Have you been called from Resort Key with an accommodation offer?

Resort Key Logo

Resort Key is cold calling Timeshare consumers with accommodation offers in the different resorts around the world.

The agent from Resort Key actually claims to be working at the RCI Relocation department and the space they are offering is supposed to be from the “surplus space” they have at the resorts.

The offer ranges from £199.50 per week for a 1 bedroom apartment and  £229 for a 2 bedroom unit.

Resort Key has a nice looking website http://www.resortkey.co.uk/ which was registered on the 5th of September 2012 and another website www.resortkey.info which they registered on the 16th of May 2013

Main issue is though that the agent calling claims clearly that they are connected to RCI, but on the website in the “small print” this connection is denied.

On this elaborated website there is actually no address for Resort Key and contact can only be made by phone: 0843 207 4700 or filling in the contact form on the web.

Please note that this company called Resort Key has nothing to do with RCI and there is no connection at all. Neither have they been appointed to sell “surplus” space from RCI.

If you have been called by Resort Key from 08432074700 with an offer for Holiday Accommodation, then please let us know!

My dad has been contacted by Resort Key and unfortunately paid for two weeks and 2 flights for 452.00 eur. He is a member of rci and was told this is a sister co. working to sell unused weeks. The website was plush but odd, no real information on it. Can you let me know if this is a scam, he hasn’t signed and returned one of the duplicate receipts yet, which is what he had to do to start using his weeks. I can no longer find the resort key website for him and when I call the number it is a Spanish answerphone msg.

I was called by Resort Key (who said they were RCI Gold Crown Resorts) offering 2 weeks in a 2 Bedroom/2 Bathroom – UK, Europe or Worldwide with no exchange fees – for £199. Then they added a 14-night UK based cruise for £250 each. I kept saying ‘No’ and then I asked where Ian was calling from – and he said Newcastle which was reassuring but a lie for when I checked later it was from Spain. He said, ‘You know and can trust us. Stick with the firms you know.’ I said I was hard up and anyway, it sounded too good to be true. I should have hung up here – but was persuaded to hang on by further reductions – £349 for the lot. I used my credit card (it has been refused in the past for calls like this) and the payment was taken. Then I found Mindtimeshare – and saw I’d been duped. I was so ashamed and will certainly not let it happen again. After a lot of help from Alberto at Mindtimeshares, lots of writing letters and getting my credit card stopped and reporting to my bank exactly what had happened. I finally got a full refund – perhaps more than I deserve! I am so grateful to Alberto at Mindtimeshare for without him, I’m sure I would have lost my money. Thank you so much..

Hi, another call from Resort Key today, Gregg Fox again and then he passes onto his manager Rebecca, who tries to persuade us this is such a fantastic deal, why would anyone turn it down. Greg gave the phone number to call back of 0843 2079819. Offered us 2 weeks 5 star accommodation for up to 6 ppl for £398. They said they are reallocating all the unused weeks on behalf of various resorts and when we queried how they got our number they said we must have been to one of the resorts to be on the list. We said we had their details and would call back if we felt we were interested and were told that this offer wouldn’t be on the table after today. When we mentioned that they had said that to us last time they called us (in August), so how come they were calling now with the same offer, they seemed a little stumped and said we must have more than one timeshare which is why we have been called more than once ! Oh, and when we said basically this offer is “too good to be true”, she said that all payments were taken by Visa and if we weren’t happy that Visa would repay the money!! They were less rude than last time they rang, which is something I suppose. I am sure we will get a call from them in a couple of weeks time, but the answer will still be NO!

  4. Adam says:

I cannot begin to tell you what b******* these people are!! They attempted this last year with my terminally ill wife, (debit card stopped in time), and tried again yesterday with myself. Mentioned my wife in call, told them she died 6 months ago, still tried. Got very short thrift as I already knew about them. Again, guy called Clark, again, phone number 0843 207 9819, ext 24. Still trying to connect themselves to RCI, also mentioned Silverpoints!! Needless to say, they did not get anything other than a mouthful from me!!

  5. John says:

Have had 3 calls from this crowd over the last 3 days stating that I have not taken up the accommodation offer that was the subject of a mail shot around Christmas time. They were offering 3 weeks accommodation plus, as a bonus, a weeks cruise all for £495. “Too good to be true” came straight to mind so thank you Mindtimeshare as I was able to find out about them when still on the phone so told them where to go. They are obviously desperate and are now becoming a nuisance.

  6. Elaine says:

    • Jim says:

Visa will be of no help as the money was transferred into another account when it arrived.
I have spent a lot of time with Visa on this and they are unable to act on this.

