In the past we had a couple of cold calling companies who all seemed to belong to a group of companies called The Solutions Group. After what appeared to be a quiet time without any cold calls, we are now receiving inquiries about a new cold caller by the name of Simple Solutions.
Telephone number for Simple Solutions is 0203 137 3970 and the email address used is info@section75.eu
Research has shown us though that it looks like yet again another company to add up to the “Solutions Group” and we are afraid that this will be with the same disappointing results on the services they offer.
The pitch from Simple Solutions is quiet questionable as they are calling people who were unable to claim in the past and they are trying to convince them that Spanish laws have changed and cases are re-opened. This is not true and nothing has changed regarding the UK Regulations on the Consumer Act either.
The breakdown Simple Solutions sends to the consumer about what they can claim contains amounts of money of “reclaim certificates” and value of membership, etc. Obviously this gives the consumer a very high amount of possible money to claim, and over this amount there is a percentage calculated for fees.
The consumer is then requested an upfront fee to initiate the claim. This fee can be paid by cheque or bank transfer and in the name of Paula Ltd. When the supposed claim is successful the consumer will be required to pay another 10% commission over the awarded money.
In the documentation Simple Solutions sends of to the consumer they mention that their Spanish company’s house registration is B76558519. This number is though for a company called XYZ Solutions SL which was mentioned in the blog we posted about Tenerife Fast Track Services.
But there is another mention as well to a company registered in the UK by the name of Paula Ltd.
Between the connected companies we found other names such as; P&M Solutions Ltd, ConsumerCreditAct74.com, Consumeract75.co.uk and Consumer Advisory Solutions
What all these companies have in common, including Simple Solutions, is that they cold call consumers, tell them they have guaranteed a claim under the consumer act (which is not always true) and they require an upfront fee from the consumer to start processing their claim.
Not only would we recommend caution with these companies because of the cold call, but asking a fee upfront to do a Consumer Act claim on behalf of the consumer is not really the way to go.
Consumer act claims can easily be done by the consumer himself, and in case they cannot do it or simply do not want to do this, then there are numerous registered claims companies who will happily do the job and charge their fee when the refund has been received.

2 years late, judging by the dates here, but have received 3 calls from ‘simple solutions’ in the past week. The number they’re calling me from is 01618149338
I just got a call from them on 0161 839 2965. I wonder if it’s the same company or a new one with the same name? I asked for their website, it’s simplesolutionsclaims.co.uk
Hi, remember me again? I am writing to let you know that Silverpoint Vacations in Tenerife who are the management Commitee for my time-share at Palm Beach Club in Playa de las Americas have changed to the points system and as I am alone and over 75 years old they have agreed to take-back my two weeks which I own in July for free and I have just received written confirmation today that the deal is concluded. However my friend who owns a week in Scotland in December managed by Macdonald Hotels & Resorts have also changed to the points system and as he is alone and also over 75 years old they have offered to take-back his week if he pays them this years maintenance fees plus a further four years fees which amounts to just under £3,000.
Can anyone advise us if this is legal in Tenerife & Scotland?
Hi Anne, go to the timeshare consumers association. They are doing roadshows and giving free advise and help to MacDonald clients. You can go to Tatoc who govern them however, they more look after the resort rather than the client. Good luck
