The Claims Agent, the cold caller who doesn’t do the claims at all…

Several consumers have brought to our attention a cold calling company by the name of The Claims Agent.

The person calling on behalf of the Claims Agent explains to the timeshare owner that they can help them with a claim against the resort based on mis selling.

In order to get more information about a possible claim, the Claims Agent proposes a home visit.

The Claims Agent has a website http://www.theclaimsagent.co.uk consists of one front page where it becomes clear that they actually don’t do the claims themselves.

The website was registered at the beginning of 2018.

As they quote “www.claimsagent.co.uk is a web based service introducing you specialist companies and their services within the Timeshare and holiday club claims sector…”

There is no Companies House registration number mentioned of The Claims Agent, no company address or any further contact details than the contact form and email address info@theclaimsagent.co.uk

From the consumers who contacted us we do know that the telephone number they call from is 03332 122505

Filling in a form on a website where there is no privacy statement at all, could lead to your personal details being shared with all kinds of companies.

There are no names of the supposed “leading” companies in the claims sector that would handle the claim, so you are really in the dark about whom you are speaking to or who will be visiting you at home.

Today I have received a ‘Final Notice’ from a company called gr8stays saying that I owe them £760 in unpaid membership fees. I have never heard of this company. One sentence in the letter says “All Club Class & Leisure Alliance memberships have endorsed this name change, which supersedes all membership levels.

I had the misfortune to subscribe to Club Class Concierge which no longer exists due to High Court proceedings against it I wonder if this is where they have got my name from.

I certainly don’t want to be involved with them but neither do I want to be caught up in legal proceedings, do you think there is any likelyhood of this happening?
