Timeshare Refund Network TRN says your case is valid for a refund claim!

Cold caller Timeshare Refund Network or TRN has commenced their call campaign recently. They cold call timeshare owners although very much to the surprise of these owners, the agent of Timeshare Refund seems to know an awful lot about their membership(s) past and present!

After a short discussion by phone, and of course as they already have all information on the timeshare owners’ membership, the agent from Timeshare Refund Network states that the case would be valid for a claim.

At this stage the agent requests the email address from the owner and also sets a date on which a “legal advisor” will call him back.

But who is Timeshare Refund Network?

The website from TRN www.timesharerefund.net was registered in August 2012 although on the website they mention to have been around for at least 8 years. Without web that is? Or maybe with another company name?

The address of TRN Timeshare Refund Network is in Gran Canaria (Canary Islands):

Calle Lajilla Nº 5, Edificio Panorama, Arguineguin, Mogan, 35120 Las Palmas

And their contact details: Telephone/Fax 02035199782 Email: info@timesharerefund.net

Although we are still in early stages of the investigations about this company, we found it necessary to place this warning about Timeshare Refund Network, taking in account that they cold call and seem to have all the consumers’ details at hand. This should not be possible with the Data Protection Law and there is no such thing as databases for “legally” sale with consumer’s details.

Cold calling consumers and offering claims against their timeshare companies, result most of the time in the consumer having to travel to the place where these companies are based (in this case Gran Canaria) and ending up paying thousands of pounds to join such claim or a dubious Discount Travel Membership Club.

If you have been approached by TRN Timeshare Refund Network from 0203  5199 782 then please let us know.

Im so pleased that I looked up TRN after a cold call. Why do they all think we are suckers! They are calling back tomorrow evening to talk to my husband. Yes we were sold a pup, but so were so were so many others. THey told ne the same story about Resort Properties now Silverpoint been indicted for fraud. How the MD and 21 staff are facing legal prosecution and how they had broken the EU directives etc etc. Their lawers are called Canary and Lewgal Alliance. They are TIMESHARE specilists. They will get us our money back!! Will they????
    Very suspicious…

    • shona says:

something really needs to be done about these companies, I really fail to understand how these people can sleep at night knowing they are conning some people our of yet more hard earned money, I had a call and they were so convincing, sadly I wasted nearly an hour listening to her but I never took it further, and still trying to sell my vacation points

  2. Kristina says:

I have also been contacted today by TRN pretty much all the same only no mention of us having to fly out to Tenerife. All I want is to cancel my contract. I didn’t realise I would not be able to walk away at any time and don’t want my kids to go through all this when we have passed away.

  3. David says:

Checked Google after call from TRN.
checked phone number 02035883901 was the number I was called from. They are calling back next Friday. I look forward to the call after reading comments here. Will update after call.

  4. shona says:

I have been cold called by them twice, spoke to the senior consultant today who says I have a strong case for mis-selling and going to arrange for a home visit, not going to proceed now after reading all this, have been conned too many times by these bogus companies, something really needs to be done about these awful people

  5. L and J says:

I have been contacted by Colin Johnson from TRN. I asked if I could call him if I needed to …I rang back the number and it was answered and he was available !! I too have been told my case is strong…I own holiday points. I wasnt informed of any up front costs other than the 299 euro home visit charge..certainly not any substantial amount as seen in one of the above comments for 9k !! have to say…what a plonker even contemplating parting with 9K. Told him a slice of 25% was a tidy sum of my potential payout…and how could I trust to be paid … have yet to receive a concrete answer to that…How come noone has posted on here any success with this company….surely they would encourage this if it was all above board and they would be glad to advertise their successes. I tell you what …if they had got me back my initial payment of around £20k I would be telling you all they were to trusted and go for it !! Silence speaks volumes …what do you reckon…. Watch this space…

  6. Gill says:

Called today by TRN, asking questions about our timeshare – no telephone number available. Tired of all this, so I asked ‘Have you heard of the Telephone Preference service which is meant to block nuisance calls?’ She groaned and heaved a sigh that must have turned pages and said ‘Sorray, humph’. I put the phone down, won’t give these sharks the time of day.

  7. Linda says:

I too have received three phone calls from TRN promising help to rid us of our timeshare in Tenerife. Always very plausible and helpful. Told them we would not be interested in going to Gran Canaria and they offered a home visit for £199.00! Times must be hard…. Needless to say I refused. I don’t trust any one any more when timeshares are mentioned.

