Blue Diamond Holidays the Timeshare reseller from La Cala de Mijas in Spain

Blue Diamond

Blue Diamond Holidays has started their cold call campaign.

This Timeshare resale company approached timeshare consumers with the usual pitch about the buyers lined up for their timeshare and a guaranteed quick sale.

Blue Diamond Holidays registered their website www.bluediamondholidays.com on the 9th of December 2012. Most of the links on the web do not work and the only part that seems a bit developed is where they talk about Timeshare sales.

The address for Blue Diamond Holidays is 21a Calle Malaga, La Cala de Mijas 29650, Malaga, Spain

Telephone number +34 634 187 554 and Fax 0872 110 3734

Email info@bluediamondholidays.com

There is no company house registration number on the web or their paperwork.

After the initial call, Blue Diamond Holidays sends through the paperwork to be filled in and also drops the news about a retainer fee. The retainer fee of £1280 has to be paid upfront but is fully refundable on completion of sale.

There is no mention though of what would happen in the event the sale falls through…

As requesting an upfront fee for a timeshare resale goes against the European Timeshare Directive we certainly do not recommend paying this.

A very big thank you to whoever set up this website and for all you who’ve contributed to it.
I too was contacted by a Sarah Jenkins last Friday . . . exactly the same story as above. She phoned me back yesterday informing that a Mr & Mrs Williams had made an offer £6,420 for our Seasons Holidays timeshare. I told them we were unable to proceed until we checked a few things out with Seasons. I e-mailed Seasons and they directed me here. Ms Jenkins is supposed to be phoning me back this evening so that I can give her my decision. In light of what I’ve read here, it should be a very interesting conversation!

I too have just been contacted, but by ‘Penny’ from Blue Diamond Holidays on a unknown number, asking if I would like to sell my timeshare. I said yes, adding straight away that at NO point would I be sending them ANY money. Penny said that BDH were doing a presentation and are sure someone would want my timeshare, what price would we settle for? I said we’d be very happy with £1000. 15 minutes later was told the Baxters have offered £7100, would that be of interest?

Penny had alrready done the credit check on the Baxters, blah, blah, blah; it all has to be completed within 8 weeks to comply with European law; DHL will collect the paperwork, etc, etc. Everything is bulletproof – I can’t fail to get 7½ times more than I wanted! I am then causually told that my retainer is £1280, to be paid on my credit card, so it is all protected by Visa or Mastercard! Really? I don’t think I’ll be going ahead then! I asked why can’t I just send my paperwork to BDH to show good faith, BDH can retain the Baxters’ money until I’ve done my signing and so on, and THEN BDH can release the payment to me at the end? (And BDH can keep the extra £6100!) Penny started to give me the, no doubt, very plausible reason why this could not work, but by then the novelty of yet another of these scam calls had worn off.

I am sure Jon above is 100% correct that unbelievably the Baxters will back out, I loose my retainer, which maybe or maybe not after much aggro get back from the credit card people, with BDH sitting in Spain, keeping my money for their ‘expenses’. I’ll pass thank you.

    Simon

We got a call from Michael Taylor last Friday about our Mystic Dunes timeshare and asked if we were interested in selling. Today we got a call from “Penny Cox” saying that Mr & Mrs Baxter are will to pay 18k for our timeshare. We just need to deposit 1280 which will be refunded upon completion. My husband who took the call was obviously very skeptical and she became quite aggressive on the phone! So pleased that we read this first!

  5. Mike says:

I’ve been contacted by Amy Dixon from Blue Diamond today about possible buyers for my Mystic Dunes Time Share. Early stages, no buyers yet and no asking for a fee yet. Glad I found this site before I got sucked in.

