RCI Action Group – rciactiongroup.com still trading…

It can’t be explained!!

RCI Action Group – http://wp.me/p1kmoi-y5 –  is still cold calling timeshare owners offering a compensation claim.

RCI Action Group is a brand linked to ITRA, and therefore to the Club Class Group of Companies – http://wp.me/p1kmoi-A3 –

The Insolvency Service described the practices of the seven Club Class companies wounded up simply as a SCAM:

“This action shows that The Insolvency Service will investigate and close down companies set up to SCAM the public”– http://goo.gl/RWu70 .

I repeat, it can’t be explained!!!

This is a copy of the email that RCI Action Group is sending to the timeshare owners:

Subject: Important development at RCI Action Group
Date: Thu, 2X Feb 2013
From: RCI Action Group <info@rciactiongroup.com>

 Dear XXXXX,

This email contains important information and requires you to sign and return important documents that are needed to protect your right to claim compensation from RCI Europe. Please read this email and the three documents below, and then follow the instructions.

Please sign and return the documents to the address below before Wednesday XXth March 2013 to protect your rights.

Why am I writing to you now?
Good progress has been made organising the action group to prepare the claim against RCI Europe. This Agreement governs your relationship with Edwin Coe LLP. Details about it are provided in the explanatory letter from the firm.

What do you have to do?
1. Could you please read all three documents listed below:

a. Explanatory letter from Edwin Coe LLP;
b. Conditional Fee Agreement.;  and
c. Conditional Fee Agreement sign-up – Frequently Asked Questions

2. In order to be included in the proceedings please print, sign and return, by post, the Conditional Fee Agreement to arrive no later than XXth March 2013 to:

Is the ITRA organisation a scam or does it do anything to assist disposal of the timeshare ?

The way it works is this –
Lawyers make themselves a pain in the backside via a ‘class action’.
Whether legally worthwhile or not, their target (RCI here) usually rolls over and pays out to get rid of them.
Lawyers fees, not surprisingly, usually equal the huge payment received from the targets.
Plaintiffs (those who sign the agreement) may get pennies if anything at all.

    Hi again

This arrived about 1 minute after I had emailed to ask. Question now answered, thanks.

    Best wishes

I too have been emailed today by rciaction group. In order to process a claim against RCI on my behalf they are asking me to sign and return a conditional fee agreement. They ask for this but then go to great lengths to assure me that I do not have to pay anything unless the case is won.

If this is so won asks why I need to sign such a document which is 9 pages long and written in legal jargon. Call me a cynic but I would pose the question is this deliberately done to dissuade people from reading, let alone understanding, the document before signing.

I have no faith in this action group given what I have learnt from Mindtimeshare and will be ignoring their email and most certainly not signing any agreement.
