marketing Services or HMS is calling from Valencia.

HMS calls out of the blue with the good news that they have buyers lined up for the owners timeshare and these buyers are paying good money for this.

The website of Holiday marketing Services is very basic to say the least, and lacks all the information one should expect from a company that display the letters SL (Ltd) behind their name. This website was registered at the beginning of May 2012.

We couldn’t find though a company registered at the Spanish Companies House under the name Holiday marketing Services.

The address of Holiday marketing Services is a post box, Apartado de Correos 70001, Valencia 46007 and the phone number is a UK number that obviously switches through to Spain 0844 911 0031

The cold call, the lack of information on the web and the unknown registration at the Companies House tell us that any consumer approached by this company should be very careful!

So please if you are called by Holiday Marketing Services or HMS from 08449110031 in Valencia do let us know by email to or place a comment on the blog.

I was sca**** out of over $11,000 by a timeshare company called La Jolla Mazatlan, and by Best Holiday Club Marketing. During the presentation, they offered to buy my existing timeshare through BHC Marketing if we paid them an additional $899. Of course, they said they had a buyer right away, but after 120 days, nothing happened. Now I am stuck with La Jolla’s worthless timeshare in addition to my previous timeshare, and lost over $11,000 in the process. La Jolla knows that they can’t be touched in Mexico unless I hire a lawyer in Mazatlan.
    Any suggestions?

I have had several calls from Holiday Marketing. They say they have a buyer for our timeshare who lives in Bath!. He has paid a deposit of £1,500 and has obtained a loan from Ocean Finance for the balance. No mention of how he will finance the transfer cost or pay the finders fee to Holiday Marketing. To-day I received a call to tell me the contracts will be sent out and I would be required to make a payment using a credit card to ensure I do not fail to hand over the deed.
I was also asked how i would like to be paid, Cheque, Money Transfer or Bankers Draft (drawn on Barclays Bank) I drew the young lady’s attention to this website and also to the fact that Ocean Finance do not finance loans for timeshare purchases. Her response was that the loan obtained was a straight forward personal loan. I also asked if she had previously sold timeshare in the property we are with, and she said yes.
I said I was not prepared to make an upfront payment, and she said she would talk to her manager to see if another way could be found to progress the transaction.

does anyone know of any timeshare sale completed using this company?

  4. Anonymous says:

Been contacted by this company who said that they had a buyer (from the UK). They gave me a price and because of health issues, I would like to sell. I went on to tell the woman that I wouldn’t pay any money out because I was duped year before last (when I was waiting for major surgery to remove a tumour) to the tune of £1250. The company was called something like Global Marketing – who also had a buyer. Of course it fell through the next day, we were then passed on to another marketing company who wanted me to fly to Palma… when I said I couldn’t fly (several times), I was asked if I could go to Valencia/Alicante (I can’t remember where), to which I replied “what part of ‘I can’t fly’ don’t you understand). Got shirty with me – never heard from them again.

So the company yesterday sent me an email – I’ve only just read it. They said they would help me claim the £1250 back as it should be held somewhere.

I now have a long term health condition, plus complications from the surgery happened so never got back to work. I obviously would like to sell – she told me she had a buyer from the UK – although I did question who from the UK had any money to buy a timeshare??? Anyway, despite telling me that I wouldn’t have to pay anything out – a paragraph in the email reads:

    • A £975.00 default guarantee is to be authorised via a valid VISA or MASTERCARD. This will be held under secure facilities with both providers for the duration of the sale. This will ensure the timely arrival of your signed and surrendered certificates. THIS IS NOT A PAYMENT

Now, to me, any outgoing of money to me is considered a payment (don’t know about anyone else???).

I’ve had another call today asking if I have read the letter (and I had genuinely not because of various personal issues)… I just thought I’d do an internet search on the company and your site came up… I’m so glad it did – because I don’t trust anyone of these so called ‘Timeshare Councils’ because I believe they are all made up and in cahoots with these companies anyway…

Sorry this is long, but I wanted others to see what happens. Once bitten, twice shy, so I’m understandably very dubious about such calls and claims after being stung the last time…

I want to remain anonymous for this comment – but I will provide my correct details in the comments form.

Had a similar call today. Very suspicious about the price they are offering and that, having no British agent, any contract would be under Spanish Law. I have requested a copy of their contract and if I get one (the usual response I have had from other companies is that they can only provide a contract once the agreement to proceed with the sale has been signed!) I will post my comments on it. Any progress on your offer, Eddie?

    • Eddie says:

Very basic web site, no company information.
I believe H.M.S. are monitoring comments on this site. Shortly after posting my comment a lady from H.M.S. rang to inform me their client was no longer interested and had pulled out of the deal, said bye and put the phone down. No offer was made to contact me with other offers.

      • John says:

I think that you are correct in believing they are monitoring this website. H.M.S. claimed that they had a buyer for my timeshare but it is two weeks now since I asked them for a copy of their contract before I gave them any more information and I have heard nothing more from them. They clearly have something to hide

  6. Eddie says:

Just been called by Holiday Marketing Services SL. APTD 70011, Valencia, 46007, Spain
Tel. No. 08449110031. E-mail received requesting I e-mail back accepting the price offered.
They will then forward a contract to me for signing giving them permission to handle the sale and transfer of ownership.. At the moment they are saying no money up-front

      Hi Eddie

I have aklso been contacted by HMS saying that they have a buyer for my timeshare. They need VISA or MASTERCARD details to secure a guarantee of £1250 in the evnt that i do not forward the certificate. Having read all posts I am very reluctant to go ahead as it seems nobody can be trusted. Although they state no money is to be paid upfron the initial offer was worded ‘deposit of £1250 is refunded on completion of sale’. They have changed the wording for me however I am still very relucant as this company is based in Spain and therefore has different laws (and loop holes). Would appreciate any feedback from anyone.
