Resort Management Direct, a Fly Buy Company nothing to do with your Resort Management!

rmd

Sometimes companies use names that directly create a false sense of trust or connection, which in reality is not there. This is the case with the Fly Buy Company Resort Management Direct.

Cold calling Resort Management Direct is a fly buy company which pretends on the call that they obtained the Timeshare owners’ data through his home resort. Resort Management Direct uses statements such as “we can do this offer for you because you have been paying your maintenance fees on time for the past years”

The offer from Resort Management Direct is 2 weeks in 5 star accommodations, to be taken over 5 years for the price of £398

When Timeshare owners checked with their resort they were told that no such company as Resort Management Direct has any connections with them.

The website from this company http://www.resortmanagementdirect.com/ was registered in December 2014

Basic information on the web, with a total lack of Company Information, which should be displayed by law, and contact details are a telephone number 0845 862 7782. No terms and conditions for the actual bookings, no privacy statement nor address.

The cold call and complete lack of company information indicates that any Timeshare consumer who is contacted by Resort Management Direct should be extremely cautious.

If you received a call already from 08458627782 with an offer for bonus weeks through Resort Management Direct, then please let us know.

  2. Fred says:

I have just been contacted by Ashley Anderson from Resort Management telling me I had 4 weeks with 6 persons free air travel for £398 and then said as I am an oap 50% off to make it £199 I paid but then contacted the card company to cancel.

  3. Janet says:

Contacted yesterday as you describe above. They knew of my timeshare I used to own. They rang again today asking if I wanted to go ahead. I said was busy, they will likely call again tomorrow. I will obviously be declining!

  4. Pennie says:

For over two years now we keep receiving calls all from a spanish number which is never answered or cuts off when you ring them back. They call themselves amongst other names Resort MAnagement Direct. Often someone called Scott Walker or once a grandmotherly soubding woman telling us that there was a court case in spain in our favour found against RMD and that if we sent 200 euros the money would be released – some 12000 euros. I said that was most interesting and would she kindly email the details and I would BACS the money across – all they pushed for was for Debit card which ofcourse I had no intention of doing and we never got the email. I was called back again later and they tried this saga again! I get calls up to six times a week and have asked them to take us off their list. Sometimes i get silent calls all from the same number in Spain. It really is beyond harrassment and I can do nothing to stop it.

  5. Carol says:

My partner was contacted with the offer of 2 weeks for £199 at our home resort in Gran Canaria which he paid as I deal with our holidays and thought it would be a nice surprise . When they rang again I spoke to them and asked if I was speaking to my home resort which she said yes I was which at that point I called her a sca**** as I talk to my resort often as only 2 people in their office and is quiet this time loads of noise could tell it was a call centre. She kept insisting I was talking to my resort I called her a liar and she put the phone down. We have called the bank Lloyds with details got to ring them again in 2 weeks to see if we have a valid claim. I have notified my resort company and friends who own there that this is happening also put on Facebook just in case anyone might read it before getting a call and losing their money.

  6. Jeff says:

My mother-in-law has just been co**** by these people, Ashley Anderson rung her purporting to represent the Pestana Madeira Beach Club .. And managed to charge her £398 for 2 weeks holiday and a mini break with 6 flights.. Resort Management Direct website has no availability for Madeira and Pestana confirm they have no affiliation with them… hope they can sleep at night conning a 76 year-old pensioner!!

  7. Caroline says:

Just received a call from this company offering the 2 weeks for £398.
Person on the phone s name was Paige

  8. Rosie says:

I’ve been contact by this company offering 5 weeks accommodation 5 star with all food included and 6 free flights as well for £198.00. But I want to see teens and conditions. Do you have any more info about this?

    Thanks

    • Linda says:

I contacted Rmd about the city break and free flights. They sent me a booking form but said it was nothing to do with them. I tried contacting the people on the form by phone for more information but the message said it didn’t take incoming calls so I gave up and the next time rmd phoned I told them what had happened and they weren’t interested

  9. mary says:

I also got sca**** by this company, The women said she have sent me an email and the offer is expiring soon, I told them I have not received any email. The offer was two weeks holiday including flights, up to 6 people at £249 also the lady on the phone said ‘they only accept debit card, not a credit card or Mastercard’ I was so stupid to give my debit card details. I have spoken to my bank, to see if they can get my money back and also canceled my debit card.

