A cold caller and apparently targeting only Voyager Travel Members has been spotted by the name of Viajes con Destino.
Viajes con Destino not only cold calls English consumers but also those living in the Scandinavian countries.
After the initial phone call where Viajes con Destino explains how successful they are in selling Timeshare properties and Voyager Travel Memberships, they quickly move on to a second call where a buyer has been found.
Not only that, the buyer has even transferred the money over already. Viajes con Destino sends the Membership owner a copy of a bank statement where it clearly reflects this transfer.
In order to process the sale a Notary needs to arrange the paperwork, and the owner of the membership is requested a deposit of around 3000€ to cover the costs of the notary. This deposit is also a “security” for Viajes con Destino in case the owner withdraws on the deal.
This security deposit should be paid by bank transfer.
Obviously Viajes con Destino is not aware of the current legislation where it strictly forbids the deposits for any Timeshare or Holiday Club membership resale.
It didn’t need to take a lot of research to come to the conclusion that Viajes con Destino is a complete fake set up.
The contact details Viajes con Destino provides are the following:
Address: Camino de Suarez 8, 29010 Malaga, Spain.
Telephone: +34 951 560 025 and Fax +34 951 242 833
This company also mentions a website on their paperwork www.viajescondestino.com which has nothing to do with timeshare resales or anything and is purely a travel blog. Most probably the “fake” Timeshare reseller is abusing the brand name of Viajes con Destino in order to appear genuine.