  8. Charlotte says:

We too have been contacted by TRN, with a view of sorting this whole sorry timeshare mess out. They have explained to us that there is a no win no fee policy, with the view of a 25% payment fee after the case. What got us suspicious about it all was the fact they needed us to go to Gran Canaria to meet with the lawyers, on refusing this, they said because our case was over £10,000 worth, we qualified for a home visit, however, and here was the deal breaker, they needed power of atourny, plus all the original documents, not even verifed copies. As anyone else experienced these requests from them?

  9. Stuart says:

I have been cold called several times in the last few weeks by this bunch of idiots, the most recent call being the most entertaining. Some-‘thing’ claiming to go by the name of ‘John’ fired off a squeaky-voiced pitch at me, beginning with one of the most insincere enquiries as to ‘how I was feeling’, then progressing into the most laughably ill-informed drivel, based (rather loosely) on how ‘it’ would be able to ‘get me out of’ my timeshare. Are any of these sca***** ever quality controlled to at least give themselves a modicum of credibility? Having practiced corporate law for the last 20 years, I was quite amused to hear what ‘it’ considered to be an informed and professional opinion as to what the lawyers (to whom ‘it’s’ company would be introducing me to in Gran Canaria) had to offer me.
I have to admit that I was glad that I chose to field this call and hear what ‘John’ and TRN proposed to be able to do for me (which is obviously, precisely nothing other than rather feebly attempt to illegally relieve me of some of my money). So, rather than just hanging up, I continued to listen in to the stupidity of what/who-ever was on the other end of the line, as it was from a legal standpoint, to say the least; hilariously funny!
Well done Mr Garcia for your blog spot and for giving us our chance to expose these scammers and thieves for what they really are!
N.B. To the recruitment department of TRN, please keep on employing the standard of uninformed ‘blaggers’ that you have on the pay role as it really does help us all to see your company for what it is!

    Stuart

  10. William says:

I contacted TRN and paid £199:00 so that a Rep could fly from Gran Canaria to see whether I could get out of paying my Timeshare at Palm Oasis. A Rep called Alistair Ross called at the house and without hardly glancing at any papers said that I had a valid claim because I had been missold back in 2003 and that I could expect twice my payment back plus all the maintenance fees as I had paid up front at the time which was illegal.TRN would claim 25% of all payments but I had to pay £9000,00 before their Legal Team in Gran Canaria would start to process my claim through the courts (the total time for the court case could take at least12 months)
Although he claimed that TRN were very successful and had not lost a case to date he would not give any names or examples. He took copies of me and my wife`s passport, gave us a list of lawyers in Gran Canaria that they used and that would take up our case. As I promised to pay half in 10 days time I`m going to stop the credit card payment as the £9000:00 up front sounded fishy to me when thinking about it afterwards.I can pay for 18years for that, and if any non payment is transferred to my children, who knows where they`ll be by then.So good luck to any claimants.
I was wondering if I could Will it back to the owners upon my death, has anyone else thought of this?
    Billy

  11. Lyn says:

This has been an interesting read of everyones blog. We also have timeshare in Tenerife of which we were sca***** into purchasing. same old same old!! got the call last night the same as the above comments but I am so looking forward to the return call today for our conversation.
I have stopped paying maintenance on my timeshare and I am awaiting retribution. Have not paid 2012 or 2013 but I may just go back sometime and make the biggest fuss ever at one of the presentations. It may not be good for them but great for me!

  12. Suzy says:

Reece Hardy from TRN phoned and said we had to pay up front fee to get our money back. Just listened to my partner giving him hell!!! Sweet sound ! From this number … +44 20 3588 3901 I suppose if you have been co**** once they believe you are gullible but as my partner said to dear old Reece … Once bitten, twice shy!!!!

  13. Donna Martin says:

We have been done in exactly the same way as all of the above people!! We have the advisor coming this morning ……think he might get the door slammed in his face after i have read all of this !! We paid on a credit card ….does anyone know if we can get that back??? Also would like to if there are anyways of getting out of this waste of money timeshare?

