Have you been cold called by Sunset Sales in Valencia?

sunset

A new cold calling Timeshare Resale Company has been spotted by the name of Sunset Sales.

Sunset Sales has the usual pitch of their successful trade with Timeshare Ownerships and the queue of clients lined up to buy from them.

All the Timeshare owner needs to do for a successful resale of his timeshare is paying an upfront fee of £1500

Once again a Timeshare Resale Company seems to be unaware of the Timeshare Directive which has been approved 2 years ago where Upfront fees in Resale processes has been banned.

The contact details for Sun Set Sales are as follows:

Address: Apartado de Correos 70003, 46007 Valencia, Spain. (This is a postbox!)

Telephone 0844 450 0038 and emails: info@sun-set-sales.com or admin@sun-set-sales.com

The website www.sun-set-sales.com does not really reveal a lot more information. The domain was registered on the 2nd of April 2013.

The web has no clear company identification, registration or anything else that would be expected for a genuine resale company. Neither is there on display of the timeshare weeks / memberships they supposedly have on sale.

There is another suspicious data. The company’s name that appear at the credit card receipt linked to Sunset Sales is TSD-Spain.

If you have been approached by Sunset Sales from 08444500038 in Valencia, then please let us know.

You can email us at customercare@mindtimeshare.com or place a comment on this blog.

October 2013.- Note: This company has a new address: Apartado de Correos 33, Alhaurin El Grande – Malaga. (Also a Post Box)

Having made the same silly mistake as others last July and August I have tried to ring them on several times for an update re a supposed Ocean Sea buyout…in the past they have promptly returned my calls but this week…no reply

    • Diane says:

Hi Ann, I have been scammed by this company similar to you and ended up losing £2,500 as I had to pay off my credit card. They ring the house and when my husband answers (who is not named on the scheme) say they need to talk to me. My credit card company tesco say there is nothing they can do. Totally a waste

      • Steve says:

        Hi Diane,
I have just seen this post, I had the same trouble and also Tesco which I am now attempting to change their decision. Was yours a Tesco Bank Credit card, and did your payment go to TSD-Spain by any chance and they say there is no evidence the companies are the same? I am not saying this can be proven but I am certainly going to try
        Regards
        Steve

We were called today by Sunset sales offering to sell our Clubclass membership for us, we have had quite a few of these type of offers and fortunately never paid any money upfront so when they rang today my wife said we have heard it all before and we are not paying any money upfront, he replied we don’t take any upfront money our commision comes from the buyer and he would be in touch when they have found a buyer to organise the sale……….. I do not expect to hear from them again unless they may come back and say we have a buyer pay £XXXXX now to complete the sale. Never pay any upfront fees, if they are legit they will not ask for money upfront.

I’ve just been called by someone called John, I think, from Sunset Sales using a withheld number. When I refused to enter into discussion or confirm my name he got a bit stroppy. I asked him to remove my number from his list but he said why should he do me any favours! He then called another 4 times but didn’t speak. How childish! I’ve been caught before by similar companies so now won’t discuss my timeshare with any of them, I’ve accepted that I’m stuck with this situation.

  4. Pauline says:

I have been approached today by Pauline Raynor of Sunset Sales and have stupidly paid 895 euros for them to sell my timeshare. I have since been on this web site tonight and read all the comments. I have been onto my bank to try and stop my payment but have to wait until they take the money out of my card. They are so convincing with all the information they give you and it seems that it is really a good idea.

  5. Val says:

Thank goodness I could not sleep and started searching the internet for information on Sunset sales, I have had the same experience of many others . In spite of my rather biting remarks asking the several callers how they sleep at night , and asking if their mother’s are proud of their career, they continue to call. I await another tomorrow and will finally put the lid on this charade, thanks to the messages I have just read. Val

  6. Dale says:

Had a call from Sunset sales a few weeks ago…very convincing so much so that I agreed to go ahead with the ‘Transfer’ of my ClubClass Gold for £7200 and £1266 was debited from my Credit Card. On Wednesday 9/10/13 I received a call to say that the sale had fallen through however a company going by the name of Ocean Sea are interested in buying my Clubclass membership. However to enable this ‘transfer’ to go ahead I needed to pay another £1693. I was told I would receive £15,461 back, this was made up of the original admin/insurance charge of £1266 + original sale fee £7200 + further admin/insurance charge of £1693 + a further sale fee of £6995.
I have received an email from Sunset Sales with all contracts attached. I haven’t yet signed anything however they have debited the 2nd Admin/Insurance charge from my Credit Card.

