Action Services International – ASI The saga continues….

The latest cold caller for a Compensation Claim against timeshare resorts is called Action Services International.

And yes indeed the name sounds very familiar, because this is number 4 on the list of the “Services International” cold callers.

We started with Professional Services International – PSI inviting consumers over to Fuengirola for a NO Win No Fee consultation. Then we got World Services International WSI who seemed to be concentrating mainly on home visits in the UK and followed up by Global Services International GSI a new office opened up recently in El Albir in Alicante, Spain.

But now we have a new one, Action Services International who at first sight also seems to be operating from Albir in Alicante.

The telephone number used is 0207 57 00 341 and the address they quote (same as GSI) IS:

Boulevard de los Musicos 7, 03581 Albir, Alicante, Spain

What doesn’t change at all is the pitch on the initial cold call, the No Win No Fee claim, the class action funded by “private investors” and the survey the consumer needs to fill in to see if they are eligible to enter this Action. Strangely enough (NOT!) all consumers are eligible and all are invited to the meeting in Spain.

In the follow up email received from the Customer Services Department the consumer can read the following: PLEASE NOTE: Action Services International DO NOT buy, sell or trade in timeshare or any other products.

But those who attended the meeting know better! Indeed there is no selling or trading, but there is the pressure about the disposal service and consumers end up signing a contract with Access Legal for a disposal. This disposal service comes with a price tag! Around £6000 has to be put on the table to get out of the timeshare.

Action Services International does not accept credit cards, and a deposit is requested there and then for the “Notary” charges. These charges are calculated to be approximately £1000 but most consumers who don’t carry such a cash amount with them end up withdrawing their daily allowance of £500 and hand this over to Action Services International.

We cannot stress enough to all consumers that are cold called by the above mentioned companies that they all hold a strong connection with ITRA The International Timeshare Refund Action.

The call about the Class Action, the No Win No Fee claim that turns out to be a disposal service with a very expensive price tag…all different names of companies, different phone numbers, different locations, but one main company behind the set up! ITRA

So please be very careful with these calls and when attending these meetings, as we can assure you that the above companies are NOT set up for the “well-being” of timeshare owners and “fight for their rights”.

Please have a look at an article published about Action Services International in The Guardian on the 27th of January 2013: http://gu.com/p/3d9hg/tw

Further to my email of 29th December my friends have again had a ‘phone call from ASI, UK. As the husband was not in his wife said they had not received a letter. They have now received another letter from Alicante explaining that as the lady is disabled they will arrange a home visit & stressing in the letter that there will be no cost to them for settling the matter & they will receive 60% of the compensation received. HaHa. I have passed on to them all relevant details I obtained from mindtimeshare & the web & we are all waiting for the next ‘phone call!!!!
Will keep you updated. Many thanks again.

Had a call from ASI yesterday. Sounded very plausible but I am wise to all the false promises these cold callers make. Thank goodness for the internet, please be careful.

  3. Anne says:

Elderly friends of mine living in Scotland who own time-share at McDonald’s Forest Hills in Scotland have been contacted last week by Action Services International. Glad I checked them out. Many thanks.

There is also another cold caller called http://www.infinite-group.net and these too are working from Alicante. The caller wanted me to go ro Alicante to sign documents to sign over my timeshare there. It meant a 2 nighy stay in a hotel at only 5 days notice and at my own exzpense.

Apparently they got my details from HMS who also appear to be a scam company, based in Switzerland.

    Regards,

    NM