    • Fred says:

I did the same with my credit card

    • Linda says:

I am also one of the fools who fell for the blurb from RMD. I joined up in June 2015, thinking the holidays would be great for our growing family, then didn’t hear anything for a while until they contacted me to ask for payment to keep my weeks in the system. For the past 8 months I’ve been contacted several times saying I need to pay a final payment then they’ll send me a brochure. In the end, after several emails and letters to them telling them to delete my details I received a phone call today with the same patter as before. Their sales staff are pushy and rude and I urge everyone not to enter into any contract with them.

  10. Sue says:

I have been co**** by this company and although they said they would not take money out of my account they have. I have written and I am expecting a reply in 7 working days. How likely is it for that to happen. I will continue to take it further.

  11. Debbie says:

this has to be the biggest con ever? £99 pounds for weeks I was owed from our timeshare company. Interestingly did not return my phone calls until I stupidly left a message saying I had not received any emails or documents as promised – bingo – an email with information which will no doubt ever be useful as I do believe all the comments above. I am much too embarrassed to involve the bank

  12. Hayley says:

Orginally contacted in 2011 but recently contacted to renew by weeks for 99pound as they were due to expirer .I spoke to caroline and told her a was unable to take my holiday as it was never available.I have tried to contact these people to book a hotel but keep getting answer machine and they have not got back to me lucky i did not give any more money .

    • Norma says:

I, too, have been co**** by this company. Firstly I was told to send my reference number and contact details and they would refund my £99. Then was sent an email stating that they won’t refund the money as , by paying by card at the time, I was authorising the payment and they have no refund/cool off clause. Credit card company say that they’ve done nothing wrong and as such won’t repay either. Good luck

  13. Norma says:

Hi there. I too have been sca**** by this company. I paid £99 via Barclaycard and then decided to research them. I contacted them straight away to cancel the transaction and was told I couldn’t do this but may get a refund. I was put onto Susan Woods, customer services manager, who said to give her my details and she would activate a refund. After a couple of weeks of hearing nothing, and a few emails from me to them, I finally got an email back saying that it couldn’t be done as I’d authorised the payment at the time. I contacted Barclaycard who said that there was nothing they could do, unless we had problems actually booking the free weeks with them. Do I just have to put this down to (bad) experience, or can someone help. Thanks

  14. Anthony says:

I just received a cold call from a female saying she was from resort management direct working with diamond international about bonus points. I asked her if she actually had anything to do with diamond and she said ‘ we work alongside diamond’. I put the phone down having heard this many times before. A 1471 showed the call came from 0845 8627782.

  15. Rita says:

I was also called by these people awhile back I did pay the £99 for the said 2 week holiday ,
I paid it on visa and fortunately my bank managed to get it back for me .
Since then I must have had another 4 calls from them including another one this morning.
I do keep telling them to stop ringing.
I feel sorry for all these people who have lost money.
This morning they actually told me I had banked 2weeks with them !
    THEY REALLY NEED STOPPING !

  16. Dexter says:

My mother was tricked into paying the admin fee because they said she had signed a contract; which was untrue.
Is this not something the police should be looking at?

    • Lynne says:

They are still at it!! Received a call today on my mobile while I was at work (I’m in an open plan office). The number was 0034966460280 (Alicante). Said they are looking to fill hotels and it’ll cost £99 for a 2 week holiday which is valued at £350 – £500pw, for up to 6 people with no expiration date. She kept mentioning blanket tour. I’ve done several over the years (just for a day out), Though I thought it was strange as I don’t recall giving personal details. I asked whether it was a promotional holiday (where you have to go to a 2 hour presentation which turns into a day, where they try and give you the hard sell to buy a timeshare). She said no. I gave up my legit timeshare last year after 18 years. I asked if I could call back, but she said no, they needed to call me back. I asked them to call me back Friday. That way it gives me time to check them out. I’m going to block their number!!

