Resort Exchange Consultants, the Irish Timeshare re sellers.

REC

Through investigations we have found a website which was registered in January 2014 and for a company by the name of Resort Exchange Consultants – REC.

The website is http://www.resortexchange.net/

On the web there is a mention of a contact phone number 0845 004 2649, email: info@resortexchange.net and the actual office address 146a Fitzwilliam Square W, Dublin 2, Co. Dublin, Ireland

What isn’t clear on this webpage is if this company is actually registered as there is no mention about this.

They claim to be calling consumers because their details are passed on to them by associated companies. It would be interesting to known which companies are those and if the consumer really has spoken to them and given his consent to pass his personal details onto a third party.

On the web it is also mentioned that they are “The UK & Ireland\’s Largest Resale Marketplace, fast, efficient and secure” in spite of no properties at all displayed on the website www.resortexchange.net

With the above information, we just want to advice consumers that if they decide to do business with this company, to make sure they are a genuine registered company and that no upfront fees are taken.

If you had any dealings with Resort Exchange Consultants from 08450042649 in Ireland, we would like to hear your feedback.

    Hi there,
I have had dealings with REC at the website and of the address you state.
A mr paul durose contacted me and told me that associated partners had furnished my details of myself and my timeshare and that i was interested in selling.
He said it wouldnt cost me anything. So i registered, two days later he rang to say they had interest from a new york buyer and hed offered £8,355 , he then rang the next day to say £2.5 had been deposited in a escrow account by buyer and REC were checking him out financially, the next day he rang to say hed checked out and the sale and contract were being drawn up. He then ,dramatically, said could he book a call with me to explain the legal procedures and the contract ,next day at 5.30 he rang and talked me through what would happen next, and that it would take between 6-8 weeks to complete at this time it did sound like he was reading off a script.
At this point he started to explain about security and how this had to be a safe and secure deal for both parties, and that the buyer had deposited £2.5 k in escrow ss a deposit and that i now was expected to deposit 1.5k in an escrow account , to ensure i sent the deeds in to REC, once the balence had been paid into my account in full.
After telling me that it would cost me nothing right at the end of almost a week he wanted me to use my credit card, visa or mastercard, to lodge a deposit ,which would be returned, on there reciept of my deeds.I asked him if he minded me contacting visa to check out if this would be ok and what escrow account would be taking the money and id like to check them out with visas security dept as visa would be my back up to giving me my money back as he kept telling me, he couldnt or wouldnt provide this or any kind of reciept for my giving him my visa number. I even offered to fly to ireland and bring the deeds with me in exchange for money. He said hed get there legal deot to ring me and explain. Im not holding my breath !!!
The scam on this is on visa or mastercard as they must have or use an account of some sort, but you are supposed to use your card responsibly and it can take a long time to get your money back.
The address in Dublin i would’nt mind betting its a dead letter box. Shall be send a copy if this to visa and mcard
    Regards p c
