Have you received an outstanding fees demand from Windsor Group Solicitors?

Numerous Timeshare Owners have received by post a letter from Windsor Group Solicitors in Spain.

In the letter which contains the logos of the resort from the owner, WGS claims that the timeshare owner has outstanding fees and has been appointed by the resort to claim this money.

They even give a deadline for the payment in order to avoid “court proceedings” in the Royal Court of Justice in London.

The address from Windsor Group Solicitors – WGS is Paseo del Mediterraneo, Mojacar Playa 04638, Almeria, Spain.

Timeshare owners are urged to make this payment by bank transfer and obviously it is worrying when a letter mentions legal actions.

We have investigated this company and we can confirm that there is no such company registered in Spain under the name of Windsor Group Solicitors.

If you have received a letter or a call from Windsor Group Solicitors – WGS requesting a payment for outstanding fees; please do NOT pay.

We would like to hear from you if this is the case. You can email us to customercare@mindtimeshare.com or place a comment on this blog

A friend has received such a letter and I have been looking into it.
There is a genuine WGS law company in London but it has no office in Spain, as identified by Alberto, therefore no link to this scam letter which I suspect comes from a current/former Timeshare company employee with access to a membership list and details of all non fee payers. Similar to some of the apparent subsidiary scams operated by suspected current/former employees of Club Class for example. No honour amongst thieves? The Royal Courts of Justice are one of the highest courts in the UK and do not deal with such small matters as unpaid fees – which are not even a debt, they are fees which in these cases have not been paid due to a dispute over unsatisfactory service which is therefore a perfectly legal action and cannot be the subject of court proceedings in itself. Debt Collectors cannot operate either in cases which are in dispute.
As the Law Company has been identified in the letter as WGS I recommend that you send a copy to WGS Solicitors, 131 -133 Praed Street, Paddington, London W21RN and let them deal with the probable misrepresentation of themselves and impersonation of a lawyer which will also be of interest to The Law Society.
As further proof of a scam the letter also contains dates for court action, one of which is in 2012 (probably just incompetence). No Court gives speculative dates for proceedings.
