Have you been contacted by Business & Tax Strategies?

The company Business & Tax Strategies cold calls timeshare owners that have been defrauded by Timeshare resale companies.

Business & Tax Strategies say they are acting to reclaim the defrauded money, and as a matter of fact they have already claimed the money back of the timeshare owner they are contacting.

A cheque with the money is prepared for the Timeshare owner to cash in, but before he can do this he needs to buy 2 UKASH Pay point vouchers. This is to ensure the Timeshare owner is who he says he is….

As soon as he confirms the vouchers are purchased, a courier will come around with the cheque.

Business & Tax Strategies is based in Harrow, Middlesex.

Their telephone number is 0208 144 0031.

As a matter of fact the company is registered at the UK Companies House since 2010, although we have been unable to establish if the person calling is really somebody from this company.

In order to verify the company and the story about the claimed money, the agent from Business & Tax Strategies facilitates a telephone number 0121 364 0000 supposedly from the Pay point Customer Helpline. The person on this number indeed provides a “glowing” reference of Business & Tax Strategies and assures all is in order.

But when contacting Pay Point Customer Helpline through their website, they assure the number 01213640000 is not theirs and they have never heard from Business & Tax Strategies.

As mentioned in previous blogs where dubious companies have cold called and asked for UKASH vouchers, the trick is where they ask for only a part of the voucher registration number. It appears they would not be able to cash the voucher in without the missing numbers, but that is not true. The missing numbers relate to the country where the voucher is purchased and knowing it was in the UK…they actually have the full numbering code.

Needless to say that the vouchers are indeed cashed in straight away and the courier with the cheque never arrives!
