Have you been cold called by Credit Consumer Claims?

A new cold calling claims company has been brought to our attention, by the name of Credit Consumer Claims.

Although the agent calling from Credit Consumer Claims confirms they are based in South London and the phone number they use is 0203 608 9844 it seems that the call is identified as an International Call.

The agent also seems to know that the consumer is owner of a Timeshare and offers to do a claim against the company on their behalf.

We have done some research on Credit Consumer Claims and found the following information:

The website www.creditconsumerclaims.com was registered on the 9th of January 2014

The website does not provide any further company details such as Companies Registration or even an address for the company. We have not found this company registered at the UK Companies House under this name.

All they provide is a contact form, email address info@creditconsumerclaims.com and the telephone number 02036089844

Although they insist on the website they work on a No Win No Fee basis, we don’t think that giving out your personal details and paperwork from your purchase etc. to a company that has no proper identification, is really recommendable.

If you have been contacted by Credit Consumer Claims then we would like to hear from you.

I was cold called by Consumer Claims and was sent paperwork to sign & send back they told me that they had information on 2 accounts that I had previously discussed with them.I am sure that I have never discussed my bank details on the telephone with anybody,so this was a lie.I was told to sign it & post it back to them & they would get my PPI back for with a no win no fee if unsucessful or with a part of my win going to them.I haven’t signed the form & now I have no intention of doing so.

  2. Sharon says:

My mum keeps getting calls saying she has been awarded PPI and they say they are delivering it by cash and she has to give them an I card with 10 percent on it Is this genuine? ?

    • gary says:

Just received a similar call. Contacted the company they said they represented and was told they have no knowledge of me.

  3. John says:

I got consumer claims to handle my claim against Lloyds and after having to deal with Lloyds myself because C.c didn’t have any information I was sent a cheque for £1600 from Lloyds. I then received an invoice from consumer claims for £640, when I questioned the amount I was told I was actually awarded £1974 but £374 was taken off for tax. I paid them £400 and have received another bill from them for a futher £571 or legal action will be taken against me.

  4. Steve says:

Just received a letter stating I am an old barclaycard customer and they need me to authorise them to act — I threw the letter away as can’t ever remember having a barclaycard!!!!

  5. Joe says:

  6. Dave says:

I was cold called by these people and sent forms through today. i noticed that the address they sent mail from was different to where it is returned and I keep getting International calls from them. i will add them to my blocked list.

  7. Mrs J says:

I was contacted by this company in February 2013, and agreed to use their services to reclaim PPI on credit cards because they said they would do all the paperwork and chasing up, and I was not too well at the time. After 4 months I had heard nothing so I telephoned a Guernsey number and was told someone would ‘phone me back within 3 days. Someone did ‘phone and said that Barclays was disputing my claim. After about another 2 months I ‘phoned again – same result, another couple of months – ditto, then another few months – ditto. But they sent me another letter of authorisation to sign; I did not sign it. A year after I agreed to their services I telephoned and told them I was very unhappy with their ‘service’, I did not believe their excuses and I would be contacting Barclays direct. This I did and got an immediate response from Barclays, who also told me that the first approach that they had had from Consumer claims was 6 days after I contacted Barclays myself! An interesting piece of information from Barclays was that the letters of authorisation are only valid for 6 months. Consumer Claims keep ‘phoning me, trying to get me to sign a further authorisation; knowing their number I do not pick up.

  8. Alison says:

I have been contacted by a company called Consumer Claims who have sent me a form to be filled in with my details with a covering letter. As I have not approached this company am very concerned as they require personal details about my bank regarding ppi.

    thank you

    • Heather says:

      Hi Ray,
My husband and I are in the exact position you are in, only I did not ask what the translation fee would be, only that we would not be paying it!.
When I suggested they should pay the fee upfront and also that I could translate as I speak Spanish, Elizabeth Cunningham said it was a bad line and would call back.
More than 30 minutes has passed, and I am still waiting.
Is anyone for real anymore? what a horrible world we now live in!

  11. marrion says:

Hello Alberto Latest miscreant has been added to the ever growing list. London phone number begin with 0207 for the West End and really the ‘inner circle’ addresses ( including presumably H.M.) 0208 is Outer London.

  12. Martin says:

Do you think there might be a connection with a dubious outfit called Consumer Claims Direct, who I came across a couple of years ago?

  13. Hamish says:

As with all cold callers they should be asked full identifying details about them and their operation, what information they have about you and where they got it from. If they cannot provide this then they unlawfully possess your personal information and they are lying. When I have tried to checked information provided it has been proven to be more lies – all corroborated by Alberto’s research.
I have been told several further lies as these callers attempt to establish their credibility such as “they have my details from a survey I completed” – a lie; They were “provided my details by the club itself”, possibly true in a way especially if they used to work for the club and have stolen the details, but essentially another lie.