Just been contacted by this company,I said I needed to think about it.The young man who
called me said he would ring back tomorrow,a few minutes later a woman rang from the same
company with the usual bumph about having a customer ready to purchase my timeshare
in Scotland, all I had to do was to give her my credit card details.I refused to do this and told her
the same as I told the young man,she wasn’t happy about it and then I logged on to this site
to see if I could find anything about them.I am so glad I did, because these people are so convincing with their approach and someone who doesn’t know about these companies may
    just fall for this.

  8. steve says:

  9. John says:

I have just had a call fromBen Collier of Sun-set-sales about my membership of Club Clas holidays & would I be prepared to sell.I was not aked for any cash up front but he thought he might get £6000 to £7000 for it and he will get back to me.

  10. Gerry says:

I was called yesterday by Sunset Sales re the potential sale of my Timeshare with all the usual details. When I queried the Admin fee, as I do with all these companies, the caller said our conversation was at an end . Pay no fees up front!

  11. George says:

George Glasgow. I was contacted by sunset who said they had a buyer for my Holiday Club memberdhip and I have paid them !.495 Euros which they said would be refunded when the sale was complete. They said the sale would be completed within 6 weeks and., if not I would be refunded.

  12. A.J says:

I have just been cold called this afternoon by a Sarah Taylor on behalf of Sun Set Sales. She said my Gold membership could be sold on for £7,800. This would take about 4-6 weeks for me to receive the cheque. Seeing as I had a printer scanner the cheque could be in my bank account within 4 weeks. Documents would be e-mailed to me for my signature plus a legal document for my permission for the sale of membership. She said they don’t charge a fee but the legal processing would cost 1495 Euros. Directly this figure was mentioned I new it was a con and told her so. She just said I will inform company that you no longer wish to sell. End of conversation.

  13. Margaret says:

I have just been cold called by a Jeremy Price, same address, same phone number (Sunset Sales). He said I must pay 1,495 Euros Liability Insurance which I would get back when the sale went through and I’d sent my documents. I haven’t paid. I’ve been tricked before. It was the same patter and I wrote everything down. They offered £15,000 for my Gold Class Concierge membership, had all my details from ITRA.

  14. andrew says:

Have been approached by sunset sales firstly by john chalmers then jean james will not be paying any upfront costs that’s for sure

  15. Sharon says:

We were called this evening and given the story as others have already reported. We will be declining their “kind offer” thanks to this site…

  16. Susan says:

I have just been called from Jeremy sunset sales saying he had a buyer for classicclub member ship for £15,000. He said he already got 25% off them they are from Russia and millionaires. He phone back in 2 hours haha. I won’t get conned again

  17. kath says:

just been called by sunset sales saying they are registered in the uk but based in malaga. willing to buy club class membership but no money upfront. waiting for a call back?

  18. Mike says:

I was called yesterday asking me if I wanted to sell a voyager holidays package, I said yes, they called back today saying they had secured the deal and in order to proceed needed my CC number to secure insurance of 1495 Euro in case I didn’t go through with the sale. They said if I paid that then I would receive the transfer document along with a cheque for the voyager package. As soon as they recieved my signed transfer document then they would place the 1495 euro back on my card. They obviously have some connection with the holiday companies as they have the original details, another scam just like the first one I guess…be careful.

    • Kevin says:

Just had the same experience, waiting for the call back. Beware, once they have the credit or debit card number you can probably whistle for any money and may well get cash debited

    • Chris says:

I’ve just had the same thing, like a twit I paid the 1495 Euros and was emailed contracts etc. 4 weeks later a call to say the sale feel through but if I registered with Ocean Sea for a further 2000 Euros the £12000 for my Voyager membership would now be worth £23,972. I’ve reported them to Mastercard!

      • Diane says:

I have fallen into this trap and paid out 1495 euros then a further 894 ocean sea as the sale had fallen through and now just taken a call as I should have got £16,000 last week that there is an audit and it could take 12 months to sort. They suggested they tried to get me a sale for the ocean sea now as I am a member??!! I am so stressed I don’t know where to turn

  19. Colin says:

I was cold called this morning by sunset sales , asking if we would like to sell our time share, to which we explained that we have no timeshare any more as we got our money back from gold class holidays who did not honour thier policy of contract but he said that we still owned the timeshare and he could sell it for us , we told him to go ahead ,but he did not ask for any money from us .
we are waiting to hear back from sunset sales.
