Newsletter March 2013

Newsletter March 2013

Dear All,

Another month gone, Easter is over and now we are heading towards the summer.

Another month for Mindtimeshare in which we have broken several records. The main record being the visitors to our blog as the month closed with 48.290 visits.

48.290 times consumers entered our blog to double check on dubious companies that have cold called them or sold them dubious Holiday Club Memberships.

We hope that all our followers / readers pride themselves lucky by having found the blog as this is avoiding a lot of scams of happening.

Having said this, it is a fact that those consumers who have been contacted once on a cold call are very likely to receive so many other calls of the same kind. We know that dubious companies, resales or supposed claims companies are exchanging and reselling the client lists between them.

After so many cold calls and so many different pitches from the nice lady or gentleman on the other side of the line, a lot of consumers actually fall into the traps over and over again. Strange but true! We would say it is in human nature to really want to believe that not all people are bad who cold call, and as they are so good on the phones and the stories sound so believable…consumers tend to actually fall victim of a scam for a second, third or even fourth time!

The message we want to put out this month to all our followers and loyal visitors to the blog is to please do NOT let your guard down.

Any cold caller how believable they might sound, must be handled with extreme precaution and please always do your research. You better be safe than sorry!

If the company calling you is not on the blog or the cold caller list, just drop us a quick email and we will have a look for you. The more details you can give us the better and we handle each inquiry with great care. Each inquiry we receive is of great value, because the sooner we know about a new company cold calling, the sooner we can warn other consumers.

Did you realize that because you asked us about a company that cold called you, we were able to place a warning and numerous victims of this scam could be avoided?

Thank you all for helping us!

And as we are at it, I would just like to ask you for one more favor. Those who did pay the bogus companies and asked us for advice. If you did claim a refund and were successful in obtaining your money back, please let us know.

A lot of you do tell us, but we also know that that a lot of people received the money back after months and maybe forgot to tell us, and this is just the news we like to hear! So please if you did receive money back from a payment to a bogus resale, Holiday Club or whatever dubious company and haven’t told us yet, do drop us a line!

The 34 new companies that were detected this month thanks to alert consumers can be found as always on the monthly Cold Caller list:

Hi Alberto I wrote to you quite some time ago regarding UK Holiday Consultants and you very kindly helped me. I received this today. Is it another scam? I haven’t heard of these people before and there is no official address on this email.

Should I ignore it – please advise as soon as possible

    Many thanks.

    • Hi Don,
At least give it a try that’s all we can say.
Most of the people don’t receive anything, but every now and then the odd one tells us they did receive something, so why not you?
Never the amount though they promised you, but if it is something..
      Keep us updated please!
      Kind regards

My wife answered a call at teatime today from a Spanish company called HA Mediation Malaga Spain and asked if we had been scammed as they were trying to build cases on these scammers and they were a no win no fee company but they would take 10% on any settlement !!!

Keep up the good work Alberto!. I’m just back from staying in timeshare in the UK. Went to the update meeting and guess what – I got to hear about a new ‘opportunity’ where I buy more points and the carrot is that the points go into ‘partial ownership’ of real estate which I can ‘sell’ in a few years time with a 15 year lifespan. It’s a good carrot and an interesting ‘get out’. The first offer I got effectively I had to spend £12K (and I worked this out to be £2.80 a point). The second offer (time limited, rush rush) was £7K and around 73p a point. I don’t wish to spend money right now, but the concept is tempting. Anyone else seen this from Diamond Resorts? (or got a better deal).

  7. JOHN says:

have been try to get our money since last october from reclaim.gi they keep saying that there auditors are dealing whit our claim and will get in tough in the neer fature

  8. simongregory8 says:

What was she charging you for to sell the timeshare or relinquish it

  9. John says:

Have you come across Linda from Tenerife on a phone number 01244470131?
She started to call about 2 weeks ago and late on a Friday and said she would send an email, but she couldn’t send it herself she would get a colleague to send it on the following Monday. This never arrived but Linda rang again last week to check, and promised again to get someone else to send it, with Linda to follow up with yet another phone call. She tried again yesterday but I can see the number on our phone and chose not to pick it up!
Her charges are £299.00, which gives me the usual warning signs.
    Any info would be useful
