The Leisure Alliance Claims Department, the latest set up from Club Class

Club Class Group of Companies, who since the liquidation of the 7 companies of this group in October 2012 prefers to call themselves Leisure Alliance, has come up with a “new idea”.

Believe it or not, but they have brought to live a “Claims Department”. The Leisure Alliance Claims Department offers to claim a refund under the Consumer Act to those Club Class Members who apparently were mis-sold their Club Class memberships by former distributors.

Club Class members are approached by this Leisure Alliance Claims department and explained the following.

“..As you should be aware in July 2012; the management of the Club Class Holiday and Lifestyle Club became the sole responsibility of Leisure Alliance Plc.  The reason for this communication is that we are currently reviewing the mis-selling of Club Class memberships by former distributors. Having reviewed your file and looked at your contract, it would appear that you are eligible to claim…”

It is extremely surprising to see that in no way they accepted the fact people were mis-sold when they were asking for the outstanding fees, and Club Class Members were told that Leisure Alliance had nothing to do with these marketers or how they sold and the members simply had to pay the fees or would be chased by debt collectors and bailiffs.

We can only think that the collection of the fees has not been as successful as they thought as most of the members could proof these were not due…some clever person from Club Class has now come up with the idea of making money out of those mis-sold. This approximately will be a 99% of their member’s base!

Leisure Alliance Claims department of course will charge for this “service”. And they suggest different options for the members to pay:

Option 1: An Assessment Fee, payable upon your decision to proceed with your claim, of £500 which is non-deductible. Your share of the final settlement will equate to 70%.

Option 2: An Assessment Fee, payable upon your decision to proceed with your claim, of £250 which is non-deductible. Your share of the final settlement will equate to 60%.

Option 3: An Assessment Fee, payable upon your decision to proceed with your claim, of £250 which is deductible from the Success Fee upon completion. Your share of the final settlement will equate to 50%.

In the paperwork they attach, it is made clear though that if the claim is not successful there won’t be a refund of the upfront payment.

Worse though is the fact that they also ask the member to sign a document where they give authorization to the bank, to refund the money into the LEISURE ALLIANCE ACCOUNT AT SOCHALLS and not the account of the member himself.

So if the refund claim is successful, the ones receiving the money from the bank will be Leisure Alliance and then the member will have to see if they send him his part…

Please note that if you are still on time to do a claim under the Consumer Act because you bought less than 6 years ago and you paid by credit card, you can do this claim without any cost yourself and we can help you with clear guidelines on how to do this.

There is no need to pay more money to Club Class or Leisure Alliance for a refund claim of the money you paid to them in the first place and was mis-sold by them in the first place!

    The one name that keeps coping up in connection with these cr**** is the company” Sochalls “, their accountants who are based in London. Surely there must be comeback against this company who continue to be closely associated with the different reincarnations of Club Class,as their accountants and “bankers”?

    We too had a telephone call from Leisure Alliance Claims offering to work for us to claim our money back. After doing some research on the internet we found they were affiliated to Club Class who we had joined in 2006, the very Company who we felt had ‘stolen’ our money! However something good came out of the call as we then thought if they were offering to do this then it must be possible. Again we searched the internet and came across this website, We emailed Alberto and he was amazing giving step by step advice on how to claim the money ourselves.
    We started the process in July 2014 and did everything that Alberto advised us to do. We paid the initial deposit with Lloyds TSB credit card and the remainder by bankers Draft, so we were claiming from the credit card company. After much correspondence, and many requests from the CC company for the same documents that had already been sent, we finally received into our bank on 20th January £3500, the amount we had paid, plus £25 bankers draft refund and the CC company worked out interest so they also paid us a further £1495 for interest earned. We at last had all our money back plus interest!
    It took 6 months from start to finish but it was well worth it. Although it was a lengthy process, it was very easy in the end, we were always very polite to the CC company and did not rush them. It did not take a lot of our time just a lot of patience, but we figured that if anything came of it we could wait.
    Further to other posts, last October we received a letter from Leisure Alliance saying we were in arrears, I wrote back immediately and sent recorded delivery stating that we were in the process of claiming and listed all the governing bodies we had submitted our claim to. So far we have not heard anything more.
    So a very big thank you to all at Mindtimeshare, we could not have done it without you.

    I have been reading the messages above and today we have received a letter from Leisure Alliance telling us we are in arrears of £570 for annual subscriptions and admin charges. It states we are in breach of contract and our account is SERIOUSLY OVERDUE. However they are willing to offer us a one off contract release charge of only £350. We have 14 days to accept this or the alternative is to commence further action to recover the outstanding debt. This letter is from Maxwell Hamilton Club Class membership renewals department manager.
    Have you any advice please? Should we pay them the £350 to get rid of them?

      We’ve just received similar nonsense in letter form today after we basically told them to get lost when they phoned the day before. They would have to be terribly brave or stupid to pursue things further.
      It’s more annoying than worrying to be honest, when will these scammers leave folk alone?

        I am in the same situation just got my letter this week.
        I have no intention of paying them, I ignore all letters and when they ring I leave them in no doubt what I think of them,

      Hi,
      I was just wondering if you responded to this letter you had as I have also had one this week, mine has gone on for quite a few years, I have had a full refund of £6k from my credit card company for what I call a “gross misrepresentation of a product” on an upgrade from sapphire to platinum membership.
      When I get phone calls from them I tell them to take any payment out of the money they owe me and to send me the change.
      How much longer can this go on for, if this is there means of income and no one pays surely not much longer but I won’t be holding my breath.

