Have you been contacted by Sunny Reservations for a Timeshare Resale?

New cold caller for our list is Sunny Reservations.

Sunny Reservations presents themselves as a Travel Agent, but they also seem to deal with Timeshare Resale’s.

Most consumers that have been cold called by Sunny Reservations have also been contacted by other dubious companies and we certainly do not exclude the fact they might all be connected.

The website from Sunny Reservations www.sunnyreservations.com was registered on the 13th of November 2012

The website appears like any travel agent website, but the links they provide for Hotels and Car Rental have nothing to do with Sunny Reservations and can be accessed through the web without going through them.

For contact there is a phone number 0844 911 0017 and an emails: admin@sunnyreservations.com , info2@sunnyreservations.com

The address they provide in the paperwork is a post box: Apartado de Correos 70011 – 46007 Valencia, Spain

The pitch they use on the phone is about the fact they as a travel agent also sell timeshare weeks for those interested in this form of holidays. They even have buyers waiting for the right week / resort

In order to process the sale Sunny Reservations does need a €1400 security deposit upfront.

Cold calls for guaranteed resale’s with upfront fees are never a good sign, especially taking in mind that Timeshare owner’s personal details are not available to buy so can only be obtained through unlawful sources and upfront fees go against the European Timeshare Directive.

If you receive a phone call from 08449110017 and you get Sunny Reservations on the line, remember the above and let us know.

My My – Sunny Reservations have obviously made a tsunami of calls with this offer …Very persuasive and persistent calls; I think where they succeed with their scam is they reassure sellers that they are covered by their Debit/Credit Card company – so what they are saying is they are ripping off the banks. When I challenged this point, the comment was “this is getting old now” and would ring back tomorrow. Good riddance, a scam by scum.

    • Tony says:

Received a call yesterday evening (27th May) from Sunny Reservations (based in Valencia). Caller’s name was given as Claire Hunter, asking if we are interested in selling our Club Class VIP membership (which we’ve never used!). Said she has a buyer – named him as Stuart Pennington of Bristol – who is willing to pay £10,500. Having fallen foul of this type of scam in the past, through a company called Excalibur, we had to wait a year to get our 995 euros back which we had paid through MasterCard. When I told her this, she said we wouldn’t pay anything upfront but would need to sign an ‘indemnity form’ to the value of 1,495 euros as protection for the buyer in case we didn’t release our documentation. Knowing we have signed that form would give the purchasers confidence to deposit £10,500 into our bank account, after which we would release our documents. Logic (and simple maths) says that, if we were dishonest, by signing that document and hanging on to our documents we would be £9,000+ better off and still have our documents! I said I would do some research of my own and they could ring back in a couple of days – if they do, it’s going to be an interesting conversation, culminating in (to quote the Britain’s Got Talent judges) a huge NO!

So grateful I found this site…..was contacted last week by Sunny Reservations regarding our club class prestige membership. Contacted again tonight…offered £9800 and with the provisor of paying 1500 Euro deposit pending receipt of paperwork….was tempted as we dont use membership much but alarm bells rang at the mention of giving credit card info… they are calling again tomorrow….thanks to your site we will NOT be taking up their oh so generous offer.

I too have been called today from Charlie Barritt stating that he had a buyer for our Sapphire Club Class time share which I might add we lost £6000 on (he is calling back tomorrow). He has been offered (and had the client with him) £8,500 to purchase the timeshare and I told him I would sell. Then came the speel of signing the surrender form before the money had even been transferred. He is ringing me tomorrow and I will tell him that no money no surrender form and I think I shall not hear from him again. We have lost £6,000 from Club Class and I am certainly not being parted from any more money. Glad I read all the comments on your sight.

  10. Mick says:

Contacted last week .by Sunny Reservations to see if I wanted to sell my Club Class Prestige membership. I am already in touch with the liquidator in the UK as Club Class and some associated companies I understand have gone bust (in the UK anyway). I let them go through all the spiel and said I might be interested. They said they would get back to me if they got a buyer. Today (23rd April 2013) I had a call from a Charlie Barritt? telling me he had an interested couple sitting with him who were prepared to offer £10400 for my membership. I said I might be interested and asked what the process was from now on. It seemed quite good until I was told I would have to stomp up 1495 Euros for which they would need my credit card details. This I was told was just in case I failed to complete the last stage of the sale by not returning the release form. At this point I ended the conversation and would advise any others contacted by this company to do the same.

  11. Mary says:

Called yesterday by Charlie Barritt, said he’d call back today, offered us £14000 which they upped to £15000, then came the debit card details which my husband gave. They said they would call back later. Lady who called back gave me a different story that the Euro 1400 was up front, and we said that wasn’t what we’d been told, so we weren’t interested. Answer was “Goodbye” Since then 2 calls from Charlie Barritt, trying to make us change our minds. We had by now found your website!

  12. Judith says:

Was called today by Sophie Walker at Sunny Reservations wanting 1495 euros to resell the timeshare we had cancelled years ago. On completion of the sale we would receive £3500.

  13. Sue says:

I too have been contacted by Sunny reservations to buy a my Compass Travel certificate for £5,000.00. I foolishly gave them by Barclaycard number, then I telephoned Barclaycard fraud dept. A few days later they wanted me to pay £1000.00 by Western Union to a Jo leak for Spanish taxes on the transaction I refused. I have had threatening telephone calls and silent calls. It is in the hands of barclaycard now.

  14. Christine says:

  15. G S says:

Sunny Reservations contacted me late November with a very convincing offer for my holiday club subscription.Foolishly i agreed, paperwork was sent by courior early December,i signed and sent off. I stumbled upon Mindtimeshare two days after and contacted them and got some usefull advice from Alberto Garcia this i followed As i had paid the deposit by Debit Card i informed my bank and gave them all relevent paperwork They took up my case just before Christmas and, i received refund of deposit mid January. I thought i had lost a lot of money but thanks to the advice given by Alberto Garcia i got it all back

  16. Denise says:

My 82 year old recently widowed mother was contacted by Sunny Reservations and very quickly afterwards by another timeshare company supposedly in the UK. Sunny reservations wanted a card payment of 1495 euros in order to send her a cheque supposedly for 8,000 euros. They gave her a story about 4 golfers wanting to buy and the cheque was waiting for her. She gave her debit card number over the phone but luckily we were able to stop the payment and she’s waiting for a new card to arrive from the bank. They have been phoning her since and asking her to sign the paperwork. We have told her to have nothing to do with them. We feel very angry that this is happening at all but particularly to her when she is elderly and newly widowed.
