Timeshare consumers have pointed out a new cold caller to us, and the name is Payne Associates.

This company Payne Associates claims to be in London and indeed there seems to be a registered company under such name, but this company does not seem to be the same people.

This is of course not the first time where cold callers use the name of an existing company to create a “trustworthy” image, but in reality the real company has no knowledge at all about these dubious calls.

Payne Associates is calling from telephone number 08438869592 (which is number withheld when dialling 1471).

Payne Associates claims to be acting on behalf of the courts, which have closed down several dubious companies, of which the timeshare consumer has fallen victim.

The companies are closed and their assets have been seized.

Now the court has decided that all the victims should be paid back what they lost.

Payne Associates is arranging for these pay outs but the consumers needs to pay an initial £150 for a Fiscal link Registration.

This seems to be only the first “part” as they have also contacted consumers to say that indeed the money from the fraudulent companies was seized, but blocked in an account in a Chinese Bank in Beijing, and in order to release this certain Chinese taxes had to be paid upfront.

Sounds familiar? Yes it does, and it also makes all alarm bells ring!

So please be alerted on this company and make sure you don’t fall into their trap.