  7. Jan says:

  8. jan says:

have paid money to resort key they were supposed to ring last Friday to speak to my husband about 2 weeks including flights to various places, no phone call. another call I have receive from a henry Truman telling me my membership from full circle holidays has run out and I can either renew for 20 years for 3,000 or sell for 8,000 with liability insurance at 1,590. I said I wasn’t interested and he said if I didn’t choose one of the options I would have to go to court. I am very concerned about this it is making me ill, I am 73 and not very well, please can you help me. do I need to worry or is this another scam, he is phoning this afternoon to speak to my husband, if you could possibly get b ack to me before 1pm(this is when he is phoning)I would be most grateful, I need to put my mind at rest, thank you in anticipation jan,

  9. P.W says:

Oh Hell, We paid before checking and are in the middle of trying to book a holiday but I agree, I do think this stinks and must start trying to retrieve our money. Having got our receipt for the holiday and voucher for the free flights which must be booked through Golden Travel Club, I looked at Terms and conditions of Golden Holiday Club and see a sentence about being aged betweeb 25 and 65, As we are well into 70’s is this going to be a way out? But will we ever get our money back. I am waiting for a return phone call from Nic Beaumont.

  10. Andrew says:

Received several calls from Ian (with a Geordie accent) at Resort Key. They claim to be getting your details from a database of people who have paid maintenance previously or owned time share. They say that due to the economy there is vacant space in many resorts and as a result they can put together the offer they present. They are industry aware and know what to say to make everything seem convincing. I made a few checks, but not enough, before paying, and found this website after. I did get a payment confirmation email, but when I tried to call back there was no answer. The Spanish number I was called on was 0034 966 897 752. If your bank is good they can check through to Visa or card company to verify this is a bogus company and hopefully get your money back. When payment is made it appears as Televentas Internaciaonal.
I checked out some of the resorts they said were in their portfolio and found that for the most part they were fully booked. They also claim to offer 5 star or luxury accommodation. Only a few are 5 star, most are 3 star. Nick Beaumont is said to be the bookings admin person.
I have seen and been aware of other offers of this nature (thats why they are convincing) but from all the comments people have written nobody has said they have been on any holidays!
    You live an learn!!

    • Claire says:

we were called today by Greg Fox from Resort Key. The call came up as international with no caller id on my phone but they gave us a return number to call as 08432079819. The offer was £398 for 3 ? weeks I think and flights. He passed onto his female manager whose name we didn’t manage to catch, but we did catch her rude and abusive manner when we said no! She was flabbergasted that we didn’t want a holiday for up to six people and flights for only £398 and told us we were timewasters and then hung up on us! What a silly woman! As many of you will know, if you have a timeshare or previously been on any timeshare presentations, your name is placed on a “suckers list”. We get phone calls from similar companies all the time, at least once every quarter, selling something similar. We always say no. PLEASE PLEASE don’t part with your money to these people or anyone else similar!

  11. Ursella says:

Wow, thank goodness for this site, they are absolutely taking advantage of vulnerable people!! Thanks to you I will not be stitched up and thank you God for telling me to check them out.

  12. Leanne says:

I have not been called with an offer, however my partner was offered a job in Benidorm with resort key. Can you confirm if it is real or not?

  13. Catherine says:

Received a phone call today from this company offering a two week cruise any where for two and two weeks 5 star holiday for 6 people all for £650 what a joke, I asked them to call me back later, I wanted to get all my facts correct. I established from many reviews what a scam this was, so when a lady called carol called with her false voice, boy did I give it her, they are taking advantage of vulnerable people, I also asked her how could she sleep at night after ripping people of. Please stay clear of them nothing is free in this world

  15. Dianne says:

We have just been contacted today offering the same deal. Refused to pay anything until we could check the company out!

  16. Bridget says:

I have been contacted over the past month nearly every day , £398 for 6 weeks including x2 flights I informed Nick I wasn’t happy giving my card details over the phone .he informed me I was protected by my credit card company . I asked for an email to be sent after I spoke to a nice lady ( Manager) Not much info in the email and website address not working !!!!!
My husband and I originally went to Malta three years ago as we won a holiday in Trafford Centre through this company. I only had to pay the fee last time £44.00 and get my own flights, The hotel was the Raddison Malta and we had a lovely stay. We did do the time share meeting and as I am a sales director ( thank goodness ) we were was not pushed in to anything. I have contacted Raddison today and they said they have nothing to do with this company….. thank you for all your comments, even though we had a lovely time …..I will not be handing any money over to them …until someone comes back with an update. Anyone been this year ? Bridget

  17. guinness says:

Nearly paid £498 for 3 weeks holiday for up to 6 people checked this web site first thank god!