    • julie says:

i’ve just been contacted by a colin johnson from trn saying exactly the same thing but we reckon its a sc** so not bothering, and which timeshare do you have donna x

  14. Barry says:

Just been contacted again by Timeshare Refund Network. Same old timeshare rubbish. I put these in the same bag as the people who sold the so called winning scratchcards form 20 years ago. Thing is with these people you still have to pay upfront for something or they try and get you where they can work on you to lever some more money out of you. If they are genuine, and as confident as they say they are, they should be able to make a profit on a commission out of any claims you receive. You shouldn’t need to travel to the Canaries to make a claim. This is so they can work on you to probably sell you even more timeshares that you cannot get rid of.

  15. Mr S says:

Alas I too have received three calls from Helen Hussey at TRN promising a refund and for just the 15% to 25% commission fee. It all started to go wrong when the ‘you only need to come to Gran Canaria and stay in one of our luxury 5 star properties for a week’ comment. The price, why just £399 up front, and fully refundable. OR out of the goodness of their hearts, the claims assessors will fly over, drive to my house and check all my paperwork for the same small fee of £399. Where do I get those sorts of flight prices…
I challenged the lovely Helen (0207-588-3900 don’t bother ringing it as its unobtainable!) a bit further.
    1. They will fast track my case as its a high value ???
    2. There are no extra charges like some other companies charge, like for admin and stuff (her words not mine, very official). Oh I asked, how many other companies are offering this service. Yep, didn’t get a direct answer to that one.
    3. I get all the money back and then they invoice me for the 25%. Oh I thought it was up to 25%. Ah yes will each claim is different. I didn’t get a straight answer as to how I could make my paperwork better to get the price down to 15%. They do all the scanning on site so its really easy was the not so direct response.
    4. As I’ve paid my maintenance up to date (yes I still hate the BLEEPERS but I am damned if I am going to leave the property empty for them to rent out in my absence. As each year goes by it almost feels less costly – I should be about straight if I can just live until I am 199 !
    5. I missed the 2nd call from the senior consultant and was emailed with a ‘we hope that Silverpoint, for its them in the guise of Resort Properties who caught me an the good lady, haven’t got to you and got you to drop your chance of a refund with TRN.
    6. I’ve even had 2 emails now, one including Court papers from 2008 for a couple who took a firm in GC to court and apparently after appeal got their money back. You’d think with so many cases being one that something more credible and up to date than 2008 would be available.
    7. And all this should only take about 3 to 6 months, OR 2 years, quite a difference there.
So in short, it seems my name has got to another set of lists as a ‘have a go at this sucker and get some more cash out of him for the timeshare scam.
I will press Helen for some references of other clients who have one cases, I don’t hold much hope, but after reading the other comments form the good people on here I for one wont be giving anyone any more money to try and recoup my losses.

  16. Mr S says:

Well what do you know, some decent background about TRN.
Yep mark me down as being on someone else’s list of ‘have another go at this sucker’. Have had 2 calls now from TRN, and I have to brag 2 emails supporting their dubious claims. They even suggested that as I had missed the first appointment call with their ‘senior advisor’ HELEN HUSSEY that Silverpoint had somehow ‘got to me’ and got me to stop any further contact with TRN. I should laugh, as if Silverpoint even care about what its victims do. Helen’ number was 02035883900 and if you try and dial it comes up as unused.
So in summary here’s Helen’s “too good to be true, so it can’t be, can it?” offer (with supporting email, copy of case file from 2008, and PDF brochure).
    1. Just £399 gets a home visit from a Spanish claims assessor – sent over especially to look at my paperwork or I can indulge a week in Gran Canaria in a 5 star appartment that sleeps 6 (hmm sounds familiar), all fully refundable once you sign up for them to progress your claim. Helen laughing adds that people take their mates, get them to pay for it and its a win win….not for me I guess.
    2. Costs – of course that’s no win no fee, but its 15% to 25%, of whatever the COURTS decide to award. However when pressed the lovely Helen couldn’t tell me just how I could make my case file better to get the 15% charge.
    3. They have all the details of previous sc*** by Resort Properties as alas when you think there could be a way out your are happy to discuss, for free, all the wrong doings by those BLEEPERS in Tenerife. Its a shame that sales pitches are so good – are we all so easily read ?, seems I was, but no longer !
    4. There were no guarantees given, but TRN had apparently not lost a case yet !, how could they, the Courts had already placed an embargo on Resort Properties so its a foregone conclusion that I will win all my money back. I pressed this a little further as the case file emailed did indicate that the claimants had to appeal to get their refund, and that wasnt with Resort Properties or Silverpoint.
    5. I was intrigued to see who got ownership of the properties once the contract was nullified, Silverpoint apparently get this back and then appily flog it to another poor sole – wonderful !
    6. My case, being so strong, would likely be fast tracked through and may take only 3 to 6 months, or 2 years….but TRN keep you updated with progress everso regularly.
    7. And then the classic, some courts have even awarded 2 times the value of purchase price covering interest and stress – well hold me back from sending a cheque this very instant.
I will string this out with TRN a bit longer to see how far they will go and then write in to Watchdog I think….tee hee.
I will post another update once I’ve made them work harder for absolutley NO MORE of my money.

