Whether it is by phone or email, criminals are still targeting vulnerable timeshare owners.
Mindtimeshare wants to remember the great campaign undertaken in 2010 known as ‘Think Jessica’ – http://www.thinkjessica.com – which aims to protect vulnerable people in society who are targeted by criminals.
Scammers use whatever means to get into the mind of individuals and try to build up trust and a sense of security.
‘Think Jessica’ was a campaign that highlighted the dangers of replying deceptive mails or being ‘brainwashed’ by scammers through phone calls.
Think Jessica was set up by Marilyn Baldwin after the tragic death of her mother Jessica. Jessica was conned out of £50,000 over a five year period, the stress of keeping up with the scammers demands finally took there toll in October 2007, before her death Marilyn had managed to remove over 30,000 items of mail from Jessica’s home.
We are in 2015 and this is still happening. We receive hundreds of complaints from timeshare owners, victims of scams.
What you can do?
Be on your guard against targeted ‘cold calls’.
Be careful about sharing credit card or personal details.
Do not silence the scam!!!
Mindtimeshare has useful information about dubious companies on its blog. And always remember: ‘If it sounds too good to be true – it probably is.

Dear Alberto – many thanks for this. I have now ask “Jessica” to send me some booklets and posters for distribution in my own village as I am the Chair of the local Neighbourhood Watch Group.
Well done.
