Did you receive a call from Phoeby Vazquez the Head of Notary in Malaga?

For over weeks now we have been receiving inquiries from consumers who have been called by a lady called Phoeby Vazquez and who claims to be in charge of a Notary office in Malaga.

The consumers who receive these calls are all Timeshare owners who have been duped by bogus resale companies in the past.

Some of them are also contacted by other “agents” from these so called notaries who are all claiming to be working for the government.

Phoeby Vazquez is very insisting though and she manages to contact people over 6 times a day. She claims she was ringing on behalf of the Head of Notaria, a government body and tells the consumers to check them out on the web.  Then she also explains that as a government department they do not have a web site!

The story from this Head of Notary is that there have been court cases against the companies that have defrauded the timeshare owners and money has been awarded by the government to pay out to all victims.

Phoeby is in charge to make sure the money reaches the victims. Large amounts are mentioned and Timeshare owners can expect compensation in the range of €20.000! In order to pay out such money the consumer needs to pay 10% in charges i.e. £2000.00 for notary and translation fees.

The contact details Phoeby Vazquez is using are email addresses headofnotary@gmx.com / headofthenotaria@gmx.com and a Spanish Mobile number: 0034 602 585 335

When asked where she is based she advised a consumer to search on Google for Hacienda in Malaga, which is literally “Tax Office in Malaga”..

The fees they request are to be transferred into a bank account of another so called notary, Ms. Maureen Freda Mallister. So no company account, not a governmental account, just a private account of somebody who pretends to be a notary.

We cannot add more than to say this is a fraud and everybody who receives such call as described above should be extremely cautious.

There are NO Head of Notary or any notary offices in Spain calling consumers for pay outs of money awarded to victims of scams.

If you have received a call from Phoeby Vazquez with mobile 602585335 or any other person claiming to be working for the Spanish Government, then please let us know.

The email was sent from an account: James Johnson apparantly nothing to do with any government agency.

Hi my mum and dad have already been scammed out of money a couple of years ago. They have now been contacted by a Katrina Sansez of Notaria-Be-Malaga who is insistent that she can get their money back and compensation! She is contacting repeatedly and uses the number 0034602594603. I’m assuming this is yet another scam?

I was originally contacted by Lewis Rawlings 0034602407276 of Otium Vacations about the sale of my timeshare. They sent me there terms & conditions & a sales agreement which I signed & returned to them on 19/06/2014.On the 24/06/2014 I was contacted by Dina Cortez 0034611237646 who said she worked for the Notaria & that Otium Vacations had gone into administration & that I needed an NIE number to release the money they had for me. I have received a email from Robert Jones with the details of Dawn Whitehead bank details and need to pay 895GBP for the Notaria fee, once paid I have to contact the completions manager on 0034602594603. I have now been contacted by Mark Saunders who is supposed to be head of administration. How many more people are working this scam, all I can say is take note of the names & numbers & don’t touch them with a 10 foot barge pole.

  3. Monica says:

Not Phoebe by Daneila Vasquez, she has contacted my 86 year old mother over 4 times over the last month – and wants £599 to be paid to: Dawn Whitehead – needless to say we are not paying her!

  4. k. says:

    Not Phoebe but Penelope Wright.

  5. Angela says:

I have got to the point of thinking that people already cheated by these scams should be totally aware and never be caught out again. There is a saying “A fool and his money are soon parted”