    • Charlotte says:

I think we might do the very same Mr S, have you managed to find anyone who can actually help with this mess?

  17. Ted says:

I too have been Cold Called by TRN from Tel No:02035883901. On calling this number it was unobtainable!! A “Senior Assessor” is due to call back next week. The lady was vague when I said I would not pay any money up front, also no mention of a trip to Tenerife. Interesting! They seem to know an awful lot about our Timeshare. Where are they getting this information from, could it be that they are tied in with other Sc** Timeshare Sales oufits such as “Extra time on Line” that unfortunately I got tied up with. Thanks for the warning.

  18. Kathy says:

They called my dad tonight 77 frail, he because bad health and losing my mum is unable to go he has two white weeks quara bay Malta has to keep paying ridiculous maintenance fee from pension can we do anything I hate Malta and dad too ill to go this unwanted bill makes him idler. Like many others he was scammed 5 yrs ago £400 for some low life company to sell never heard from them again, can we write and give it back, Helen called so after this blog wil steer clear.

Can dad give back 29 yrs Ben paying, advice to get rid guys please ?

  19. George says:

Awaiting callback this afternoon from Joanne at TRN, with whom I had a previous conversation on the third of January. Obviously from what I know now, I will not be taking her up on her offer of help. Also, speaking from past, and somewhat painful, personal experience, I would say with a great degree of certainty, that there is no chance whatsoever of any legal representation being successful in obtaining any form of refund for anyone. We have previously gone down the ‘Notary Public’ – via Local Solicitor legal document route to no avail, so it certainly appears to us that the so called legal people are actually part of the scams themselves. Unfortunately, all of these people, right from the person making the initial call, through to the so called lawyers expecting to act on your behalf, are only intent on riding the gravy train for as long and as far as it will take them. My advice would be to do as I have done, to give yourself time to look into these companies and the claims they make. Do not agree to anything, or make any type of payments until you have done your own bit of homework. BETTER BE SAFE – THAN SORRY!!!

  20. Mr W says:

We too have been contacted by TRN same patter just adding more stress, home visit offered £199 or trip to Grand Canaria £299 , is there anyone who can say they have had a result from this company,

  21. Claire says:

I have today received a cold call from “Helen” conversation same as all of the above! An assessor will call me Monday, has anyone got their money back? I told her I was going to look them up having been approached before. The Achilles Heel is we all want to get rid of them, as asked above, is it possible to do so and does anyone know a reputable firm?

  22. pk says:

I was cold called yesterday evening by a lady calling herself ‘ Helen ‘. Although I didn’t get the name of the company she claimed to represent, she clearly knew all about my timeshare in Los Cristianos and claimed that I was undoubtedly mis-sold and that they were representing ‘ thousands ‘ of clients in a group litigation and would be able to recover all monies plus compensation with the added benefit of relieving me of my maintenance burden. This being on a no win, no fee basis but hey would take 25% in the event of success.

We agreed that someone would call me today ( this was so as to enable me to make some inquiries re the validity of the offer ).

Inquiries into the phone number used ie 0034 911 871531 showed to a company called Resorts 4 All, a timeshare and holiday club company the subject of much criticism on the Internet. they appear to have recently ceased trading as a holiday company.

Research showed them linked to Reclaimgc, Voyager Travel and Lifestyle Holidays, again the subject of bad press and warnings to customers.

The agreed phone call took place this evening from the phone number detailed above. The lady stated that she was representing Timeshare Refund Network and the call was to test the validity of any claim re mis-selling that I may have.

When I asked if her company was linked to Resorts 4 All, a timeshare business, she denied all knowledge stating that she had never heard of them! I explained that the phone number was until very recently that of ‘ Resorts ‘ but again she tried to dismiss it as sheer coincidence or perhaps it was that they used to operate from the same premises, although she had never heard of them!

