SPS Properties & Consultants, the cold caller for Claims and Relinquishments

SPS

SPS Properties & Consultants from Nottingham seem to be offering all kind of help for Timeshare consumers.

They cold call the timeshare owner, although they assure the consumer that they received the contact information from the “European Timeshare Complaints Commission”… whoever they are.

Depending on the situation of the timeshare owner, he is offered a Home Consultation with one of the agents of SPS Properties & Consultants. Club Class Members for example are offered a refund claim service and others are offered a service to Relinquish / Dispose of their Timeshare.

The agent from SPS Properties assures that they will only ever offer a service if they are 100% confident in achieving the outcome that the consumer is looking for. The meeting is completely free of charge, although should SPS Properties be able to offer the consumer a service then an upfront payment will become due to retain our services.

We seem to be in similar situation as other people posting on this blog. We have been conned out of thousands by SPS Claims Consultants. We have now taken further action and we are now logging all conversations that we have with Stephen Thomas who has continually lied to us. We would advise anyone who are in the same situation as us to take the matter further so justice can be done and to stay clear from SPS Claims Consultants.

  2. Keith says:

Unfortunately, I found these articles too late to help my mother and father in law who have been swindled out of thousands of pounds. Had I known the company they were dealing with I would have done my research and told them not to get involved.

They had a “free” home consultation last year and were told that they would be allocated a Spanish lawyer and get the relevant paperwork within 28 days by the salesman that came to their home. Over 9 months later they have had NOTHING AT ALL from SPS apart from excuses from a person in their office called Stephen Thomas as to why nothing has happened.

They have asked to speak to someone senior to make a complaint, but this was not possible for some reason. It appears that Stephen Thomas is the main person behind all of this, as he appears to be the only one available to speak to, and he keeps trying to pacify my in-laws that everything is fine! How can it be fine if they have spent so much money and have NOTHING to show for it!!

I took the contract they signed to Citizens Advice and explained their situation and was advised that SPS appear to be in severe breach of their own Terms & Conditions that were signed by my in-laws during the initial home visit by the salesman, so by law they would be well within their rights to claim their money back. Citizens Advice have told us to report this to the relevant authorities for investigation. We have done this and the relevant authorities also said they were already aware of SPS Claims Consultants and also the name “Stephen Thomas”, due to other similar cases being investigated regarding SPS taking elderly people’s money and not doing what they said they would. I would advise anyone to stay well away from this company. If we see any resolution with this, I will update this blog accordingly.

    WARNING!!!!!!!
We would like to warn anybody who is thinking of getting involved with SPS Claims Consultants not to do it!!!. We were considering calling them as one of our friends had got involved them last year. We are looking to dispose of our timeshare and possibly sue for compensation as we were not happy with rising costs and availability. We decided we would see how our friend got on with SPS Claims Consultants. Unfortunately for our friend, they fear that they have been sc***** out of over £10,000. They signed up over 7 months ago and she hasn’t received any legal paperwork or service from this company even though in their terms it says they will get legal paperwork within 28 days. She has contacted this company on numerous occasions regarding this matter and keeps getting excuse after excuse the same very rude person. All sounds very fishy!!! We will definitely will not be dealing with SPS Claims Consultants and are trying to encourage our friend to take this matter further.

  4. Tony says:

I have had personal dealings with SPS I found them to be full of false promises and not true to their word. I would advise anybody to stay as far away from this company as possible……..

  5. David says:

I would be very wary of SPS as a company! We got bombarded with cold calls from them for weeks regarding compensation for our timeshare weeks, so we decided to look them up on the internet.

They sounded very convincing on the phone, but when we looked into the company further we saw that they have been known as and directly linked to 2 other SPS companies in the past few years that have both been struck off!! The current version of SPS has been around since 2016.

Why were their other companies struck off???? I asked this question on the next call we had with them and they didn’t provide a very solid answer!

I also asked if I could come and speak with them directly at their offices in Nottingham as I only live in Derby, but they said they don’t do office appointments, only home visits…which I thought was a bit strange!

I decided I would go and see them at their Nottingham office address and was told that no one was there that could see me. I find this very odd!! Surely someone could come and see me and take my name and get someone to call me????

HAS ANYBODY EVER SEEN THEM AT THEIR OFFICE OR COULD THIS BE ANOTHER S*** COMPANY!!

  6. Frank says:

We were recommended this company by friends 2 days ago, and was then contacted by a representative called Stephen yesterday who did give all the assurances that you stated.
We agreed to the consultation but thanks to further investigation we have cancelled that appointment and awaiting a response from them.

  7. Anthony says:

One of our DRI Members group has been cold-called by a ‘company’ giving the name SPS Timeshare Products, offering the usual stuff about timeshare mis-selling. Their telephone number is 01158 240566. This sounds very similar to SPS Properties and SPS Consultants Ltd who use the telephone number 01158 240010.

  8. Sara says:

i was contacted today, again concerned on how they get personal information. I of course hung up on them in the end .

  9. Ruth says:

I would also like to know from where they got my personal information? When asked they also became extremely evasive and I put the telephone down? Seems to me that SOMEBODY, SOMEWHERE in breach of Data Protection is “selling” our personal information to these Scammers/Ambulance Chasers – nobody in business is doing it for Charity – they expect a very large fee/reward in exchange… Beware of Cold Callers….

  10. valerie says:

I was cold called…how do they find you???

  11. Steve says:

Copy of my letter to them today.
    Dear Sirs,

For the attention of the directors
Mr Carl Peter Berry, Mr Robert Charles Saunders.

I have been contacted by your (http://www.spspropertiesltd.co.uk) employee Mr Keith Simpson by telephone today.
When we spoke, he immediately “realised” I was a freehold CLCW property owner and that the service he was about to offer, relating to timeshare, was perhaps not of interest.
My concern is one of data protection.

How did SPS get my number? Who provided that number and the salient fact that I was an owner rather than a timeshare holder?
I asked him to provide the contact details of the company who provided him with my details. He had said this was the European Timeshare Complaints Commission who according to him are required by law to hold the contact details of timeshare holders.
I can find no online record of this company.
When I asked for their contact details Keith became evasive and said he did not have them as he was acting on their information provided through his “bosses” which is presumably you guys.
He did say he would find out and call me back with the contact details.
I would be interested to know your comments regarding this breach of my privacy, by your company, under data protection legislation.
I insist on knowing how you came by my personal information, failure to provide me with this information will result in further action.
    Yours faithfully
    Steve XXXXXX

  12. Jon says:

Can anyone tell me if this company is any good At what they do?

  13. chris says:

These people are a nuisance! They spoke to my son, on speaker phone, I was listening, he said I was not there. I called them back and they tried to suggest my son asked them to call back. A lie. He did not. They tried to suggest my mother asked them to phone me. A lie. She did not. When I told them I was listening in to the call with my son, they ended the call.

  14. Ade says:

Someone called me to let go my west gate timeshare, and I’ve made appointment for next week Monday, initially monster are dealing with the selling but they told me they won’t do it but just wasting my time. I’m I doing the right thing .

  15. Gareth says:

My parents have been visited by a respresentative of SPS this evening and I spoke to him over the telephone. He informed me that they have been in business for 8 years?g
