Cold Caller alert for bogus resale Agencia Atlas in Madrid

A cold caller using the name of Agencia Atlas in Madrid is actively approaching Timeshare owners for a supposed resale of their Membership.

At the moment they seem to be targeting mainly Russian owners.

Agencia Atlas explains to the timeshare owner that they have a foreign client waiting, who is actually willing to pay a really good price for the timeshare. A price above the current market.

In order to get the sale processed they request a deposit from the keen buyer but also a security fee from the Timeshare owner so he cannot pull out of the sale.

This security payment is around €2750. Please be aware that although they don’t call it an upfront payment and they assure you will get this back as soon as the sale is finalized….it is an upfront payment which clearly is forbidden as per the European Timeshare Directive.

On the paperwork they mention a website www.atlasviajes.com which upon checking does not seem to have any relation to a Timeshare resale, or an office in Madrid as this company is a travel agent in Venezuela!
