It is not the first time that consumers are being duped more than once is a Timeshare Resale transaction. It happens often that companies ask for an upfront fee, and once this has been paid another company follows up as a supposed tax agent, corporate buyer or in this case a solicitor.
Shalaboo Ltd contacts those consumers who have paid a deposit in order to secure their resale through Secure Transfer Holdings.
The consumer has paid around £1300 and is keen to know when the money will be transferred into his account.
But a nice lady called Laura (or Karen) from Shalaboo Solicitors appears on stage and confirms that they hold the money of the sale but before being able to release this there is a small issue. The consumer has to pay £4500 in taxes. Laura from Shalaboo Ltd also explains kindly that by law this payment has to be done by the consumer as the Tax offices do not accept payments on their behalf.
Nice excuse for not using the supposed money that they have received for the sale!
Doing some research on Shalaboo Ltd we have found out that they are actually registered in the UK Companies House.
This registration was done in September 2012 under the Directors name Robert Andrew Stevenson.
Most surprising is to see the companies’ address: 145 – 157 St John Street in London. A very familiar address lately on this blog! We have at least 5 dubious companies claiming to be based on the same address!
The phone number used is 0161 28 6666
The Director, Mr Stevenson has more companies under his name; Camura Ltd and Landseer Management Ltd.
Going back to the tax payment requested by Laura from Shalaboo Solicitors, this payment needs to be done by bank transfer. And once the payment is received in a couple of days afterwards the consumer will receive the payment for the sale of his timeshare.
Needless to say that the payment never arrives and the phone is not picked up..
If you have been contacted by Shalaboo Ltd from 016128666 in London for a payment after your timeshare has been successfully sold, then please let us know.
