AW Consultants, a claims company from La Cala de Mijas in Spain

Another new company brought to our attention, AW Consultants.

A.W. Consultants is a cold caller, and they offer to do a claim on behalf of the timeshare owner they are calling.

In order to start with this claim the need a “Court Filing Fee” of £450 which will show the court that AW Consultants is really acting on behalf of the timeshare owner.

AW Consultants does mention though that in the very “unlikely” event the claim fails, all monies will be returned to the timeshare owner.

A.W. Consultants have a website registered on the 27th of June 2012

Being a supposed claims company with legal advisors it is surprising there is no registration number of the company to be found on the web and neither any indication of the legal offices they work with.

Adress for A.W. Consultants is:

Centro Commercial, Cala Del Sol, No 17ª Primera Planta, La Cala De Mijas, Malaga, Spain.

Telephone (Spanish Mobile) +34 603 377 782 Fax: 0872 115 7975 Email: claims@awconsultants.eu

Cold calling companies offering legal services are not allowed in Spain, asking then for a supposed Court Filing fee upfront, does not make a company look very good.

We therefore do not recommend this company and we would certainly say to be careful when dealing with them.

My letter came from aw consultants, dated 13th Dec’12, after a few phone calls that they made to me (how did they get my contact number????). Yes they try hard but are NOT getting my money or bank details…letter not signed but states from Lisa Roberts. They are now asking for £560 payment upfront too! Police won’t do anything, as I’ve not been ‘scammed’ or any fraud taken place, as no monies have gone to them! Makes sense then???? I make payment and then the police might try to do them from fraud!

I have spent a lot of time talking to the police as well but to no avail. And, am now trying to investigate my particular case . The company who cold called me was Emerald Rock Holdings in Liverpool. they have robbed me of approximately £5000 and even tried to draw money fraudlently of £773 in Spain in August. Thanks to the eagle eyed staff at my bank who contatced me and stopped the payment being made. So far no assistance received from police at Liverpool and Derbyshire, and, all I get tld is that threy are too busy and rvert but no calls received. I think we should have a brain storming session (so to speak) to see if we can get some law passed to stop this cold calling scam and individuals be robbed of their hard earned cash through lies of timesshres being sold and monies to be paid to clients via bank transfers. Alberto Garcia is very informative and trying to build up a very strong case. We should all help him make this/these cases so strong that these scammers should be snt to prison for avery long time and all their collateral/assests be frozen and after investigation the vicitms be pais all/part of their hard earned cash.

How many of these companies have associations with Sochalls, and how come Sochalls are still collecting money for companies that have been closed down.

I am sure there must be a ‘mastermind’ behind all these little schemes. I wonder how long it can last, surely eventually people will catch on that these are all scams – as soon as they ask for money up front you KNOW it is! How many more naive, gullible people will be conned before this can be stopped. Makes me SO angry – I keep them chatting for as long as possible, but never with any intention of falling for the scam. A call centre (probably in India) called me the other day to say that someone at this number has had an accident in the last two years and can claim lots of money. Managed to play the ‘batty old lady’ card for about 20 mins before I let the poor lad go. Kept asking what sort of accident – remembered I’d fallen down the stairs and broken my back in 3 places (true). He got excited and asked how long ago – “Oooh, must have been about 12 years ago”. I asked him where he was – he said Manchester, so I asked if it was raining, told him I am in Portsmouth and it IS raining. (Neither true). Came off the phone giggling like mad.
