Hi there,
I’ve take a call from luxury linx travel today. Tracy called yesterday and tried to convince me to fly to majorca or tenerife. I took a day to think it over, and decided that did sound a bit dodgy. When I spoke to her today, she said she could send the legal team to my home address instead. So, I’m currently awaiting the legal team to get in touch to arrange a meeting. After reading on here, I’m thinking I will not be going through with it, despite the recent issues showing online about my timeshare company.
One concern I raised with Tracy, and still unsure about, is how she got so much data on us. With today’s stringent GDPR guidelines, I was concerned that my name and telephone number, and that of my partner, and bare facts about our timeshare had seemingly been handed over to a random third party.
I have just been cold called by luxury linx offer 4 days in 5 star accommodation in majorca. On the basis that they offer me free legal advise on a mis sold time share. She actually had a similar pitch to the people who sold me the time share initially, which set a few alarm bells ringing. She assured me that they have nothing to gain and I have nothing to lose. If I hadn’t been stung by the same company twice 🙄 (Azure) I might’ve followed up on her offer. Definitely sounds too good to be true. Could you just confirm I’m not passing up on an offer of a lifetime please? 😁
Unlike me, I fell for the smooth talking salesman for REFUNDMYFUNDS on Saturday last. Very convincing. But, I can’t think how they can scam me, or what they have to gain by me going all the way to Tenerife I bought a timeshare in Tenerife 2001 in The Beverly Hills Club. They promised they could sell it at a handsome profit before the next maintenance was due, but I sold it at a great loss 3 years later .I have cancelled my card which I gave to Refundmyfunds to play for the air fare. The accommodation they offered me for free was crap, but after complaining they are now offering good upgrade for no extra cost. It the moment I am thinking of forfiting our flight cost, but, on the other other hand, I cannot work out how these companies can anything other than what they claim – that they can get me refund which they will claim 20pc. Can you enlighten me before I decide to confirm the accommodation
Dear Margaret,
We have replied by email.
Have a look at the following article which is about a company called “Claim your claim” with a similar pitch and even a similar logo! This is the same company!
The article is about what you can really expect at the meeting: https://wp.me/p1kmoi-3kQ