It was at this stage that any credibility she or the company she represented evaporated and I ended the conversation.

  23. NXXXX says:

I to have been contacted by TRN today they have strung the same line with me £399 up front then when the representative comes to check my papers, presuming I keep the appointment they will refund the money. I declined the trip to the Gran Canaria, It looks like our names must be on a scammers listing, well enough is enough.

  24. Dee says:

I was contacted by Carmel of TRN today to arrange a call back by an assessor. Despite me telling her that after being called by another company J D Knight Associates 2wks ago, also stating I can claim due to fraud, I phoned the CAB & the Financial Ombudsman office to see if their claim is true that under Section 75 we can claim back our money. I believe this is only possible if our payment to Incentive Leisure Group was made by credit card. Both companies claim this is not so & we have a case. I will be cancelling the assessor’s call, having read these reports. We are resigned to the loss of our money so unless anyone knows of a good law firm that can give an honest response to the chances of getting a refund I will not be taking any more cold calls. I get about 2-3 a week!

  25. Philippa says:

ok ive also been contacted today by TRN, we have Club Paradiso in Tenerife (upgraded from 6 weeks, but thats another long and painful story), and paid £399 (500 euros), but they have said that a lawyer will come to my home address (UK) to pick up all the paperwork. Ive been scammed by so many people, telling me they will sell my timeshare, (yes I paid them, two different companies), Is there anyone out there who is NOTon this timeshare scams that can actually help us in a desperate need to get the hell out of them. So whats the advise on TRN, still not too clear to be honest, have they won any cases, I’ve got a lot of emails, telling me they have???

    • Mr S says:

      Philippa
I too had the whole 5 weeks of investment timeshare converted into a Paradiso week, oh how foolish.
Did you ever get a home visit for your £399 ?
My entry is under Mr S on this page if you are willing to let me know, I understand if you dont.
If it makes life any more bearable, the Paradiso apartments in Tuscany are fab, and we’ve just come back from the Duabi one. Its ok but its about an hour from Dubai old town so dont expect to be able to wonder around at night and then slip home. The plus side is the new metro is about 80p for the 30kn journey, yes 80p.

  26. Alan says:

I have been contacted by “TRN” who claim that I was mis-sold my timeshare in Malta. My details given in a previous phone call had been “lost” due to a computer crash! After giving brief details again they require £249 for a legal representative to come to visit me! I have paid by credit card, but will be cancelling tomorrow. The decision process on the phone is identical to most pressure sales – suggest a “deal” with me then get it confirmed with the manager – “we’ll do you a discount deal and rush this case through”! Thanks for this web site and blogg – people beware !!

  27. john says:

    John
As everyone else. I have been called today by Angie at TRN who has said that I qualify for them to commence legal proceedings, but would need to visit GC to talk to the lawyers. Accomodation will be provided at a refundable charge of £399.Can we all keep in touch on this matter via this website. As usual with timeshare, this offer looks too good to be true!!!

  28. nana says:

i have been contacted by TRN also peter who says their can get my money back have to pay £339 to go to gran canary to meet with spanish lawyers because i bougth in spain has anyone had their money back

    • Nigel says:

I had a call from them and am waiting a call back to see if my case can proceed for a fraudulent sale in. They already knew a lot about my purchase. We are all in the same boat here – has anyone got any further with them?

  29. Ellen says:

We also have been contacted by TRN angela and a senior consultant claim that they were lawyers to support and represent our case in Tenerife, they claim to be geniune and agreed to meet us in Tenerife for a deposit of £207 which they said is refundable in cash,we havent heard from them since, very suspicious !!!

  30. Peter says:

I too have been contacted by TRN(Peter – Senior Consultant). Same story £399 for a new (3 months old apartment) refundable on our appointment with the lawyers in Gran Canaria. Payment comes in form of 15-25% from case.

  31. Thomas says:

I haqve been contacted by TRN ,the basis of their proposal is that the management of R esort Properties, now called Slverpoint have been indicted for fraud in the Canary Islands, and that they had broken a number of Spanish civil and EU directives, which could lead to consideral financialpenalties. They claim they are only an in between for lawyers on Tenerife,so that you would have to go to Tenerife to talk to the Lawyers in person. They would arrange accommodation for a week for £399 in a resort which would be refundable from the proceeds of the case. The Lawyers would work on a no fee /no claim basis.I am suspicious!!.
