Although December is a festive month and many companies close over the holiday period, the cold callers still seem to have been very active. We have counted a total of 69 companies actively cold calling this month and from these 69 companies there were 9 new ones.

From experience we know though that in January it will all start over again, and a lot of companies will be cold calling out of the blue, offering their dubious services related to your timeshare. So please be aware and do not provide any personal details to cold calling companies and certainly not any payment details.
If a company calls you out of the blue and mention your home resort or exchange company as if they are connected to them, always double check with your resort or the exchange company. Don’t take anything for granted for as much as they sound credible and even “professional”.
You better be safe than sorry, so always double check on the company, drop us a quick email and we will give you all the information and advice we have.
Thanks as always to all those who alert us of the cold calls they receive, provide us with the information and in this way help to avoid others falling into the traps of these dubious companies.

i WAS COLD CALLED BY A JUDITH DRINKWATER OF GOLDSWORTH CASTLE & DEAN OF BREACH ROAD, WEST THURROCK, ESSEX RM 20 3NR. SHE SAID I HAD BEEN AWARDED £19455 AGAINST A FIRM LIFETIME OWNERSHIP EXCHANGE, WHO WERE IN LIQUIDATION. I WAS TOLD SOMEONE WOULD RING ME THE NEXT DAY. NOBODY EVER DID. WHEN I CHECKED FOR THEIR TELEPHONE NUMBER, I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO FIRM AT THE ADDRESS I WAS GIVEN. I WAS NEVER ASKED FOR ANY MONEY. I ASSUMED THE MAN WHO WAS SUPPOSEDLY GOING TO RING ME THE NEXT DAY WAS PROBABLY GOING TO ASK FOR SOME MONEY. .
I HAVE IN FACT GOT A CLAIM IN AGAINST HSBC WHO HAVE LED ME TO BELIEVE THEY WILL REFUND ME THE MONEY I PAID TO LIFETIME OWNERSHIP EXCHANGE IN JULY THIS YEAR WHEN THE ARRANGEMENT I HAD WITH THAT COMPANY EXPIRES.

My mother was telephoned today by John Bennett at Goldsworth Castle & Dean who offered her a large sum of money saying that a timeshare court case had been resolved and he asked her to do a bank transfer as surety before she got any of the money. When asked where the company was registered she was told Isle of Man but when I checked the Register for the Isle of Man, there was no such company listed.. Also, during the conversation the amount he asked for was reduced to encourage her to do it!. t
My relative who has a history of falling for scams has been approached by “Goldsworth Castle & Dean” who claim to be notaries.
Tha similarity with the name “Castleworth & Dean” is striking.