    • Paul says:

Just been called by Elaine offering a free cruise if pay for a two week holiday £495.00 asked them to email the offer and nothing has come through surprise surprise

  18. Mike says:

Just another sc** to get money out of you, they called this morning and I spoke with a Clark Coleman, who told me that my timeshare had not been used for 10 years and would closed down if I did not pay £700 for the two week. When I said no he offered me two weeks in five star accommodation for just £179 per week. I again repeated I was not interested after a short while another male saying he was the manager came on the line, and tried to barter down the price. Once again I repeated I was not interested. At this he put the phone down., BEWARE !!!!

  19. Louise says:

I got a call of a nice young lady called April she told me they were NOT RCI and work from a daterbaise of timeshare clients who have paid maitinance and I had an entitlement due to the Matinance I had paid she also explained their would be a 90min meeting on our weeks (we got 2) we have taken 1 week the meeting was asking you if you want to upgrade or use the hotel services we booked for a massage the meeting is a must but worth it for a fab 5* holiday im told their is no meeting on the cruise that we are going to do next summer And it was a bargain it seems that people think its to good to be true so automatically think its a sc** iv had no problems except it took me 3 attempts to get someone to answer the phone to book my week but they were very polite and apologised for the wait. Ill keep you all informed on the cruise. Here’s to a happy holiday #cheers

  20. Diane says:

can anyone tell me if resortkey.co.uk is anything to do with resortkey.info please? I have a feeling it may be, and if so we have been sca****. Having read through the comments for resortkey. co.uk, the name Nick was mentioned as the person in charge of booking and administration and the manager that Spoke to us ,Ian D, mentioned that a Nick would deal with our booking!! Am I right to be worried?. As soon as I read the comments on the internet, I called my credit card company and cancelled the payment

  21. Norman says:

My wife has answered the phone to these people several times and on each occasion said she was not interested. Today I answered the phone to someone called Andrew McKenzie. Offered me three weeks holiday for £199 per week for the two of us at a variety of locations here and abroad. Purely out of curiosity allowed him to go on. While he was still speaking his voice became smothered by ‘office noises.’ I repeated several times that I could no longer hear what he was saying then, clear as a bell, came a woman’s voice. She gave her name and position with the company but I can’t remember either. We now came to the crunch: to hold my entitlement to these three weeks holiday I was required to pay a £500 deposit. TODAY! It had to be completed today. I told her I would discuss it with my wife and she is calling me back at 5pm. My next stop was this we site (which I visited before). I have not been surprised by what I have read. I am greatly looking forward to the lady’s call this evening!

  22. Naomi says:

Interestingly http://www.resortkey.co.UK is no longer accessible. Let’s hope they don’t reinvent themselves under a different name and con more people like me. I’m currently trying to get my money back through my credit card company

  23. FIONA says:

I am glad I have found this site they have rung several times over the last 2 weeks even though we have told them we have transferred ownership – they even sent me their email. Now they are saying we have a cruise and they need us to urgently ring them to confirm our interest. They do say it relates to points gained over the years when paying maintenance on the timeshare and make reference to RCI. They even want us to give them details of who we transferred ownership to. They are driving me mad, as I can see the number on our phone we are now ignoring the calls.

  24. Richard says:

Has anyone actually been on one of there holidays yet and can relate there experience?

  25. Robert says:

Thanks for your web site I have not been sucked into a sc**. Initial caller suggested that he was representing RCI. his manager then came on and said that they did not but did get all their information from the time share companies. He said he is going to call me back, although I did tell him that I would be checking the web site for information on his company. He will not get any business from me.

    Many thanks again

  26. Gloria says:

Really glad I am not the only person out there being harassed by these people. Sick to death of them. Does anyone know how to get your name and number off their database?

  27. Terry says:

Have had numerous cold calls over last 2 years from this ‘organisation’. They now introduce conversation as ‘re-distribution for Silverpoint ‘,which as I own a week at Hollywood Mirage ,Tenerife am aware of.Earlier calls mentioned RCI.I am not a member of RCI and believe my details have been supplied from either Hollywood Mirage or Beverley Hills.I too have had follow up calls from supervisers and, today, customer services to enquire why I have not taken up their latest offer(I have previously suggested they check this informative web site)

  28. Paul says:

Just received a call from Resort Key. Told the girll I would look at their website. As soon as I put their name in, up came alll your comments. So glad I did, thanks for all your comments. I am beginning to think ALL COLD CALLS are SCA**. Thank you everyone.

