Have you been online with NOWON-LINE?

Another newbie on the block with old tricks like cold calls and upfront payment requests!

Nowon-line  www.nowon-line.com, telephone 0845 0758115 claims on their website to have been helping timeshare consumers selling their membership for the past 10 years! That’s quiet some effort taking in account their website only came “online” in February this year.

Allegedly based in Mallorca, Contact address: Ramblas De Ducs 13-1 07003, Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Tel. (UK) 0845 0758115, it looks like they started operating this early April, cold calling timeshare & points owners with firm resale offers, asking for an upfront “refundable” payments of up to 1300€

Reading further on their web, they state they have a large database of people selling and wanting to buy timeshare. It is very surprising though that there are only 4 supposed pictures displayed of timeshares for sale. So how would somebody know what is for sale?

Another worrying fact is that on the main page of the website there are logos displayed from large timeshare and exchange companies, creating a sense of credibility and security as if this company is backed up by these prestigious companies. Well, they are NOT!  We have checked with these companies and we can assure you they were not aware of this “unauthorized” usage of their logos!

What we have heard from the concerned timeshare owners (who paid), is that once the resale offer is accepted, and the upfront payment is made, the timeshare seller receives a resale contract, which does not mention the firm resale offer made by phone at all and instead he has signed up for a marketing agreement for a certain period. Within this time period there is a promise of one  resale offer – i.e. maybe a meeting with the “potential” buyer, i.e. a holiday club using a cash back offer as “honey trap” along, or even a Class Action using also a holiday club membership as a trade in, including also a cash back scheme.

Reading further on their web, they state they have a large database of people selling and wanting to buy timeshare. It is very surprising though that there are only 4 pictures displayed of supposed timeshares for sale. So how would somebody know what is for sale? How do they actually market your timeshare if they don’t even display it on their own web?

Please note that this company is not registered at either the Spanish or British Companies Housing and the phone number they use is of the common type that can be switched through to any line in Europe, in this case most probably Mallorca.

Our advice! Think twice before getting your credit card out of your wallet for a guaranteed sale. With this company and any other company that asks for an upfront fee!

Yes- I got caught by ‘United Online’ and then TS Consultants (got me a corporate buyer!) then Blue Horizons (linked with Exectivie travel and leisure) BEWARE. I am going to get in touch with the credit card company for help now. The telephone number for United Online is not working now!

    • Dear Lizzy,
      Thanks for your comment.

  2. We are now trying to sell with travelandleisure.co.uk . A small fee of £195 which is returned, they advertise online for you on the website and you can view for updates. Fingers crossed we will sell. I am so glad you didn’t get caught out with those other liars.

  3. Ellen Jackson says:

We too have been contacted by United on-line and alarm bells atarted to ring when they said they wanted £1295 as security for the buyers. They sound so genuine it’s hard to believe as an honest person that such people exist. i don’t know how they sleep at night. Thank you so much for setting up this website. Still left with trying to sell our timeshare though. Anybody know any reputable firms? Do any exist?

  4. I have now recieved an e mail stating they need to get in touch as they have found a new buyer! My initial thought is my banks fraud dept have caught up with them. I e mailed nack and said I was interested in a full refund of money only.

    • Thanks for the update Maureen!
You might be right, the bank must have asked questions and now they are trying to pretend they are fullfilling the contract by doing another offer.
You stay strong and continue the refund claim.
      Kind regards

  5. I have now spoken with the fraud dept at my bank who will deal with this ! It is such a relief. that I used my credit card for thr payment

  6. I have just stupidly realised I have allowed myself to be taken in by this scam. Same scenario, they have a buyer and needed 1300 euros to sit in a holding fund,

I have spoken to my credit card company today and they are dealing with this.

Why oh why do these people get away with this and why are we so taken in ??? I feel totally stupid

    Maureen

    • Dear Maureen,
We are sorry to hear that you fell into the trap of this company. They seem to be very active lately and they are very convincing.
Make sure your credit card company follows up your request. We are sending you some more information by email.
      Kind regards

  7. Claire says:

Nowon-line is a SCAM – DO NOT TRUST THEM. I did trust them and stupidly parted with £1350 for a so called bond as they had ‘sold’ my Timeshare. As with others, the ‘so called buyer’ pulled out on the completion day. I have just received a refund from my credit card company. So don’t put your self through the same stress as my family and I and ignore their calls.

    • Dear Claire,
      Thanks for the message.
I am glad you did get the refund of your credit card company, but as you mentioned, nobody wants to go through this kind of stress.
Please always check with us if another company cold calls you.
      Kind regards

Hi I have stupidly paid a retainer deposit to united online which seems to be the new diguise for this other company, now on line. When the credit card company refunded the money for Claire. How did you argue for a refund, did you use section 75, or another law to get your refund. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

      Mark I

      • Hi Mark,
Thanks for the messages, help is on its way by email.
Yes you can use the section 75 as you have been mis represented totally by this company.
        Kind regards

  8. Ian Oliphant says:

nowon-line.com have just contacted me with a sale of my timeshare.
They want £1250 paid by creditcard as a HOLDING BOND to First Class Business, stating this is refundable on completion.
Would this payment be protected? I have an email from them stating this

    • Dear Ian,
Paying deposits for a resale service related to timeshare is illegal and has been banned with the New Timeshare Directive that became active in February this year. Requesting a refund should not be necessary if these companies work by the LAW and abstain from requesting money upfront. Why don’t they refrain from that? Because there is no buyer, there is no such sale and they just need to cash in your money and then will entertain you for some time before you realise it is a scam.
      Don’t pay.

      Customer Care

    • Selrach says:

No your payment is not protected, I got caught exactly for the same amount in May 2011, Guaranteed sale in 6 – 8 weeks, with a full refund, After 7 weeks I phoned them to find out what was the delay in a settlement, only to be told that the buyer has pulled out of the deal, and they are trying to find another buyer, that was back in June 2011, I have asked for a full refund, But no response whatsoever. Beware don’t part with any money.

      • Dear Selrach,
        Thanks for your comment.
Refund requests take a long time and banks do not give in the first time.
As long as you know your rights and the bank realises you know them, it is all a question of insisting and not giving up.
But indeed, payments by credit card should not be taken lightly, thinking getting a refund is easy, as it is not.
        Kind regards
