A new company is cold calling under the name European Consumer Complaints.

The name surely is intended to make the consumer believe it handles an official entity, put in place to help out consumers with their refund claims.

This website was registered in September 2012 and has also been used as reference for other so called claims companies working from different locations in Spain.

European Consumer Complaints claims to be based in Madrid but our research has shown they are actually in Tenerife at the Canary Islands.

Apart from the cold call there seems to be different approaches where the services to the consumers are offered.

Some people are requested fees upfront in order to start the process of the claim and others are only asked for their credit card details which supposedly will be kept on hold and used in the event the consumer does not pay the 10% commission after the refund has been done.

European Consumer Complaints offers to handle a claim under the Consumer Act, which is a service that is offered by many other companies. But they also make the consumer believe that the claim will be processed quicker if done through them and that the consumer has more chance to be successful.

These are statements that cannot be confirmed and consumers, who fulfill the requirements of claiming through the Consumer Act, are as far as we know as successful in claiming directly as those who chose to use a company for this.

Cold calls, upfront fees and confusing locations, give us all the reasons to ask for caution with this company.

    Was contacted last night 20 th feb 13 the lady said it is free advice so we can claim our money back from incentive lesure but there is only a short time left to do this,they are ringing me today at 2 pm uk time to give me advice on rhow to deal with my claim ourselves or they can recomend a company that can.They are based in Madrid.     Hi alberto and team. Ive been off air for a while. These people are so rude when they call. They called me just before xmas and I tried to ask the guy that called me a question (I cant remember his name) and he said quite fiercely ” Why dont you just shut up and listen when people are talking to you” I cant print my response to him and I then put the phone down. He called back and left a message to say i was a foul mouthed person the call was taped and the police were on there way to arrest me and that I would be locked up for a long time. Well I am still waiting for the police to arrive. It didnt frighten me but someone of a nervous disposition may well have been affected.

    Have been called today by a lady called Holly. She sounds very genuine but now I’ve got the e-mail I’m not so sure. I wasn’t convinced in the first place and now reading these comments I’m even more doubtful. All details the same as those from Geoff, posted on 10th Feb 13. Be interested to hear more about this.

    Inadvertently I had to put my phone back on to make a call and he trapped me as I rang off. It was Michael someone (I didn’t catch the surname) who said he had rung me before. I have put him off for a week on a day when I have to be away from here. He had obviously forgotten that on Saturday the ‘lists were going to be closed on Tuesday’ (tomorrow) but he was holding a space especially for me. Such kindness! Regards. Marrion

    We have today( 10/02/2013 ) been cold called by a Robert from ECS on 08458620871 but claiming to be calling from Madrid. A follow up E-Mail from admin@EuropeanConsumerSolutions.com explaining ( our very doubtful ) options was signed by a Maria Jane Pilkington on 08458620145.
    I am assuming that this is the same company as ECComplaints??
    I will forward their E-Mail to you.

    Hola Alberto,
    Got a call a few days back from this organisation, offering to help recover money from Incentive Leisure Group (of fond memory!). Told the lady I was dealing with this myself. She suggested that professional help would expedite the process, which could be difficult, and suggested I contact Solutions in Tenerife.
    No way! This rang loud alarm bells! I thanked her for her advice and ended it there