  17. June says:

They phoned me today. They asked me for £99 admin costs for a weeks holiday for 4! It sounded too good to be true so I googled them. I got this website so I challenged the caller and she hung up! I’m glad I had the foresight to google them!!

  18. ruth says:

Stupid me . Thought i was so carefull. They have a way of being force full.
This was also at the bedding meeting. On bedding just, “get an old wool blanket
from charity shop and put under sheet, put a wool blanket on your bed”.
Just as good. Dont give details of your master card over the phone, then get rid of, so not tempted again. The holiday was not said to be time share. I fell for it as thought the blankets i bought in Spain was ligit.
cottacted bank strait away, thought i could stop the payment but it has to go and be processed.
What alot of agro at Christmas. Hope bank does something.
Every one put on line about these people pos FACE BOOK.

  19. N R says:

Received a call saying that my wife and I had won a prize from the blanket company we visited in Spain 8 years ago. Apparently we filled in some forms which are entered into an annual draw and this was our lucky year. They wanted my credit card number and expiry date and admin costs of £195.50 to register our acceptance. Foolishly I did but as they did not have the security number on the back of the card I was not unduly worried. However after reading this blog I contacted the credit card company and they said that the money had not yet been paid but was pending. They could not stop the transaction and advised me to contact Resort Management Direct to cancel the payment. Unfortunately no one was available surprise surprise ! The telephone number given was 0845 862 7782 and the ladies name was Ashley Anderson. The credit card company has all the details and are going to contest payment in the event that I cannot cancel payment myself. Hope this helps though how they got the money without the security number on the back of the card needs looking into.

    • Ron says:

I got same. Ashley Anderson. I’m still trying from August 18th. Got through on phone to Philip Jenkins, but does deal with sales so told me to email info@resotmanagementdirect.com. Left details with EU trading standards too. Peter Mitchell answered my email after about a week saying they told me everything and that they would not cancel. Still emailing them about their lies and cons. I don’t think I’ll get the refund. Credit card company are looking into it too. Even if I lost I still don’t know if we could get the holiday.

      • Ian says:

Hi, did you have any joy with a refund? A relation of mine has been conned by this scamming company. Just looking for advice! Thanks.

      • caz says:

        Hi
I photo copied everything I had, plus what was on this site about the firm, plus emailed timeshare Resort Management Direct about my complaint being co****. Never got reply, so photo copied that as well and contacted bank (mine was Halifax). I emailed them all the copies and filled in their information email details that they wanted. I gave now been paid by the bank the money I lost through debit card fraud. You need to contact your bank as soon as possible, as I think you only have a certain time to do it. Hope this helps x

      • caz says:

Got refund through bank under debit card fraud. Told them I believed I was getting a holiday not timeshares and emailed them all the paper work I had, plus completed their questionnaire. This was through Halifax bank. Need to go to bank quickly, as I don’t know what time scale it has to be done in.
        Good luck

    • Ann says:

My husband and I had a very similar experience today, and I am so grateful for this website I researched before “Ashley” rang back to demand credit card details. We were being put under pressure to do this quickly but had said we needed some time to think about it. She rang back within 40 minutes and was quite hostile when I told her we weren’t going ahead. She then told me quite sharply that we shouldn’t have filled in the form on the blanket tour in 2004! We were also told the company was celebrating its 25 year anniversary and that was why we were being offered this opportunity! I’m wondering how this company can be stopped as they seem to be running a scam, and I wonder if it can be legally challenged on the basis of providing false information etc?

  20. Carl says:

Having been caught by RMD I tried to cancel I was told to contact customer care. There is no customer care so this means I lose my money.I feel very very angry. It seems they cannot be stopped. One would think the fraud squad could stop this I feel so sorry for all the other people who have been victims of those people Hope you get your holiday Sam.

  21. sues says:

Has anyone been on one of these holidays or managed to retreive their money. We were asked like everyone else to pay up front they then asked for income details then when we requested dates they said we didn’t meet the criteria what now !