    I too had a phone call from these people. Told them l didn’t trust them when l was duped into buying the package despite telling them within 24 hours we were unable to afford it and had to cancel. We were ignored. Told them we didn’t trust them then and still don’t. what were they doing asking for money upfront to fight our case?! when they already had our cash from the original swindle. Have nothing to do with them!!

      Further to our our blog of May 26th 2014 We too have been in receipt of a serious letter from Leisure Alliance (today 5/2/15) regarding seriously overdue subs? I have replied that we have been in receipt of monies under Section 75 which is obviously are genuine or our bank would not have entertained payment to us!? To state that We have been financially inconvenienced by Club Class, Leisure Alliance or who ever they call themselves would be an understatement I look forward to the day when such pond life are no longer allowed access to decent folk.
      My wife and I have been so traumatized that neither of us ever want to visit Spain again.

      Yes I have too They had all the paperwork as well which was sent to us to show us . It will be a s*** As far as Club class Leisure Alliance are concerned they can jump into the nearest lake.I have been sca**** far too many times and I am not going to be again.

    I have received a letter from Phillip Hill, Club Class Membership Renewals Department Manager , Leisure Alliance PlC stating that My husband and I owe an Annual Subscription arrears of £330 plus Additional Charges of £165. As I have written to you before we took out a (timeshare?) (which Elite Travel stated was not a timeshare and we would retrieve our money back in full £6,000) if we wished at the end of 5 years. In this agreement which we both signed there is a paragraph stating that we would automatically become a member of Leisure Alliance but this could be cancelled at any time (we received one brochure from them in 2005. The annual charge was to be £70 per annum. We wrote to Club Class, Leisure Alliance stating that we wished to cancel our subscription to Leisure Alliance as it was stated in the Agreement from Elite Travel that we could do so at any time. However, we are still being targeted and we are going to sent all this correspondence to the Trading Standards authority. Just thought I would let you know in order to warn other people. The telephone numbers they are quoting to speak to them are 8702247994 and 0034952922555 email address customerservices@clubclass.net. If they try to claim the money they will be unlucky as we are in dire straits at the moment and can’t meet the bills we have to pay. Be warned don’t pay any money to them at all.

    We were refused any cancellation of our ‘contract’ the next day following the hard sell of nearly 4 hours at Club Class offices in Fuengirola the again the following day before leaving for the UK.back in 2012 and on our arrival in UK. We have paid no annual fees and want nothing to do with ‘Time share’ ever again. Club Class……Sorry Leisure alliance are now pushing us for back membership subs and a phone call the other day asking if we were interested in arranging for them to help us with section 75 claims?? I advised the lady that after being swindled out of some thousands of pounds She didn’t have a hope in hell of me ever trusting them enough to pay MORE MONEY to get a 70% return. Another Cash up front scheme!. Why can’t the Spanish Authorities close down these Bu..ers! Once and for all??? It also occurs to me that as the operators we met in Fuengirola Were Ex Pats with ?UK addresses Cant they be prosecuted under UK/EU law?

      My Husband and I went in Feb 2012 to Fuengirola by Premiere Travel . It was all tied up to Club class, although I did not know it then.W e were told to get a taxi as the man who was meant to collect us was held up and we would be refunded.. We were met by the man a couple of days later who had emailed me before we left England and who had been held up when we arrived met him in the hotel and taken to a office where we were told Tesco had taken up with Club class We were informed that if we paid some more money be upgraded/ We told them we could not afford it and though they tried failed with us. We treated it as another honeymoon as it was our 20th wedding anniversary laterr that year. I also made sure I was refunded

    Also still being pestered by European Rotary today 3 45pm by a man in the name of Miles.  They never give up.

    When will it ever END. Seams that these CON Men will never give up always under a new disguise. They just keep popping up. I am glad I am out of it and Trading Standards got our money back from our credit cards. I have just received an email from them which I did not open just deleted it.

    yes i recieved email from this company today BUT most certainly will not be using their claim service as i successfully made my own claim with the credit card company, with the help of mindtimeshare for which i was very grateful

      Hi daphne it’s mary again sorry to bother you again. Still no luck on getting a refund from Barclaycard after three letters Can you give any advice on how to state my next letter I shall try one more time applied advice given to me by mindtimeshare but it’s still a big no

        I have been having a lot of trouble with Leisure Alliance demanding money from us for annual payments for club class who have gone into Liquidation and we have no dealings with them. Trading Standards got our money refunded from club class and have told us not to pay them a penny although we are threatened with a court case and phone calls. We are sitting tight and taking their advice. Good Luck,

        Good morning,
        I am just reading some of the posts on club class, I was also with Barclaycard and got my initial deposit back within about 5 days of contacting them the rest of the money we paid to a bank in Cyprus through our nat west account we presumed that was well and truly gone and made no attempt to see if we could get this back – until on the mind timeshare site a piece that said if the deposit had been paid with a credit card the remaining payments was also covered by the section 75 act, so 4 years later i wrote to Barclaycard asking them to look at my original claim, which they did over 10 months, all contact of phone calls and letters from me!! The out come was “NO” as I had nothing to loose I thought last thing I am having to do with this – I would contact the Ombudsman, this took 4 months and the outcome was Barclaycard would have to pay up plus 8% interest, so after 5.5 years I am one up on club class.