    • Barlees says:

I was contacted by Amy Dixon as. Well and Payed £999.00 over the card and since then not heard from her because she has gone part tme probably spending my money

  6. David says:

    David from Northampton
Just been called by one Sarah Jenkins (very nice plausible lady) calling from 0034 634 187 554 = Blue Diamond Holidays, to tell me that they have found buyers, namely a Mr and Mrs Wilcock, for my Club Class Concierge membership. The credit check for these people is said to be OK.
The sale price I was asked to agree was £7460. All the usual blurb (detailed by others above) was given: DHL or UPS would deliver my cheque, and I would ned to sign a final indemnity form, etc.. The “Temporary Security Retainer” fee would be £1200 refundable when the sale closes. This amount of money, I am told, does not leave the UK so my money is safe, especially as it is validated by Mastercard.
Needless to say I am NOT pursuing this sale – I will end up being no worse off than i am now but stand to lose another £1200.
Having begun to check the Blue Diamond Holiday company via internet I discovered THIS site by Mindtimeshare. Thank you Mindtimeshare for what you are doing on behalf of those of us who have been conned in the past – good luck with your venture.

Like David I too have been contacted by Sarah Jenkins offering £8,460 for the 2 weeks I own in Madeira. The only addition was that if the buyer Mr & Mrs Williams from Devon backed out then their 30% deposit of 2,538 would be split 50/50 between then and myself, unlikely I am sure.
They added I would be protected via MasterCard (or visa) for 90 days and also via the credit consumers act which I find hard to believe despite the promise my £1,200 would be held in the UK.
I will be asking them to let me speak with Mr & Mrs Williams with a view of confirming their intentions via their email. I will also be declining paying them upfront and offering my preference for my solicitor to check legalities and hold the monies for them. Both requests I expect they will not agree to.

    • David says:

We too have been contacted by ‘Sarah’ offering exactly the same money wise, only the people who are wanting to buy are a Mr & Mrs Baxter. We are not going to go ahead with this either!

  8. Ian says:

My claim (of 3 years) against Credit Card for my Club Class Concierge ‘membership’ has at last (Dec 2012) been accepted by the bank. Just disputing the financial amount for settlement. Think citing London court case to wind up CCC was big help. Today, 09 March 2013, contacted by Blue Diamond who claim I have an outstanding CCC holiday voucher that BD want to arrange for me to utilise!

  9. Jon says:

    Hi Blue Diamond Holidays

This is the email I have posted on the web,

I have been contacted by a lovely lady ‘Jenny Wilkes’ from Blue Diamond Holidays on a unknown number, asking if I would like to sale my timeshare, of which I said yes. She replied great we have someone who wants to buy it. How much would I like for it? I said 2k – 3k (Stirling). Ok they have offered £5140.00. But she will have to give them a credit check and will ring me back in 2 or 3 days.

Jenny rings back 3 days later and says that a Mr and Mrs Mitchell’s are the couple who want to buy it for £5140.00 and have passed the credit check. They will transfer all of the amount into Blue Diamond Holidays account, and Blue Diamond Holidays will pay all of it to me either by check or bank transfer, then DHL will come and collect the paperwork from me. This whole process may take up to 8 weeks. Jenny then requests that I would have to pay Blue Diamond Holidays 10% of the amount £514.00 to them as a retainer! (as a commitment on my behalf). I will get this back when the sale is complete.

I said ‘your having a laugh’ no way (I have been stung by this sc** 4 years ago and it cost me £750.00).

What happens is you transfer the money (in good faith) and then a little later when you start asking whats happening you get told you that the buyer has backed out. So you ask for the money back and they say its ok we will keep the money and will find another buyer for you! – this never happens and then they disappear – cro***

and you need to look at this link –

Hi I have been contacted today by this company offering £7,800 for my 5000 of my diamond points, they said they had a diamond member, Mr & Mrs Taylor wishing to increase their points. Eventually the conversation came round to the £1280 upfront fee, which I declined to pay. Spoke to a Peter Davies and Angie.

    • Nigel says:

      Hi to you all,

I have just been contacted by a company called Gold Crown Resorts, saying that I have two free weeks available to me , anywhere in the world, as a form of compensation for the high cost of my maintenance charges at Flamingo in Tenerife. These would be in 5* resorts and I just need to pay £199.00 as a one off payment. This would also include two complimentary air fares and would be for two weeks per annum.
She knew my home address and that I owned at Flamingo Club. I said that I was not interested in attending any meetings , and was told ” there wouldn`t be any rubbish like that”

Is this genuine or another con like Club Class??

      Any advice would be appreciated.
      Many thanks
