Cold caller Areiospagos is contacting timeshare consumers who have been defrauded in the past by dubious companies selling discount travel club memberships or bogus timeshare resale companies etc.
The fact is that the caller from this Areiospagos knows about the fraud the victims suffered, something that is not really “public knowledge”.
Areiospagos claims now that the Court of Athens has taken action against the fraudulent company and has seized all the assets. These assets are supposedly used top ay back the victims.
Areios pagos is appointed as the intermediary and are contacting the victims to make sure they get their money back apart from a substantial compensation as well.
In order to claim the money back, the consumer is presented with different options. The consumer can chose to go to Athens in person and claim the money directly with the help of an interpreter, but not really knowing how much time you will need to get this sorted.
Or…get Areiospagos to help out here, for a fee, and they will do all the paperwork and claim at the court.

There is no such thing as court cases in Greece against companies that acted in Spain or UK, and certainly is there no money awarded to anyone and to be paid out just like that with a simple telephone call and paying the fees.
It is not the first time there are supposed calls coming from “Greece” with very similar stories.
We have seen a company called Minfin-gr or the so-called Court of Cassatio and we also heard of numerous consumers receiving Telephone calls “directly” from the Court of Athens.
All scams!
Don’t let them blind you with promises of substantial pay backs, and please do not pay them a penny!

If you have difficulties with knowing who to believe, it might be an idea to contact the Greek Embassy in London and ask them if this could be true.
They will reconfirm to you that Greek courthouses do not cold call and do not aks for money that needs to be paid by Money gram or Western Union.
Other consumers also contacted the Embassy so we think they will know straight away that you are referring to this scam.

Hi. Had a phone call from the court of Athens today. A women called Isabelle Fal……. can’t remember her surname. Saying we have money owed to us in Athens which is going through court. To myself it sounds just like the ministry of justice in Spain, who conned is out of four and a half thousand pounds. I hope this will help others. Many thanks
