Resorts Europe a new Fly-buy Company or just a name change?

Numerous inquiries have been received over the past days about a cold calling company under the name of Resorts Europe.

Resorts Europe is cold calling Timeshare owners with the story about promotional weeks on offer and discounted flights.

They actually tell the consumer that this offer has been made because they paid their maintenance fees on time. This of course creates the sense that Resorts Europe is connected to the consumers resort and obtained their details from them.

But this is not true!

Other consumers are being told that the weeks they purchased from Resort Servie Care are about to expire and Resorts Europe is able to renew these against a payment.

The offer consists of 6 weeks in 5* Accommodation in Europe and a voucher for 6 return flights and all this for £199

But who are Resorts Europe exactly? Their contact telephone is 0845 862 1496

Consumers who asked for more information were told they are based in Gateshead in the UK but that there are also 3 more administration offices in Spain, Tenerife and USA.

Those consumers who asked for a website were told they could have a look at the following website:

This explains a lot. Resort Care Europe is not an unknown company to us!

Resort Care Europe or RCE has been mentioned on this blog several times and we have a lot of consumer feedback.

So we need to ask again why a company such as Resorts Care Europe who claims to be a genuine and trustworthy Holiday company is using a different name.

Are they trying to avoid a match in Google if a consumer searches for more information before paying over the phone?

What is it that these companies need to hide so desperately that they keep on changing their names?

Reading the blog and all the comments, we can do a good guess as to why this is.

And we would like to add that rest assured, we as Mindtimeshare will continue to publish our articles every time a name change is detected.

The consumers have the right to know!

If you have been contacted by Resorts Europe from 08458621496 for a holiday offer, then please let us know.

Beware the new scam they are calling up i think they are calling themselves Resort Care International now, saying that you have several weeks of bonus weeks that you haven’t used up and they must be banked on this day for a cost of £400.

I was called today by a chap from Resort Care Europe, interestingly he spelt it out as R C E, maybe to confuse me to think RCI??! Knew it was a s*** straight away, so just play along to get as much info as possible and then post it here! He offered me 3 weeks 5 star gold crown holidays for £398, the offer for which was to expire today – what a surprise! He said I had been emailed about them previously ( I haven’t) and quoted my correct email address. He said a 4 day European stay was also included in the offer. He said this was available to me as I had spent so much money in the past on maintenance fees and that I would miss out if I didn’t take it. I asked him for time to think about it and perhaps I could call him back – he then handed over over to Natalie, the Floor Manager, who went through same spiel. I asked her to email the deal to me and at this point, she hung up on me! So, if I ever do get an email from them, I will post the details on here, but don’t hold your breath guys, I doubt I will ever receive it. Please, anyone receiving these kind of calls, check the company out first before you commit. Something that appears too good to be true usually is. I should add, I do have a timeshare and I am 100% happy with it. We get calls from companies like this every couple of months – all the same kind of offer, which we decline, but not before getting as much detail as possible for posting on Mind Timeshare! There was no telephone number on my caller ID – it just said international.

Bob says: I too have had prowith Resort Care Europe. Firstly they telephoned implying they were from RCI of whom we used to be members and offered what seemed like a good deal for £199, on agreeing and giving my credit card No(I know, I know never do so!) it was suddenly £398 on complaining I was referred to the “manager”who increased the offer several times. Since then they rang to say my offer was expiring that day and a further £199 would extend it further! Is there no way that Trading Standards can deal with these obviously doubtful operators?

My elderly Mother is being costantly harassed by this company for money. When I contacted them on a Spanish telephone number I was verbally abused by the representative Julia and the Company owner who said his name was Sam Thompson before telling me to go f*** myself and hanging up. He made threats to continue to ring my Mother when I wasn’t at her residence. He refused to give me ANY company info at all but said his company had been in operation for 13 years! I need to put a stop to this. Any help and information very gratefully received please.

My experience is exactly the same as everyone else. The latest e-mail from them , last week, informs me that we do not fit the requirements for the 2 holiday choices that we gave – we must be between 30 and 68. I’m now waiting to hear which resorts will take my other half who is now 69 – 70 in June.