    • jean says:

Didn’t complete after receiving forms. Think you had a time limit to confirm details etc. Still trying to get money back through bank.

  22. Jo says:

My parents were called by someone who gave them this 0845 number. The caller informed them that they’d had won a prize draw based on a form they filled in 2007 on a blanket trip in Spain. They were told they had won a holiday for 4 anywhere in the UK or abroad for £199 which they could take in the next 5 years. On calling 1471 it was a call from an 0845 number. The woman called back explaining that they had 20 mins to pay or the offer would expire. Fortunately my parents didn’t sign up.

  23. John says:

such a Plausible Sc**. I got taken in by it and got refunded by HSBC.

  24. michael says:

i was contacted 9.7.15 ive pay £199 they said that no money would go out of my account because the did not need the 3 diget pin code but the money has gone …. is this a c** .. and is there any hoilday .. resort management direct said they got my detail off a trip i took 3 years a go in spain by filling in something on a coach trip. and that i had won 5* accomadation hoilday .looks like a c** to me now

  25. caz says:

Can anyone tell me how I can get my £199 back please?

  26. Carl says:

hello my parents were contacted by the above company saying they had won a raffle on there last holiday in Spain and subsequent they were told they had won 2 weeks free accomadation and flights in any of there resorts. They were asked to pay £199 admin free and all the info would be sent out. They have paid this and received all info but no terms and conditions etc. I’m worried this is a scam as its for up to 6 people and they want to know financial details? Should they take up the offer?

  27. David says:

    16/05/15
My dad received on of these calls yesterday. He gave them card details of the account he knew was only for savings because he wasn’t 100% sure it was genuine and they said that they only needed the card number for future reference, and not once mentioned taking any money immediately,. He soon got a call back to say that the money could not be taken out, when he questioned this, he was told they didn’t send information without payment and it would only be £398. After a lengthy conversation and no resolution my dad asked me to check out the company, and glad we did.

  28. Tony says:

ive just been called by them, same thing , stuff id had since 2010.They wanted 398.i said id have to call the wife to ask her opinion,to which she replied “are you not big enough to make your own decisions?”

  29. Cat says:

Just received a call from this company 5th May 2015. When asked if they could provide written documents in the post before payment was handed over, they replied saying ‘it’s not what they do’. Got very aggressive quickly and the call ended with being called a ‘f***ing pr**k’. What a bunch of lying c**men!

  30. Lorraine says:

Hi I was contacted by resort managed direct I did originally book for 3weeks for £398 but since I have saw this I have since then managed to cancel the transaction.

  31. WJ says:

I have had similar calls this week asking for 398GBP. I asked them to send copies of original paperwork which they couldn’t do. I asked how I would book any weeks as I had no contact information. They said it had been sent in 2010 and signed for. I asked them to send a copy of the signature at which point the ‘manager’ told me I was talking bollocks and hung up

  32. ALAN says:

Just had a call from Resort Management Direct on 0034965887862 telling me I was “going to lose the weeks which I had paid for in 2010 if I didn’t use them now” . Better to know one of their latest stories and phone numbers.

  33. Mike says:

I had a cold call today from Resort Management on 0034965888786 asking for £398 to protect my banked weeks, I asked her which resort they related to, as I track my holdings, at which point she said your loss and put the phone down. A definite sc** company.

  34. Wendy says:

I was cold called by Resorts Management Direct on 6/2/15 by Alex who said I had free holidays abroad. The phone number was 08458627782. As I have recently been caught out I wasn’t this time!
On the same day [i.e. 6/2/15] at 13.38 I was also cold called by Holidays Direct who said that I needed to Pay £199 to reserve my 2 weeks holiday which I could take any time in the future. I forgot to make a note of her name, the phone number was 0034965888116.

    • Sam says:

The phone number is 0845 862 7782. I did the same handed over my card details then cancelled it the next day, the bank also cancelled it saying (are you in Spain) which I said no, so they cancelled the transaction and refunded me and are now doing a fraud investigation into this company. I thought this sounded to good to be true. I do have the confirmation from them and I will try and book a holiday because they still have the money but my bank is looking into them with the police.
