A new cold calling Claims Company has been detected by the name of Refund my Claim.
A person called Rachel Hinchcliffe contacts timeshare consumers out of the blue without really explaining where her company obtained the consumers’ personal and private details.
Refund my Claim works with home visits, which means they will send somebody around your house, who will fully inform you about the claim and additional services.
As explained in the follow up email, which is, send from info@refundmyclaim.co.uk:
“All of our actions are processed by affiliate companies – this will be decided by our Senior Claims Co-ordinator who will find you the best company to suit your needs as every claim is different, then a Senior Claims Assessor will visit you in your home at the agreed time and date to complete the process with you and start your claim. The Senior Claims Assessor will also show you options to legally terminate your Timeshare Contract under UK law, as you cannot have a successful claim and continue with your membership….”
It sounds very strange that Refund my Claim insists on cancelling the membership prior to the claim as the agreement would be cancelled anyway if the judge rules against the resort and declares the agreement Null and Void.
And as a matter of fact the claims going through the courts are all for consumers who are still paying the fees, as this is important to get the claim submitted.
So it looks more like the relinquishment / cancellation / termination / desisting service is probably their main “business” with a price tag.
Their website http://www.refundmyclaim.co.uk provides a lot of explanations on who they are and what they do, but the real company information is lacking.
No Companies House registration, nothing.
There is no privacy statement either.
Address displayed is:

This website was registered in the first week of February 2019, so that is 4 months so far…
Please note that cold callers are not complying with the law on data protection. Which seems strange for people who claim to be working with legal professionals.
Claims against resorts are done in Spain and need to be assessed by Spanish lawyers. There is no need to attend meetings in hotels or sales rooms or receive somebody at home.
If Rachel Hinchcliffe or anybody else from Refund my Claim has approached you already, please do let us know.