  6. Trevor says:

Been phoned up tonight 4th Dec 13, apparently I paid £500 last year and only took 2 weeks of the 5 weeks purchased? For £399 I could have 2 weeks 6 berth accommodation anywhere in world and we could have 6 free flights to a Europe destination. I told the lady that they were mistaken and she put me onto the Manager who insisted that I had paid last year and had 3 weeks left to take at anytime provided I paid the money today. I told him I had not got that kind of money at this time and he reduced it to £199 as I was a pensioner. I asked him what resorts he had in the Dominican Republic and he said any of them where did I stop last year I told him Lifestyle Vacation Club and he said he had them on his system and I said your paying for the flights he said they were included and I said At £624 a flight he said he would give me an extra week as we could not have the flights as they were only valid in Europe. He was most indignant when I told him I would not be requiring my “weeks”.

  7. Mike says:

Rang me last night claiming that I had two weeks free because I had paid the service contract on time, and offering to extend it for three years for £199 (always seems to be £199!). Glad to get the info from here -thanks

  8. G I says:

I have just had a call from them offering to extend 2 weeks which were apparently purchased in December 2011. £199 and we receive 6 airfare vouchers. I have told them I want to check it out first.

  9. John says:

had a call 24 September 13. the are still at it same story claim to be chasing up unused bonus holidays and want £199.00 to save them but they will give me 6 free flights. told them to F### off. but they tried again later the same night. My advice is to ask them to send details via E-mail if they are unwilling to then it’s a s***.

  10. Bill says:

just contacted me today same deal £199 to renew said just back from holiday so cotact me next month they said could not guarantee the6 flights if I didn’t do it today but I said I still will leave it till next month then I looked you up

  11. Michael says:

Just had a call from Resorts Care Europe – seemed to offering what you have shown above- essentially wanting £199!

  12. Sally says:

I was phoned last week and told that a holiday I had pusrchsed -2 years ago was about to expire that day, but if I payed £150 I would get 6 free flights and my holiday would have no expiry date anymore. W hen the emailed paperwork came through they had taken £398.99 not £150. Happily I payed by MasterCard so I am covered by Credit Card insurance and I should get all the money back. I was able to Log In to the site and to look at their resorts which all looked very nice, but on phoning all 3 telephone numbers they were all on answer phone! I was suspicious when I found that out of 5 Moroccan resorts 2 were crossed out and a third was having its web page redesigned so was in viewable.

  13. charlie says:

Exactly the same has happened to me as Sarah has experienced. They stated that my offer had “expired” and when i challenged this they asked me to get the paperwork, I was not in the position to get at that time and they stated that they would phone me back. (This was last week) Someone spoke to my husband this morning and stated that they understood that we had weeks registered with a company that had gone “bust”, my husband said he knew nothing about this and suggested they phone me back this afternoon, I am awaiting their call, should be interesting knowing what I now know. Thanks for the info everyone.

  14. Bill says:

Just been on phone to me 3may2013 sounds to good to be true so don’t think I’ll bother

  15. Sarah says:

Hi I purchased a 2 week holiday in June 2012 valid for 5 years they pretended to be from rci a company I use to have a timeshare with. They made it sound like they were rci and I was purchasing bonus weeks – did not see a problem with that as I had dealt with rci before who were a legit company. I became suspious after I gave my credit card details so rang the number straight back to say I had changed my mind – I checked with my credit card provider and they had not taken any money at that point. When I said I wanted to cancel I was passed to a series of people but stated firmly i wanted to cancel and it was within my rights – the office manager became very aggresive and told me to F#### off and put the phone down.

They have just rang me again to say my vouchers are no longer valid as off today as they were only valid for 12 months and I need to pay £199 package that will remove expiry date and give me 6 free flights. When i challenged her regarding the validity period since i only purchased in June 2012 so how can they be out of date when I was sold them with can use anytime. I was then put onto the office manager who told me expiry was today – and i needed to pay 199.00 to remove the expiry date and get 6 free flights. I stated what he was doing was illegal as at no time did they communicate to me either before during or after purchase that there was a time restriction on the vouchers the response from the office manager was silence and then the phone was put down on me! i have their paperwork which states – Your week(s) are now reserved within out system on a “to be arranged” basis, ready for you to use “whenever and wherever you wish”. No where does it state a renewal date, expiry date. Oh a username and login was supplied – did not work tried on number of occasions.
The Company needs to be brought to justice for taking money and not delivering the goods
Providing false and preying on vulnerable people

Does anyone know what can be done to stop them.