    • Cautious says:

I’ve just received a call from Resort Key offering everything previously stated in this string. Fortunately I checked online and found this website. The old adage applies “if something sounds too good to be true it usually is” Thanks for all the advice from everyone on this site.

  29. shaun says:

  31. della says:

My father in law at the age of 73 paid for 2 weeks holiday, in total £399.he gave us them and said he would like us to have the holidays for our honeymoon…to find out this is a con is devastating for us to know that these people have ripped him off!!!

  32. Nick says:

Monday 8th April..been sucked into this, paid £399 for two weeks + 3 extra weeks with 6 return flights included. Recieved e mail later to confirm this but not very specific as to what I,ve got. Will not pay credit card and contacted resort keys who asked me to write in with reasons for wanting to cancel. Also advised Trading Standards who advised to contact a fraud hotline no…03001232040. No doubt the letter will not be ‘recieved’ in Alicante. There address is RESORT KEYS, AVENIDA MARINA-BAIXA, No. 55 LA-NUCIA, ALICANTE, 03530. Nick 9th April

    • Richard says:

Nick me too!! Have looked on google earth at there address looks empty nd up for sale.I am tempted to turn up with a few friends if i can trace there proper address!!

      • Richard says:

Update time !. i sent the form on the website stating i was not happy etc. Within an hour i had a call!!! The caller stated that they were not a scam company and that i should have receieved an email confirming my purchase and when he checked with me they had in fact got my email addy wrong.I corrected that with him and Within a very short time i did receive a confirmation email. He also stated that i would recieve some documentation through the post. This morning that did arrive.Having looked through it I am happier than i was yesterday. When i recieve the rest (Vouchers etc) I will update again. To be totally honest I am happier after the long chat yesterday and also with the quick response to comments that i made on the contact form. so far so good .to be continued …………….

  33. Sue says:

Just been called by Resort Key with a similar offer to others mentioned here. The figure quoted was £498 for 2 week hol plus flights. I am always cautious of holiday companies cold calling (never got calls before owning timeshare) so I simply said my holiday is already booked for this year and I don’t have any extra money to spend! I then ‘googled’ the name – so glad I didn’t get sucked in!

  34. Frisby says:

I have also been contacted by these resort ///////// care key plus more names making out they have surplus bonus weeks we have not used. We have refused anything to do with them and each time it is a different agent talking.will it ever stop these SCAMS.

  35. Chris says:

On 10th January 2013 I started a thread on Trip Advisor to advise others of this company, there have been many responses:-

The people that phone from Resort Key are full of lies, I was offered on the phone 2 weeks at a luxury resort for £399, follow up email says “1 week at a luxury resort + You have also been awarded a European holiday voucher* for up to 6 people in a holiday resort of your choice in either Fuerteventura, Ibiza, Mallorca, Malta, Portugal, Spain, Tenerife or Turkey. This includes 7 days accommodation and up to 3 return air tickets free! All you have to pay is a small administration fee £44.50pp”

This company is trying to appear that they are a UK company by employing English people, their phone number is a premium rate UK number and their website is co.uk

CAVEAT EMPTOR (let the buyer beware)

  36. dc says:

offer of two weeks for £599 plus free week, all including flights available for 3 years (and extenda ble). tax of £44 pp chargeable. agent misquoted website as resortskey, specifically adding the “s”. second phone call claimed to be associated with rci. was tempted to counteroffer £250 just to see how they would react, since they were more desperate than me! after reading the comments here decided it was not worth the time!

  37. Mrs J M says:

Been phoned 4x by this company each time the seller getting louder and more insistent on wishing to know why I was not going to purchase from them .Having been conned before by a similar company there is no way I will be buying any holiday over the phone.Ask where they got your details from as if you own a Timeshare that info should be confidential.

  38. Caroline says:

They have rung us a few times to offer us a resort for £499 for three people with flights. So glad I did some research first. They are going to ring back tommorow but my phone will be engaged. Lucky escape. Caroline.

  39. Iris says:

Contacted yesterday offering us 2 weeks (separate if wanted) and flights for one of the weeks to European destination. Total cost £499. Said we wanted more details and then received e-mail from them with details. Also a charge of £44.50.
Did not agree to offer on the ‘phone and “manager” was put on to us. When we still said no they even rang back to confirm and to ask why.
Glad I did my research on the Internet and found them to be fra*******.

  40. Dee says:

They have been phoning me today trying to get me to pay £498 over the phone for a three week holiday for up to six people!!!!! Including flights to any destination I want 5 star resorts.
